Obama to meet with terror victim families – has some ‘splaining to do

President Obama will visit with families of September 11 terrorist attacks and the 17 sailors killed in the terrorist bombing of the USS Cole.

Obama has some ‘splaining to do. Groups representing victims’ families were angered by Obama’s half-baked executive order to close the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay and Obama’s order to drop the charges against the terrorist mastermind of the Cole bombing.

According to the Washington Post, “fireworks” are likely at the gathering:

Jim Riches, a retired New York firefighter whose son, Jimmy Riches, died in the Sept. 11 attacks, said in an interview yesterday that he wants to hear from Obama what the government intends to do with the prisoners.

“I want to know, are they going to drop the charges? Are they going to try them in another court?” he said. “I want to let them know that these men are dangerous.”

[. . . ]

“The issue . . . is what are they going to do with those detainees. We want justice for the ones that said they did it,” he said.

That’s what I want to know. What is Obama going to do with the terrorists detained at Guantanamo?

How do Obama and the rest of the lunatics justify this support for terrorists? In one form or another the liberals have been trying to get us to lose the WOT or turn tail and run.

I hope the families he meets with give him such a does of reality he will not soon forget what his job actually is…

That’s a fair statement. I think most people who want Gitmo closed support justice via fair trials. The legal processes set up down there were probably not going to further justice except by accident. It’s time to reassess.

…is pretty much scheduled a bunch of people to be either shot while trying to surrender, or be hooked up to car batteries in plausibly-deniable third-party locales.

I guess that you had better hope that none of those people were actually innocent, huh?

You’ve been told what the consequences are going to be; heed or don’t heed, as you please.

anodize tran verb. anodized (adj.) to coat a metal, e.g. aluminum, with a protective or decorative oxide by making the metal the anode of an electrolytic cell. Yeah that pretty much explains you, a lot of protective coating but something does not smell right below. Anyway, I just checked your comments I think it is a matter of time before you say something that IDs your nature. Have a nice day.

            I hope not.

He wasn’t getting personal…he was just saying that your name fits your track record here.

If you took that personally then you are very thin skinned….and probably just looking to drag someone into an argument.

            get over it.

See you on the next thread.

are instead going to get to step foot on the ground of the best DAMN country in the world that is personally disgusting to me….KILL THEM ALL LET ALLAH SORT THEM OUT!

They need to be in hell, burning, where they belong. Every day they spend at Gitmo is a paradise compared to where they should be. They ought to be thanking us!

They want to be martyrs for Allah — let’s help them along, shall we? I’m sure Allah, the just and merciful, peace be upon him, can sort out the righteous better than we infidels can.

        It’s called a 45 JHP!

These are not enemy combatants, which the Geneva Convention deals with.

Not that it’ll make any difference policy-wise.

Even though I utterly despise Obama, and on one level I relish these people getting their pound of flesh, so to speak, there is a larger, grander aspect to this.

We are stuck with him for 4 years, no matter what. We are stuck for 2 years with a near-filibuster-proof Senate, and two Houses that can pass anything the left wants with no debate and no amendment. We can’t make them go away (yet).

But this experience, this extremely rude beat-down that is going to happen, will be one of the first times that The One has ever been taken behind the woodshed and gotten his hide tanned. I think he has lived in his own bubble of support and sycophancy for at least 2 decades, and never had to account for his actions or lack of effectiveness.

It may help cause him to perhaps start thinking seriously that he has responsibilities.

it’ll matter if they do. I’d bet the Zero will have the Secret Service confiscate them, and no news cameras either, and if it get too rough, he’ll “bolt” because he just “has to get away”. After he tells them all that they’re Americans and they’re better than that, blah blah blah.
When does this meeting take place?

        • olsmithie

The Obamanation won’t have cameras lest he might stumble.

Obama pulled the indictment of the mastermind of the USS Cole bombing, excuse me, “alleged” mastermind. Some PR flacked tried to spin it as okay because it was not dismissed with prejudice, so charges can be filed again. Like Obama is going to have any of his sycophants file charges against anybody who doesn’t have an ‘R’ behind his name.
