Obama on cap and trade: ‘electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket’

Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” — Barack Obama, January 17, 2008, San Francisco Chronicle

Watch Obama say that under his cap and trade plan electricity rates will skyrocket:

During the same interview Obama also admitted that his cap and trade plan would bankrupt anyone who builds a coal-powered plant.

Obama was honest about cap and trade during the campaign.

-his poll numbers are headed south in a hurry. Humiliation by Tehran and Pyongyang, coupled to an embarassing defeats on Obamacare and cap-n-trade will deal this arrogant montebank a blow that’ll knock him down a couple pegs- something that is both needed and long, long overdue.

The paucity of GOP co-conspirators for the Porkulus and other reckless spending also exposed Obama politically… and now looks to be a huge gamble. When all this pork-n-welfare fails to generate any real economic gains, the Democrats will face a bloodbath in 2010.

By the time 2012 rolls-around… people will cringe at the mere mention of his name- and the GOP could take 40 states running Gilbert Gottfried.

Perhaps the day will soon come when everywhere except in the inner cities you’ll find cars sporting bumper stickers that say, “Don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for the Clown in Chief.”

What support do you think a person running for Pres. would get if they campaigned on the premise of, “If elected I’ll make it my first priority to begin disassemblilng the federal government: Dept. of Education – gone; Dept. of Energy – gone; EPA – gone; Dept. of Labor – rolled into Commerce,” etc.

      I can dream, can’t I?!

Update: Before today, the bill ran a little over 1,000 pages. Early this morning, Waxman dropped a 300-page amendment into it. Be sure to ask your Representatives if they plan to read either of these before voting on the bill. (via Mary Katharine Ham)

Given the lack of interest – in one sense, thank heavens there was a lack of interest! – in Nobama’s health care agitprop show on ABC, I suspect few really know what “cap and trade” really means.

Start spreading the word to anyone you know still not paying attention to what is happening. E-mailing this video with appropriate commentary would be a start.

come when he’s not using a teleprompter? Just like the “Joe the plumber” incident. All the more reason to study what he says when he’s not using one. All the more reason he’ll use one as often as possible.
