Boehner: ‘where are the jobs?’

In today’s “Weekly Republican Address,” House Republican Leader John Boehner asks, “Where are the jobs?”

It’s a good question. After all, to justify spending trillions of borrowed money on President Obama’s so-called stimulus, energy and health care bills, Obama and the Democrats promised the unprecedented spending would create jobs:

The president and Democrats in Congress claim this spending binge is necessary to put Americans back to work. They promised unemployment would not rise above 8 percent if their trillion-dollar stimulus was passed.

But our nation has lost nearly three million jobs this year. Unemployment has soared above 9 percent. And now the president admits that unemployment will soon reach double digits.

After all of this spending, after all of this borrowing from China, the Middle East, our children and our grandchildren, where are the jobs?”Where are the jobs?”

You can watch Leader Boehner’s address in the following video:

Here’s another question. Why do Congressional Democrats continue to pursue economic, health care, energy, and  environmental policies that will destroy more American jobs and drive future generations into deeper debt?

the Republicans build any credibility when 8 of them go and vote YES on Cap & Trade?

    What will it take?

Another Great Depression so the Republicans can point at Obama and say “I told you so?”

    Where is Michael Steele?

    The politicians have failed us.

It’s time to take to the streets, we can’t wait until the next election.
The congress people that are in session need a wake-up call.
They can’t say the people have requested me to vote NO and then vote YES. What kind of representation is that?

    • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

Only a moron can’t tell the difference between a party had 8 out of 202 yes votes, and a party that had over 200 yes votes.

        to get porkulus passed.

If these 8 republicans would have voted know the Cap & Trade would have been dead in it’s tracks. 3 here, 8 there, soon it is 11 then 15 then 32…..

Boehner did a piss poor job in holding the line.

Pretty soon there will not be a next time.

  • djemi

That’s easy, there being shipped overseas and ‘their trillion-dollar stimulus’ has been designed to create jobs in 11 and 12 so BO has a better chance of getting that 2nd term, you know the one where he gets to raise all mof those taxes to pay off all of that intrest.

As for why the Congressional Democrats want to destory all of those American jobs is in the hope that these newly unemployed poeple want vote for the party thjat wants to cut the benifit rolls. That and the fact that if they overload the system, it might fail and then they can impose that facist state that they so desirer.

For those old enough to remember the old Wendy’s slogan,”Where’s the Beef?”, this should do nicely. Every time Obama says he has “created or saved” 10 million or however meny jobs, simply respond “Where’re the jobs?”. Every time the MSM parrots O’s lies, respond the same way. Every time some cool-aid drinking idiot on the street says how great the dear leader is, say the same thing, “Where’re the jobs?”.

This could catch on quick, and go along way. Everytime the jobless report goes up a notch – say it. Everytime somebody mentions porkulus or cap and trade (assuming it passes the Senate – which it will) – say it. People will get tired of it, but they will have to wonder also.

    “Where’re the jobs?”

A Holocaust movie…… starring Britney Spears…….What could go wrong ?

    http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/0,1518,632338,00.html

Spears, who is currently in the process of successfully resuscitating her recently languishing music career with her global “Circus” tour, is reportedly reviewing a script for a film tentatively titled “The Yellow Star of Sophia and Eton.”

The flick would see her playing a character named Sophia LaMont who travels back in time to fall in love with a Jewish concentration camp prisoner named Eton. In a tricky critique of ongoing anti-Semitism, the script concludes with the lovebirds travelling back to the present day before being killed by Nazis.

    ===============

My only question is, will Obama get a part in this like he had in the new Transformers movie ?

Nothing out of Hollywood surprises me……. Nothing.

She would have made a good spokeswoman indeed–except that sadly, she is no longer with us. She died back in ’87.

If only Obamacare had been in effect, she’d probably still be with us today…

    • $peciallist

we could have Audio for that one…

  • jeepnpat1

Yep, another BS train has left the station. Just wait to hear them spin this going forward stating that they saved jobs instead of creating them.

I want to know from Mr Boehner how he lost 8 constituents in the Republican party to this passing of the bill. If we would have had a complete Republican concensus that would have just been enough votes to not allow this bill to go through. How is it that we have had the Republicans in the House stand together, united on other bills and not this one?

If there is some sweet-heart deal going on with the 8 who went against conservatism then we as the people deserve to know the facts and to know who they conspired with.

  • johnt

makes sense if you start to realize the underlying purpose is to cause pain. Only when you plumb the depths of the leftist soul does it become clear the contempt this trash holds for normal people, the ugly urge to grind down others, to hurt and create dependence.

The O’s past life before the disaster of ’08, the Wright/Ayers thing, people who hate their country as now I’m convinced, does O and Tone Armed Michelle, offers insight added on to current perspective.

It’s the pure joy of the use of malignant power. And on it will go.

The craziness that goes on in this Democratic Congress angers me to no end. The situation that our country is in reminds me of this song:

    • bs
  • amigag

I agree that these 8 need to be held accountable. There is no excuse nor reason for this. However, I am not sure that I would agree that without their 8 votes the bill would not have passed. I would like more information on how the votes (all votes) are taken. Were there any votes changed? How can we assume that if these Republican votes were NO, that the Democrats that voted NO, would not have changed their votes to Yes? If I am not mistaken, all of the Democrats voted Against all of the Republican amendments that were put forth.
I don’t understand how the votes are called etc & tallied; but I would need to see a time line, (as time of each vote) before I would believe the final vote is entirely the Republican’s fault. I am NOT excusing them at all, just would someone with more experience clarify this for me? Thank you. I am new posting here & can’t follow the “reply to this” sucessfully. Thanks

    • Achance

in other threads. Once they got the necessary Quislings to go with the bill, they could turn all the other Ds loose to vote against it and go back to the district being all conservative and stuff.

      • djemi

Not sure what you mean by that.

        • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

…were the Norwegians who assisted in the Nazi invasion of Norway, if I recall correctly.

That’s what people are calling the eight who backed Cap and Tax.

          • TNJim

Specifically Vidkun Quisling, who assisted the Nazis in taking over Norway. I wondered about the term myself yesterday after the diary on the Quisling Republicans. His last name made it into the lexicon as meaning traitor or collaborator, a fitting term for those 8 “Republicans”.

          • djemi

            I’ve got a couple of questions about these 8 Quisling then;
            1) What is the make up of their home districts?
            2) What did they get out of the bill for said district?
            3) Do they get another chance to get it right?
            4) Is it just a ploy by the R Leadership to see who the dems think are not worth saving?

And then a Question about the site, How do you do this

?So what is so strange about being honest to say that I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation? Why would I want that to succeed?? -Rush Limbaugh at CPAC 2009
            RS|Help (h/t to JLenardDetroit)

? and where can I do it.

          • TNJim

but as for the last, near the top of the page click my profile, then to the right of your screen name on the next page click edit. On that page down near the bottom is where you can put a signature, which is what you copy/pasted from my comment is. Then below that click update profile after making your changes.

As to the first 4, someone else here may be able to help, or, as they say, Google is your friend, or whatever search you use.

          • TNJim

The Senate could send it back to them if they reject it or put a bunch of changes in, then the House would have to vote on it all over again. I don’t see the Senate changing much of it, though.

          • George Claghorn

In the masthead, click the link that says “Create New Diary Entry.”

On the left-hand side of the page at the bottom of the blue header, click the “Profile” link.

Scroll down to the bottom and put your desired comment signature in the “Signature” field.

            Click update profile.

          • djemi

I’d say she has to go. I have to add that IMHO all 8 have to go.

          • DONTREADONME

I believe I saw an analysis linked to by someone here, I can not remember, that showed the biggest beneficiaries of the system instituted by this bill would be California, New Jersey, Delaware and New York. Let me see if I can find that map of the United States that showed the natural benefits to those states and the effects to the other states like Texas, this bill will cost taxpayers something like 1Billion. As I said, let me see if I can find it.

    • janis

the 8 traitors to make sure of it, the 8 so-called R’s had NO business voting for something that will destroy our economy.

Or do you disagree with that?

  • amigag

Oh, NO, not at all. I spent many hours Thursday & Friday calling Democrats & Republicans & followed all of Erick’s posts. I know the 8 votes are without excuse. I just was not clear on the order of the vote or if someone could change their vote so the outcome would be what the Democrats wanted.
Thank you for your reply. I’m just trying to understand the process. I have seen before that the other side is very tricky.

    • janis

us read the site before we posted anything–I know I did. I’ve been a member for a little over two years, but I spent lots of time reading RedState, Powerline, Instapundit, and others before I felt equipped to make knowledgeable comments.

As to procedures in terms of voting in the House, I think they’ve pretty much taken all the rules out and shot them in the head. So, you know, guess we can just make loose stuff up as we go along and it will be just as procedurally accurate as these lying, thieving skunks. :-)

  • amigag

I have been trying to keep up, have been for quite a long time. I have read
RedState for about 2-3 years. However, I just signed up on 5/20/09. The reason I waited so long was because I knew my level of expertise & understanding was well below most all of the posters here and quite frankly I felt somewhat intimidated. I am a Senior Lady and have voted Republican all of my life. I was just making an inquiry, thanks for answering.

  • Achance

get you rough handling around here. Welcome to the board.

    • janis

  • amigag

Thanks for the welcome, & the explanation. I know it is hard sometimes to figure out where new people are coming from, no troll here. I am very conservative, and walk the talk. I read and research most everything that I’m interested in.
I probably should have been more clear in my post; sometimes I write as my thoughts come up. Anyway, thanks for the input. I sent links from R.S. before to my Son and he asked me if I posted here. I said no way, they scare me.:) A good weekend to you all.

      give it a go…

Very funny:) Thanks, hope this works, I tried it before but my post disappeared.
Not sure if I need to enter your name in “Comment title” or not. Wasn’t there a link for new posters before? I don’t see it now. Thanks

        • DONTREADONME

I actually hit reply to this and I got rick a-am rolled. Nice, $pecialist going after the newbe.

  • crazymountain

We don’t need the GOP, not with Steele “leading”. We need CONSERVATIVES, no matter what party. CONSERVATIVES. GOP does not equal CONSERVATIVE. After all, just look at 2008….McCain – Palin, instead of Palin – McCain. CONSERVATIVE. Remember that…CONSERVATIVE

  • amigag

I sent a “Reply to This” to your 9:07 PM comment to me, but it disappeared!! I said yes that the “Speciallist” lived up to his name:) Sort of funny really. I enjoy
the site a lot, it’s not only informative but gives people direction on what can be done.

    • DONTREADONME

the hazing process of our new members :) yep, we’re a little quick on the troll trigger sometimes… this whole text thing does present opportunities to be misunderstood, trust me I know.
