Democrats have no one to blame now

Senator Franken was sworn in yesterday giving the Democrats 60 seats in the Senate and total control over the federal government.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee marked the event with the release of a new video “60″

No Checks. No Balances. No debate. No excuses. The Democrats own everything and have no one to blame now.

I can just tell by watching him move. That ungraceful uncoordinated idiot is a riot to watch though.

    for a change.

The RNC/GOP HQ types seem willing to sit by, watch it all burn, so they can come back later and say, “See? Now that America’s gone, you’re sorry, aren’t you? Told ya’ so.”

It’s like they think the damage the Obama cult is doing can be reversed.

      It can’t.

    For a start. :)

Exactly. It’s a good ad, but it still revolves around the “We’re not them” theme, instead of “This is what we stand for.”

For too many elections the American people have been confronted with the “Vote for me — I don’t suck as bad as the other guy” style politics.

This ad defines who “They” are, now we need to define who “We” are!

The “we’re not Bush” blather worked pretty well for the dems. The empty suited One said nothing about what he would do, just lots of “hope” and “change”.

I heard an ABC radio “news” report yesterday starkly blaming the Republicans for holding up Sotomayor’s nomination, which may or may not be true. But it shows how willing to and skilled at blaming the Right for any and everything the old MSM remain.

I agree we need to hold their (Dems, MSM, whatever) feet to the fire viz a viz “The Blame,” but at the same time, we really do need someone like Sarah Palin to genuinely and forcefully articulate our beliefs. Small govt, lower taxes, respect for religion, equal rights for sexual-orientation minorities, etc.

We must have both, otherwise it’s way too easy to get lost in the tide of the times. My guess is the stimulus will become most successful at “helping people” right before the 2010 elections, so we can’t count on simply bashing Dems. We must stand for something and get that message out as well.

now the” land of 1000 lakes” has some place to go jump into when they are no longer able to afford to live after SNL jokester breakes their walets>

When in doubt, blame can always be assigned to “my people”.

    You know……..

    Teh Eeeeevil Jooooooooooos.

    ;)

In all honesty, I sincerely believe the Democrats will start some serious in-fighting and political cannibalism.

I’ll make the sweet tea and lemonade. You make the popcorn. Deal ?

    Cheers !

    This I don’t forgive.

I despise your state for sending us this despicable person. Did you think it was cute and quirky? Oh, those quirky Minnesotans….

Al Franken represents what our Congress has become. A joke.

    • ColdWarrior

I have a certain perspective on that state. Wisconsin had a drinking age of 18 until the federal government’s forcing of the nationwide 21 year age. Minnesota’s was always 21, so we’d have all these Minnesotans coming over to our side of the river to drink.

Most Minnesotans just aren’t very smart. (All Redstaters excepted, of course!)

Okay, the following is just for fun.

Our beloved Badgers almost always beat their rodents in football.

How can you tell the Minnesota football chearleaders at a dance? They’re the ones on all fours.

I’ll be flying through the MSP airport on my way to the Redstate gathering. I’m trying to come up with some kind of t-shirt to make fun of the Minnesotans as I walk through the airport — hmmm, maybe www.thoseshirts.com will have one.

      Thank you.

they need to dumb this down for the message to be communicated. I doubt most people understand the 60, them “owning” something nevermind a law, how laws create problems and I doubt most people even know what elections are being held in 2010.

      and is rather appropriate.

  • http://online.logcabin.org/about/ suzieQ

that they think they do. Byrd and Kennedy are closer to dying than they are to voting. And I can think of half a dozen blue dogs that the dems can’t count on to uphold their socialist agenda. That brings them down to about 52, which is nowhere near enough for cloture. The GOP just needs to fight them every step of the way on every bill, so that they actually need the 60.

The term checks and balances has historically referred to dividing power among three, separate, but equal branches of government, executive, a legislature, and a judiciary. The selection of Franken to the US Senate hasn’t changed the check and balances created by the founding fathers. We still have three branches of government. That sort of misstatement always ruins an ad for me.

And me, I’m still having a hard time saying Senator Frank___. Nope, still not rolling off the tongue.

    • Warrior

likely to be approved and the empty-suited-One likely to appoint another before his term is out, they will have all three.

    • danielhill2008

I recall several years ago hearing a lot about “checks and balances”, or the lack thereof, when it was the Dems in the minority. I expect that kind of misusage from individual politicians and/or “journalists”, but this is a big-league ad, and I’m disappointed they got that point wrong. Then again, like mom2oneson said above, dumb it down.
