The Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board, the government watchdog which oversees how the stimulus monies are spent reports contractors who received money from President Obama’s failed $787 billion stimulus program created or saved 30,383 jobs by the beginning of October.
According to the Wall Street Journal, this report covers only spending on infrastructure and social programs being carried out by private companies, which were awarded about $16 billion in stimulus funds. That amounts to $526,610 per job created or saved.
Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers claims the stimulus and “other policy actions caused employment in August to be slightly more than one million jobs higher than it otherwise would have been.”
I can’t wait to hear the CEA’s Obama-speak explanation as to how the contractors’ measly 30,383 jobs supports the council’s million plus estimate.

I always enjoy pointing out how they manage to spend a quarter of a million dollars per job “saved” — jobs that probably only pay $20K-$50K — so where is the rest of the money going?
I could understand it if those were all construction jobs. You have to pay for materials. But a lot of these are “make-work” jobs normally reserved for low-security prison inmates, like highway and park cleanups.

Obama Busts Industry Has no intention of creating jobs

Health bill losers includes insurance companies (all their employees including one of my doctors), medical device manufacturers many of which are centrally located 30 miles from my house in Warsaw, Indiana….That industry cannot absorb the hits in taxes of 40 billion over 10 years nor the hits as employers providing healthcare. If, when I am say 75, (62 now), I need a knee joint….if one can be found, if I am allowed to be scheduled in (kinda of a waste on an old guy according to Zeke Emanuel), I would never be able to afford this thing…it my as well be gold plated.
Until they get the soup kitchens operational in Kosciusko County, Indiana, ex-workers and their families from there are going to have to drive to Elkhart County, Indiana, the RV capital of the world, touted by Obama as why the stimulus needs to pass…and I guess it was so they could get the soup kitchens.
Next big fat heavy foot is this cap & tax which holds that famous promise of Obama’s. “electric bills will necessarily skyrocket.” and I do not think Obama was referring to afternoon delight with those skyrockets. Fossil fuel assaults will commence on Obama’s order.
