Haley Barbour: ‘Let’s Get This Done’

Don't let the Obama malaise become permanent

A year before the 2012 election, the good folks at American Crossroads released a terrific new video featuring Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour to remind us of the importance of this presidential election.

In the video, Governor Barbour, talks about what a second Obama term would mean for America:

“[Obama’s] policies aren’t fixing our problems, they’re making them worse. And a second Obama term means making this malaise permanent. … We’re the greatest country on earth, and we can get America right again. To do that we have to win in 2012. … So come on now, let’s get this done.”

Barbour also calls for lowering, simplifying and stabilizing tax rates; cutting spending and putting a moratorium on new regulations; and keeping America’s military strong.

Watch the “Let’s Get This Done” video:

The Governor has it exactly right about the epic fail of Obama’s stimulus.

I know Haley Barbour had back surgery a week before he decided not to run, but maybe he should give it a second thought. We need someone who is well seasoned in the ways of national politics who has a fighting chance against the big zero.

As I wrote earlier today, Romney has the support – after one year of campaigning – of 1/4 of Republicans…and probably none of the Conservatives.

Given recent problems with the others, is Barbour worth considering again?

Is the video not working for anyone else?

I found the actual video here:

Its an incredibly well done video and it really shows what a real presidential candidate looks like in terms of demeanour, attitude and confidence.

I’m not sure how I feel about American Crossroads however.

According to wikipedia (there was no entry at Conservapedia):

“American Crossroads raised $28 million in the 2010 election cycle. 91% of the funds raised were from billionaires.”

He is one of the founders. Like anyone should have any interest in what Karl Rove is up to. He has already declared war on Perry.

Perry a long time ago when he and the Bushies (along with others) decided Kay Baby “deserved” to be governor because she wanted to come back to Texas to rear her children instead of being a Senator in D.C. She never did resign that seat in D.C. though she said she would. LIE!

Now they’re still at it. Pffft to all of ‘em!

Sorry. I think it is working now.

It’s about time somebody got it right.

If you come across more of these, even if it is just once a week, they’re greatly appreciated.

I share them with co-workers and other people I meet who may not be all the politically-oriented to let them draw a contrast and comparison between Conservatism and Liberalism….try to win them over to the Conservative cause, so to speak.

I’ll be adding this one to my “library”. Thanks again.

. Unfortunately, Obama’s goons took care of him early, planting all the stories with their Journalister friends about Barbour wearing white hooded pajamas as a lad in rural Mississippi. You know. he has a southern drawl so me must be a racist…

He did have the best line of the 2010 election cycle, though. When asked about the Alaska Senate primary race, Barbour said, “Ya know, I don’t think the people of the great state of Alaska need some fella from Yazoo City, Mississippi to tell ‘em who they should choose as their Senator.”

I hope that video goes as viral as the few minutes of Perry’s NH speech, they all speculated he was drunk or on drugs. Of course it will not but we can spread it around to others that do not know better. Thank you for that idea Lineholder and thank you Dan for posting it.

Did he say anything about half the voting slots inside the Republican Party currently being vacant?

Did he make any pointed reference to the concept of individual Americans carrying out their civic duty to get involved locally in party politics by attending their local Republican party committee meetings to learn how to become a “card carrying,” voting member of the Party?

Did he explain that conservative Americans can unite and organize locally for Get Out The Vote efforts at their local Republican Party committee meetings — where, again, on average, half of the voting member slots inside the Party are vacant? You know, those basic, building block, positions inside the Party that elect, directly or indirectly, all of the Party officers? And can vote, locally, to endorse the best Republicans in the all-important, traditionally-very-low-turnout primary elections?

No, I did not hear that.

    Thank you.
