Blowing up the Romney vs. Obama dead heat meme
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | July 14th at 02:17 PM |
Friday I spoke with WBYZ 94.5 Radio’s Wild Bill McKubby about my recent article, “Romney extends lead among Independents to 14 percent.” During the interview we blow up mainstream media’s meme that the presidential race tied. We also take Obama to task for his $trillion deficits, his 50% increase in the national debt and his incessant Pinocchio campaign falsehoods. You can listen to the interview | Read More »

Obama’s campaign restart stumble
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | May 25th at 03:00 PM |
It has been one stumble after another since President Obama officially launched, some would say restarted, his reelection campaign three weeks ago. With the Dems’ Bain mutiny making a shambles of the what was going to be Obama’s main attack on Romney, this may have been Obama’s worst week ever. The RNC produced the following video that makes that point:
Congressman Paul Ryan explains pro-growth tax reform
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 14th at 09:45 AM |
Wisconsin Congressman, and Chairman of the House Budget Committee, released the following video this morning, in which he explains common sense ideas about pro-growth tax reforms that are fair, competitive, simple, and that have bipartisan support: It’s that simple.
Perry now perceived as most electable
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 12th at 01:30 PM |
In the latest CNN poll Governor Perry maintains his lead over the rest of the Republican presidential contenders at 30%. But the big take away from the new poll is that Perry is now perceived as the most electable, with 42% saying he has the best chance of beating Obama next year. Only 26% say Romney has the best chance of defeating the president. Perry | Read More »
Where’s the new [stimulus] bill Mr. Obama?
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 10th at 11:30 AM |
After promising time and time again to focus on jobs. After promising time and time again to pivot to jobs. After promising time and time again to give a jobs plan speech right after his Martha’s Vineyard vacations. After promising new fresh proposals, not a rehash of plans he has pitched previously. After demanding time and time again before a joint session that Congress pass | Read More »

Obama’s ‘pass this [stimulus] bill’ speech
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 9th at 07:30 PM |
Unfortunately, except for the price tag, President Obama’s big jobs stimulus speech was nothing new and all too familiar and repetitive. It really was that repetitive. Obama used some version of “pass this bill” — 17 times in his stimulus speech.
Reid schedules votes before and after Obama speech to force GOP attendance
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 8th at 06:37 PM |
President Obama will address a Joint Session of Congress tonight to present his new jobs reelection stimulus plan, which is all too similar to the Obmacrats 2009 failed stimulus plan. A number of members of Congress let it be known that they did not intend to show up for Obama’s presentation. Concerned that empty seats would ruin the optics for the Obama reelection campaign videos, | Read More »
True unemployment breaks 17% again – Obama’s jobless recovery continues
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | October 9th at 02:28 PM |
The government unemployment report that the economy lost another 95,000 jobs and that the unemployment rate remained stuck at 9.6 percent in September is a disaster for the Obama/Democrats. The government’s broader measure of unemployment, sometimes referred to “true unemploytment,” now stands at 17.1 percent. As the Washington Post’s Frank Ahrens puts it, you are not included in the “official” unemployment rate if, a) you | Read More »
Boehner: ‘where are the jobs?’
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | June 27th at 12:52 PM |
In today’s “Weekly Republican Address,” House Republican Leader John Boehner asks, “Where are the jobs?” It’s a good question. After all, to justify spending trillions of borrowed money on President Obama’s so-called stimulus, energy and health care bills, Obama and the Democrats promised the unprecedented spending would create jobs: The president and Democrats in Congress claim this spending binge is necessary to put Americans back | Read More »
Geithner lies on facts as well as on tax forms
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | March 4th at 07:54 AM |
Timothy Geithner, President Obama’s tax cheat Treasury Secretary, doesn’t pay attention to his facts any better than he pays his taxes. The Associated Press reports Geithner claims Obama has inherited “the worst fiscal situation in American history.” The facts disprove Geithner’s statement. The January unemployment rate was 7.6%. The revised gross domestic product showed economic activity declined at a 6.2% annual rate in the fourth | Read More »
Spending money that we don’t have for projects that we don’t have to have
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | January 8th at 09:48 AM |
Republicans push back against turning a stimulus package into a bloated boondoggle. Republican Senators spent the day at a retreat at the Library of Congress with three distinguished economists–Martin Feldstein, Larry Lindsey, and Peter Wallison–talking about how to get the economy going. At the conclusion of the retreat Senators McConnell and Alexander spoke about what an economic stimulus ought to contain: Senator Alexander: We — | Read More »
Obama: ‘Trillion-dollar deficits for years to come’
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | January 6th at 04:17 PM |
President-elect Obama predicts “trillion-dollar deficits for years to come.” “We’re already looking at a trillion-dollar budget deficit or close to a trillion-dollar budget deficit, and that potentially we’ve got trillion-dollar deficits for years to come, even with the economic recovery that we are working on at this point,” Obama said. The federal deficit was about $455 billion for fiscal year that ended on Sept. 30, | Read More »
Obama’s 2.5 million jobs are not enough
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | November 23rd at 11:46 AM |
In this week’s edition of “Your Weekly Address from the President-elect,” Obama announced a goal of “2.5 million more jobs by January of 2011″: “I have already directed my economic team to come up with an Economic Recovery Plan that will mean 2.5 million more jobs by January of 2011 – a plan big enough to meet the challenges we face that I intend to | Read More »
Americans now trust McCain on the economy
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | October 29th at 09:56 PM |
Bill O’Reilly says tomorrow Rasmussen will release a poll saying Americans now trust McCain on the economy. Watch the video: Will Joe the Plumber enable McCain to accomplish what even the Clinton’s could not?
Shame on the Democrats and their community organizers
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 30th at 11:44 AM |
This is just wrong. The Washington Post reports voters spread the blame for the broader economic problems facing the country: In an open-ended question, a quarter of all voters said George W. Bush is responsible for the economy’s relatively poor performance, more than any other single cause. About a quarter name Congress (8 percent), the federal government (8 percent) and Democrats and Republicans (5 percent | Read More »
Improving the inevitable big bailout
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 27th at 11:14 AM |
My biggest concern with the proposed $700 billion bailout of the financial system is that it might not solve the credit crunch because it provides less than sufficient means to ensure financial institutions are able to raise capital, nor does it contain enough incentives to convince financial institutions to become more willing to lend. Five University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business professors, Douglas Diamond, | Read More »
