The Democrat-controlled Senate voted 89-10 to pass an extension of the payroll tax cut. A new IBD/TIPP survey finds 51% of Americans now oppose giving President Obama a second term: By 51%-41%, respondents in October picked “someone new deserves a chance” over Obama “deserves to be re-elected.” Among independents, it was 54%-36%. Majority expects Obama to lose reelection

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll finds only 37% expect Obama to win reelection. A majority, 55%, expect the Republican presidential nominee to win. Democrats do expect Obama to win, but only by a 58% to 33% percent margin. Republicans, by a margin of 83% to 13%, expect their presidential nominee to win.
