More good news, the Senate Banking Committee Chair that doesn’t understand VIP interest rates is now not running:
Breaking News: Bart Gordon (D-TN 6) to Retire
Bart Gordon just announced that he will retire next year.
As a constituent of this district, I can report that he has been under considerable pressure over Health Care and Cap & Trade. This seat now moves from leaning Dem to probable pick up for Republicans in that there is no dominating Dem to fill the power vacuum.
The Health Care Bill
FYI, here it is:

The Game Changes
In every debate during last year’s presidential race, then Senator Obama declared that Iran obtaining the ability to make a nuclear bomb was “a game changer”. Mr. President, the game has now changed, what is your plan?

Bart Gordon’s Lack of Spine
Apparently Bart Gordon doesn’t have the spine to meet face to face with his constituents regarding healthcare:

Obama’s Small Business Tax Fallacy
“Joe the Plumber (JTP)” has finally achieved something the McCain team could not or would not, begin a logical debate on tax issues. Whether JTP is actually a licensed plumber or the future owner of a business with $250,000+ taxable income is irrelevant; but what is important is the effect of the Obama tax plan on small businesses (normally owned by the middle class). In his discussion with JTP, Obama admitted that many small businesses will realize an increase in their federal income taxes (to spread the wealth). After being pushed on this issue by McCain during Debate 3, Obama and his team are now framing their Small Business Tax Plan as a net tax cut for small businesses. This cut results from capital gains tax reductions and health care costs credits which offset the increase in income taxes. But do they? This can only be true under fairly liberal assumptions.
New McCain Ad
To date the majority of the McCain attacks/advertising has concentrated on the Obama associations. Those that have addressed the economy have only provided vague points of the McCain Economic Plan. I suggest the McCain campaign design ads around the following outline:
Intro: In a few weeks you will make one of the most important economic decisions, your vote for President.
Explain: the economic decisions the next president will make (tax policy, energy policy, & health care — all economic issues)
Tell the Voter: Before you cast your vote, ask yourself the following questions about your economic future:
Neil Stevens
Jeff Emanuel
