Bristol Palin and Dancing with the Stars

Hunker down, friends, for the world as we know it, and our democracy itself, is about to end.  Why, you ask?  Because, and my hands are shaking as I type this post, Brandy was voted off Dancing with the Stars and–gasp–Bristol Palin has made it to the finals.  From the west coast to the east coast, liberals are wringing their hands.  How could this happen?

The Tea Partiers are responsible for this.  It’s their fault.  It’s a vast right-wing Tea Party conspiracy.  They’re voting more than once!  They’ve blocked Brandy’s phone line!  It’s even rumored that DEAD tea partiers are voting.

The question on the lips of the Main Stream Media is, “How can it be that someone who is so unqualified possibly win the Dancing with the Stars title?”  What’s next?  Could this lead to someone unqualified being elected President of the United States?  The thought of this is just too scary to even contemplate.

Help us, President Obama.  We need you to weigh in on this.  Forget the debt.  Forget the deficit.  Forget about jobs.  We need a beer summit to get this Dancing with the Stars fiasco under control.

I have to admit I am enjoying this media meltdown and outrage over Bristol Palin tremendously.  I never watched Dancing with the Stars until all the hoopla started.  But I will be watching the finals next week.  Not only will I be watching, I’ll be voting for Bristol over, and over, and over…..

“I don’t know how to feel right now. It hasn’t processed yet for me.”

    mmmm, mmmm, mmmm…

When it finally processes, I wouldn’t want to be a teacup in her trailer.

And Charlie Crist should be next season’s Old Guy.

the liberal media is so scared of the Palins, I’m sick and tired of hearing it though. The real truth is the liberal media isnt scared of the Palins at all, any more than they are scared of Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears (whom they also can’t stop talking about). The fact of the matter is they love the Palins, never in the history of national conservative candidates has one come along that has been a constant train wreck like this. They did this with Quayle when he ran as VP but never in thier wildest dreams could they imagine someone like this who seems to seek out attention whenever she can get it. In this sick world, the liberal media loves sarah palin and in turn, by keeping her in the headlines, she loves them as well.

      Trainwreck?

Unless you mean that she manages to cause trainwrecks between leftist trains.

      Didn’t think so.

Sorry if THAT WOMAN sets you all sputtering about what’s she’s doing to conservatives. It’s not like any of these leftist media folks exactly liked or respected conservatives before Sarah came on the scene.

But it’s more like what she does to the mind of liberals and concern trolls that I find most entertaining. Especially when she turns out to be right, which is most of the time.

Then again, you seem to have a problem with conservative women running for office as you can’t resist the opportunity to keep dumping on them every opportunity you get. Like Christine and Sharon. After all we can’t let any of these kind of folks into office – what will the neighbors think?

Sorry, guy, but you’re the loser buddy, not these women.

Does it really boil down to their views on sex? – How dare we have strong women running for office who won’t promote the libertine/feminazi party line.

Or are you Meghan McCain posting under a pseudonym? You sure had me fooled if you aren’t.

At this time, I don’t favor Sarah running for elective office. But what she’d doing now is perfect.

      • Goldwater_Conservative

what you are talking about. Every single thing you say is the same of cliche arguement for Palin which was my whole point. It has nothing to do with her sex, or how conservative she is, I love women and I love conservatives. Its that she is stupid, and I could go on and on and on and on with her own quotes that would point to that fact, thats why I dont want her in the spotlight making conservatives and Christians look stupid.

        • http://www.gmsplace.com/ civil_truth

Look, I said I don’t favor Sarah running for public office. But I’m not going to stand around quietly while you tell her (or any other conservative woman) to shut up and disappear into the woodwork . “Stupid” here is in the mind of the beholder, because falsely labeling her as stupid that protects you from having to deal with Sarah as a real person.

So live with it; she ain’t going nowhere – you’re the one who will have to get out of Dodge if you don’t like Sarah hanging out in town.

          ‘Fess up, Meghan…

          • chbroussard

I was a little taken aback by Goldwater Conservative’s response to my post. I wrote it just as a fun, tongue-in-cheek post since the media seemed to be going balistic over something so ridiculous. But, obviously, G-C doesn’t have much of a sense of humor.

So to you, civil truth, thank you for standing up for another conservative woman. I appreciate it.

And to you, goldwater conservative, first of all, this was about Bristol Palin, not Sarah Palin. And second….get a life.

        • Tbone

People keep saying this but when you look at the record objectively, most rational people would say, “I wish I were that smart.”

Let’s see, she got through college. Now you don’t have to be smart to get through college but going to college is a smart thing to do.

She married a good looking, hard working guy that she has managed to stay married to. You don’t have to be smart to do this but finding the right person and staying married is a smart thing to do.

She became a working mom which doesn’t take take a smart person to do but making it work takes some smarts.

She won a local election which you don’t have to be smart to do, just smarter than the people you beat and smart enough to get people to vote for you.

She managed, against a stacked deck of crooks and cronies, to get elected Governor of her state. Now, there are a lot of really smart people who couldn’t or haven’t done that. As such, I think that it is improbable that a stupid person could do that.

She accepted the nomination for Vice President of the United States. 99.9999999999% of supposedly smart people are never asked.

She walked out on an international stage and delivered a home run speech. The vast majority of people would have soiled themselves just thinking about that pressure. Could a stupid person have done that?

She kicked Biden’s butt in the debate. Is that because he is dumber than she or because she is smarter than he?

She has crisscrossed this Country making a real difference in the past election while racking up a huge sack full of political favors. This is a smart thing to do if you want to run for a national office.

She has parlayed her talents and opportunities into a great financial success. As conservatives who believe that people should take advantage of their opportunities and be rewarded for doing so, shouldn’t we say “That’s a smart thing to do”?

So, you see why I have problems with people calling her stupid when she has consistently done smart things. It just sounds like jealousy to me.

Savor this moment, it may not come around again for a long time. :)

Though actually, it’s often a matter of relative positions on the limb and shrillness rather than full-blown disagreement.

          • Tbone

being right all the time. :-)

    • http://stixblog.com Black River Wolf

She is a train wreck???? Really on what planet do you live???? Planet of the Lame Steam Media??

She does a great job of making the Left in this country have a conniption fit if she says the sky is Blue. Do I think she should run fro President?? No But she does a great job of getting under the skin of the Left and the LMS or MSM or drive-by media.

      • Goldwater_Conservative

if she was just out there doing her reality tv stump speech, write a book every two months thing but if she really decides to run for president then its a major problem. Right now, assuming the economy isnt roaring in 2011 there is only one real chance for us to have to listen to the saying President Re-Elect Obama, and its when we hear Sarah Palin is the GOP nomination. And yes that scares me to death, sorry if I’m being dramatic.

        • http://thesandsinstitute.org Vassar Bushmills

and so are you, AuH20.. Just stating fact.

          • Goldwater_Conservative

I’m scared and the media is wetting their pants they are so excited about the prospect of a Palin candidacy. Dont just recite the palinista mantra of “they must be scared of me” its actually much worse.

          • earlgrey

For the past couple of years she has been more celebrity than executive and we need someone who may not be as exciting, but who people can trust.

Sarah Palin would be a gamble vote in much the same way as Obama was. I like her. I want her to stay ative, but I hope she doesn’t run.

          • acat

That is, a candidate who will suppress enough Republican votes to let their chosen messiah Obama win re-election.

If you think a little about this, though .. they should really have picked another Republican to anoint…. ideally, one more like McLame himself, enamoured of media fawning and flattery, wanting someone else to agree who the real star is …

Sarah has seen through the media glamour, and, as long as she hasn’t forgotten, she’ll take ‘em apart whenever she wants.

All that said, I’d still rather see her as kingmaker not king.

            Mew

          • http://thesandsinstitute.org Vassar Bushmills

As a rule, i don’t debate fools, and anyone who puts words in my mouth and thoughts in my heart is a fool.

        • http://stixblog.com Black River Wolf

You are spouting off every MSM mantra about her.

I highly doubt that Sara will Run and if she does she will not be the nominee. With that said she would be a much better President than the WON has been if she is.

The problem you have is that you take the MSM seriously in thier assessment of her in the first place, She is dumb and alight weight. kind of hard to say that when most of the candidates she endorsed won their races.

So get off the MSM high horse, and actually help the Conservative Cause instead of poo pooing anyone that you find a bit less of a perfect candidate, if she ever will be a candidate again.

With this kind of thinking we will loose for sure in 2012 no matter what candidate is the nominee. My candidate did not win,so I am taking my ball home and trying to destroy the candidate that did win.

Enough with the circle firing lines.

        • http://www.gmsplace.com/ civil_truth

          1) You like to push buttons on Palin to get people to forget that you don’t like Republican women running for office with views that have the taint of socially conservatism. Or else you wouldn’t have been attacking O’Donnell and Angle throughout the election season as well. But then I suppose you prefer socialists and communists (Coons, Reid) to take away your freedom than to deign to assign intelligence to conservative women.

And inexperience does not equate with intelligence. By definition, a fair number of our “Tea Party” candidates are going to be inexperienced in running for political office by definition, because otherwise they’d be the problem, not the solution. Just a many new recruits in a war do unwise things when they first go into battle.

But you know, there’s something called seasoning and learning, and give them a bit of battle experience and they do just fine. In fact that’s the way any soldier learns. Even so, if you look at folks like Palin and O’Donnell as their campaign go on, you’ll see a growth in what they were saying. But you don’t want to see that because you want to stay convinced that such women are externally fixed as stupid and unworthy of office.

And if you want to complain about “unqualified” candidates – why do you assume that someone like Mr. Coons is so much more “qualified”? or Joe Biden? And then what about someone like Al Franken – did anyone on the left complain about his political inexperience?

          2) Why do you claim to care so much about how some undefined “others” will be turned off by a conservative. Face it, most of these folks of guilty of being a conservative Republican and will never gain acceptance from the MSM or the trendy crowd, who love to create straw men (or women) to avoid an honest debate. That the operating procedure for the left today with the willing complicity of the press to engage in the ad homimem (feminam).

Methinks there’s a lot of projection going on here.

Or to put it a different way: how many Christian theocracies have you seen in the past two hundred years and forty years, or so? How many tyrannies have popped up in that time (either with an iron fist or a velvet glove)? Which do you think is a greater threat today in America?

Or looking at the trendlines – would you say that Christian theocracy or Islamic theocracy is a growing threat?

Get real or prepare to live in a reeducation camp.

          • Goldwater_Conservative

because of those two weak candidates. If Angle and O’Donnel had won, then I guess I should shut up, but they lost and especially the Nevada race that was horrible. With all the national hate towrds “establshment”, plus the conservative wave and in a purple state against a senile old man there is almost no way the GOP loses to Reid there except by running a very weak candidate in Angle. Every time you see Harry Reids face on tv talking about blocking the GOP over something just think “thanks a lot Sharon Angle”.

          • http://www.gmsplace.com/ civil_truth

That knocks out much of your argument about the candidate. Dems would have run an anti-incumbent campaign against Castle in and anti-incumbent year, and then when he lost you’d be pointing fingers at the same people you’re trying to point fingers at now. But it’s really hard to run a strong race when your own “side” decides they’ prefer a communist to one of THEM. But I don’t want to dwell on that race anymore – the positions are rather set.

And again, the Republican establishment and the other Washington lobbies like the NRA preferred dealing with Reid rather than have Angle upset the apple cart, and so stood aside while Reid put together his fraud squad.

But overall, this doesn’t change the basic issue that the Republican establishment prefers Democrats and socialists to conservatives who want smaller government. Nor that an insurgent army is not going to be composed of battle-tested veterans the first-time on the field (especially when most of the “experienced veterans” are fighting for the other side).

I think you would have eagerly joined the Tory side during the American Revolution – same line of argument – rather than be associated with that rabble. And remember, the British won most of the first battles – and if everyone had complained about the inexperience of the troops against the British and withdrawn support, we’d be Union Jack territory today.

          • Goldwater_Conservative

is going to hate any conservative and they will be waiting for jump them. But they cant take them down unless there is something there to start with. Dont you think they would love to topple Jindal, or Rubio, or Toomey but all they could end up saying about them was they were too far rigtht (aka they didnt say anything stupid so thats all we have to go on)

          • http://www.gmsplace.com/ civil_truth

Highly qualified even by your criteria, subjected to libelous media distortion of his record.

About Toomey: Republican establishment tried desperately to find ANYONE willing to run against him in the primary after Specter jumped parties because he was “too conservative” (and don’t get me into 2004 and how leading conservatives stabbed Toomey in the back against Specter because they thought he was too conservative). And after they failed, they were still lukewarm in standing up for him in the face of the usual media assaults. It was only a huge major grassroots action inspired by the Tea Party activists and poor Dem turnout in Philadelphia that enabled Toomey to win. Once again, lots of party folks who’d prefer a big union guy /socialist like Sestak to win than a conservative who will spoil their games.

Jindal, remains to see what will happen in 2012.

          • Goldwater_Conservative

pigeon hole me as a RINO or a Republican Establishment. I dont care about them any more than I do the tea party, I’m talking about respectable candidates. When the best we can come up with is “the media is just picking on them becasue they are scared of them” we have what we would call a bad candidate. Angle and O’Donnell were baaaaad candidates and the media knew it as soon as they won the nomination. I heard it from the koolaid drinkers back then, “the media is just scared of them because they are woman and they are conservative”. No, the media loved talking about Odonnell and they especailly love the fact that harry reid is still around.

          • http://stixblog.com Black River Wolf

O’Donnell and Angle won because of the MSM

This is a joke isn’t it

          • Goldwater_Conservative

I’m pretty sure I didnt. What I am trying to say is that this notion that the media must be scared of you if they keep you in their headlines is assinine. Case in point Odonnelll and Angle, both of them were godsends to the MSM and I’m arguing that we dont give them any more christmas presents.

          • http://stixblog.com Black River Wolf

What was bad about them other than what the MSM said about them. really. They had conservative ideas, maybe not the best at public speaking, but who cares about that. it is what is in their heart and what they will vote for

See people like you give me fits because you see what the MSM says and go with it before actually even looking at who or what the candidate is.

There is no perfect candidate and you go with who wins the primaries.

I would have backed Castle over Coons, but preferred someone that is actually a Conservative, but I am not going to try and torpedo someone because the MSM says they are stupid, or a bad candidate. And if my candidate looses ,I will back the one that wins. The reason there is primaries, and no one should poo poo if their preferred candidate wins.

          • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

Ken Buck wasn’t a highly-qualified candidate. It was as much his many inexperienced mistakes as any other of the many reasons why he didn’t win that seat.

          • chbroussard

…now that you have totally hijacked my diary and turned it 360 degrees from the original intent, I feel compelled to respond with a few points:

            1) I will repeat again, this was about *Bristol* Palin and Dancing with the Stars, *not* Sarah Palln and whether she’s qualified or is your pick for president. I think you’ve expressed your opinion of Sarah in many posts, ad nauseum I would add, so I think we all know where you stand…again.

            2) As for Sarah being stupid, um……..Would you like to tell the readers here just what it is that you have accomplished in your lifetime? Been a mayor? Been a governor? Been a VP candidate? Written a book or two? Have you come anywhere close to what she has accomplished? I think the answer to that is probably no.

            3) And if you think the MSM won’t dig to the core of the earth to find something “stupid” that Jindal, Rubio, or Toomey has said sometime in their lifetime, even if, like Christine O”Donnell, they have to go back to high school days, you are naive at best.

            4) Finally, if you want to bash Sarah Palin, I suggest you start your own darn diary and stop hyjacking someone else’s.

          • http://www.gmsplace.com/ civil_truth

But Mr. G_C needs to know that I at least will not let his hostility to conservative women go unchallenged.

          • chbroussard

and there is no need for you to stand down. My comments were directed to Mr. Goldwater Conservative only. That is why I added my comments regarding Sarah. He does need to be challenged and I appreciate that you and others have done so. So I say go ahead and challenge all you want. When hijacked it’s our duty to strike back.

          • Goldwater_Conservative

I have “accomplished” quite a bit in my young life polticially speaking. Even though I’m only 33, I have been a 6 year City Councilmen and 1 year as Mayor-Pro Tem now (not to mention I have been very active in my local GOP supporting candidates for a long time now). Those that dont like me say I’m too powerfull of an official and indeed I have taken some drastic steps in my City. I took on a complete good ole boy system full of corruption and waste at its worst. I had to oust the City Manager, City attorney, City Secratary, Police Chief and Assistant Police Chief, Public Works Director, and our entire corrupt court system. Directly because of my efforts, my City now has the lowest tax rate in the county, the lowest debt/equity ratio of any around us and while doing that we have greatly improved our Police and Fire services to our citizens. Our goverment has gone from one of “dont ask and dont tell” to one that is completly open and transparrent to all its citizens.

Was it easy? No, I was vilified and despised by many while this was going on and I had many sleepless nights and constant stress. But it was very much worth it to say that I had a big hand in transforming my community for the better.

So what I dislike about Palin (and over half of the country does too) is that I am not sure where she really stands. I completly understand what being a mayor is like and know what kind of things you can expect from it. She has been charged, both as mayor and governor with ethics violaitons. I would have taken every step known to mankind to make sure that those charges were exonerated no matter how much they were trumped up. If you dont have your intergity, what do you have? She cut and ran from those charges and abdicated her post when it got a little hot in the kitchen. Yet she still has the gaul to show her face all over tv and anywhere else she can as she promotes herself. I question her as a person and I question her conservatisim.

Now, just to show you I’m not anti-woman, I am a big Michelle Bauchman fan. Why? Because she has been a true grass-roots organizer and supporter of the social and even fiscal conservative movement for her entire adult life. She has all the merit badges to back up that she not only talks the talk, but truly walks to walk as well.
