TEA Party, Morristown NJ ~ 1500 strong same as last time.

About 1500 in Morristown, NJ, same as last time.  Better than expected, I’d say.  A much broader spectrum of race and age this time.  It may be because this particular event was held on a Saturday, not on a weekday, like April 15 when everyone was working for fighting to get their taxes in.  Let’s not minimize the gravity of that.

Neither the Republican nor the Democratic candidate for governor of NJ showed up.  The Libertarian candidate did.  Score for him.

We’ll see how much media coverage it gets in the wake of Sarah Palin’s decision to step down.   Payne from FOX gave a rousing speech!  Matt Perez, the Cuban immigrant, who has been on the Glenn Beck show on the citizen shows gave another fantastic speech.

Enjoy fireworks tonight.

Good Show

Lansing MI was around 1200 (the Parks guys number) to about 1500 (my number). It was less than last time but a good showing given that most poeple flee UP north anytime they can and I don’t blame them one bit. Volunteered this time and meet alot of intresting poeple. Some of whom have the same idea as Erick on how to change the Republican party from with-in by showing up to the local meeting and becoming Precinct Captain/committeepersons.

It looked like the heavens might open up at any moment driving to Lansing and so I was thrilled that we got 1500 people to show up.

Hope to have a youtube video of Kimbirly Vasi singing her new song “We The People (Silent Majority No More)” up tomorrow.

Gilbert and Phoenix, AZ July 4 Tea Parties -- "target-rich environments"

ColdWarrior Sunday, July 5th at 9:53PM EDT (link)

I attended two Tea Parties on July 4 here in AZ – first from 8:30 am to 10 am in Gilbert, AZ, and then from noon to about 1:35 pm at the state capitol mall. My purpose? Recruit these conservative, constitution-loving people in these “target-rich environments” into the Republican Party as precinct committeemen. I was able to speak for a minute at the tail end of the Gilbert Tea Party and then at length, at noon, at the Tea Party at the Arizona Capitol. I spoke about the need for people to DO SOMETHING REAL by becoming an active Republican Party precinct committeeman. Explaining that with 4,000 of the 6,000 precinct committemen slots in Marcopa County being vacant, and with a 50-50 split currently in the 2,000 slots that are filled, that a mere couple thousand conservatives filling half of those 4,000 available slots would have a HUGE impact on the Maricopa County GOP leadership and send a shock wave through the Republican Party and wake up call to John McCain and John Kyl.

I’d estimate the crowd at Gilbert at 1,500 and 250 at the capitol mall.

I and two other PCs handed out my flyer (a couple folks at each tea party volunteered to help us, too) to just about everyone at the Gilbert Party and everyone at the capitol mall Party. My daughter got to attend with me at the capitol mall and stood next to me while I spoke. A great civics lesson.

Here’s a link to a video someone pulled together of the Gilbert Tea Party – I briefly appear walking away from the camera with my PC recruitment sign at about 47 seconds into it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d4c7FBjZGs

I was not able to attend the Tea Party march and gathering in downtown Phoenix as my wife really wanted me to spend some time with the kids. And they didn’t really want to spend time out in the over 100 degrees heat. Two other PCs from my legislative district did attend, but I have not yet received a report from them. One person reported on the internet that about 300 people attended the downtown Tea Party.

I think we made an impact today at the other two events. Several people told me, and several told the other two PCs handing out flyers, that they DEFINITELY would become PCs. Also, several people told me they remembered me from the April 15 Tea Party and, since then, had submitted their paperwork to receive an appointment to become a PC on an interim basis.

Now we will try to figure out other methods for recruiting conservatives to become PCs.

The Arizona Tea Party network is thinking along the same lines as I am regarding putting public heat on our non-representative congresscritters – we now need to take our energies and direct them at picketing the congresscritters at their local offices. Go here to see that this is already in the works for July 17.

I have signed up to visit the office of my congress-critter, Harry Mitchell. He voted against Cap and Tax. Maybe we can convince him voting for Obamacare will not help him achieve reelection.

Thank you.

I am only one. But I am a conservative Republican Party precinct committeeman. And trying to recruit more any way my feeble mind can conceive.

American first, conservative second and Republican precinct committeeman by necessity.
