It is time for Sen. Rick Santorum to drop out

Sen. Rick Santorum has no viable path to victory and brings no new issues or ideas to the table.  He no longer serves a purpose, or has a justification to remain in the race.

Santorum has no viable claim that he is more conservative or more electable than Gingrich.  He has no viable claim that he will be better in raising money, in organization, or would do a better job as president.  There is simply no path for him.  Further — despite winning Iowa, Santorum lost badly in NH and SC, and has no means to complete in FL.  It is time for him to leave.

The Santorum campaign probably thought, prior to SC, that it had a chance to win values voters.  SC results show that those voters went to Gingrich over Santorum, despite an all-out values attack against Gingrich.  SC should have put an end to that thinking.  There simply is no path for Santorum.

It is time for him to drop out.  Hopefully to support Gingrich. It is best for Santorum to quit while he is in a respectable position.  Now is that time.

In match up vs Obama he does BETTER thank Newt.

First, please tell me what “idea” Newt has that he is actually advancing?

Santorum has a strong economic plan that plays well in the most important states. Does Newt even have a plan? I know his plan is to debate the media, but that only goes so far.

Secondly, Santorum has a great chance of winning — you just need to think past stage 1.

Newt will implode in the next week. His hubris and character failings will be on full display. He may go on a news program and kneecap a fellow Republican (think Paul Ryan) or capitalism in general. His ethics report from the mid-1990′s may be made public. More ex-wives may speak out.

He will implode. If Santorum is not around to pick up the pieces, we are stuck with Romney.

      Reagan said he would:

      1) Rebuild the Military (He even specifically proposed 500 ship navy)
      2) Cut Taxes (25% across the board)
      3) Reduce Gov’t Spending and Balance the Budget

He did all but balance the budget and reduce gov’t spending (although he slowed gov’t spending to slowest rate in modern history) Not bad considering he had a Democrat controlled house.

NEWT NEEDS a THREE POINT PLAN. (He is on his way)

      1) Optional Flat tax of 15%
      2) Optional Private Health Insurance for Medicare (including HSAs)
      3) Reduce Capital Gains, Corporate taxes, Regulations to Grow Jobs
      4) Congress reassert authority over constitution. Unelected courts and agencies are taking over our lives.

It needs more focus and a few specifics (like Reagan) but not bad.

      What about Santorum?

His tax plan is good (and nice specifics)
Encouraging HSAs is good.(but Santorum needs specifics here)

Gas Prices soaring, Obama’s rejection of XL Pipeline – he has to make the case that Obama cares more about his Green environmental buddies than the American people.

Who better than the author of Drill Here Drill Now Pay Less…

        Newt!!!!

I kinda like keeping the dems guessing and having to prepare for additional potential adversaries. At least until the primaries go winner takes all and somebody could get 20 delegates with a 37% to 35% “win”. Let’s hope they keep their eyes on the ball and remember who the real adversary is!

It would be fascinating if we could see big donations $2500 to Campaign and even more to Super PAC.

    - If they are coming from Romney supporters, this would be a clear sign to Santorum that he is seen as a splinter in the conservative movement and the funding is the evidence to support it.
