Glenn Beck to Chuck DeVore: “You intrigue me.”

Chuck DeVore appeared last night on FOXNews with Glenn Beck talking about the role of government and his race for the U.S. Senate. While reiterating his policy of not endorsing candidates, Beck declared: “You intrigue me.” Beck had Assemblyman DeVore on the program for two segments (they will play sequentially):

Early on the in the program Glenn listed the litany of liberal interest groups who have given Chuck DeVore a failing grade for his hundreds of votes in the California State Assembly. As he went down the list he handed Chuck his jar of jelly beans, a bottle of water, and even the infamous red phone. Chuck intoned: “I don’t want the red phone” to which Beck chuckled: “They never call…”

Beck seem unabashed sharing his affinity for the Assemblyman especially as Chuck related his feelings about the history of the progressive movement.

Bottom line: Chuck DeVore is indeed the tea party candidate and, as George Will declared on Sunday, will be the Republican nominee.

    NARAL – 0 ; Sierra Club – 0 ; Etc…..

    My hero. :)

Mr. Beck may have not verbally and specifically endorsed Mr. DeVore, but Glenn offered jelly beans.

For my money, that’s better than any actual endorsement. ;)

    Cheers !

Never know when it may ring…

Can’t wait to see the debates with Fiorina and Campbell.

At the very least it should Fiorina to get out. She’s foundering, especially after the infamous Demonsheep video, and this should be a two man race between Campbell and DeVore.

I’m not a Beck fan and I happen to think an endorsement from him would hurt even in the primaries in California and certainly in the general. But I do think DeVore acquitted himself well, though with the caveat that it was friendly territory, and he’s certainly the most conservative candidate.

Can he beat Boxer? I don’t know. But that’s up for the GOP primary voters to decide. He’s certainly better than Fiorina and he’s loads more conservative than Campbell. I’ll get behind whomever wins the primary because I want Boxer gone, but I hope DeVore catches fire and runs a Brown/McConnell-style campaign in the fall emphasizing winning fiscal and economic issues… which will almost certainly be prominent given the state’s horrible budget situation.

    “is the mission statement…”

    GO Chuck, GO!!

Campbell burned too many bridges. Carly is obviously not big league politically. Devore will need lots of money help in the general election.

    You are going to WIN!

But I see I can’t, so it must have gotten fronted.

and was impressed. Neil Stevens, an FP contributor/moderator here, has been a big supporter of you and has kept us informed. Listening to you yesterday shows me he has been steering us well.

Will continue to support you and hope that you and conservatism get a win.

the impact a takeover would have in the political landscape. It’s absolutely IMPERATIVE that the GOP establishment be given a smack across the head on this one, to wake them up before too much more time is wasted with Fiorina. Honestly, to me, if the GOP sticks behind her it will be the test of their adaptability and wisdom.

it was totally different when he had Carly out with him. You could tell he basically invited her as a formality.

  • Scope

I’ve heard much good about you, mainly from our own Neil Stevens, but, I had never seen you speak. I was very impressed, and, even though Beck doesn’t endorse, those of us that watch him regularly could tell he definitely was “intrigued” and, impressed.

More importantly, Senator DeMint was on Beck’s radio show this morning and he has given you his strongest endorsement. You can’t get better than a DeMint endorsement as a conservative of the first order. Even Beck prefaced his DeMint call with saying he was the only one in Washington he trusts.

You are well on your way Mr. DeVore, and, I will celebrate your election. Neil has not steered us wrong.
