Obama surrenders space to the Russians and Chinese

I would add the Europeans to the list, but it’s Europe.

When the White House releases his budget proposal Monday, there will be no money for the Constellation program that was supposed to return humans to the moon by 2020. The troubled and expensive Ares I rocket that was to replace the space shuttle to ferry humans to space will be gone, along with money for its bigger brother, the Ares V cargo rocket that was to launch the fuel and supplies needed to take humans back to the moon.

There will be no lunar landers, no moon bases, no Constellation program at all.

And what will they be doing in it’s place?

In the meantime, the White House will direct NASA to concentrate on Earth-science projects — principally, researching and monitoring climate change

And what does it mean for us? Well, for those of us dependent on the space industry, less jobs. For the rest of the country, remember that all those cool gadgets like GPS depend on satellites.  Also our military is heavily dependent on satellites. Ceding control of space by limiting the research and technology to get there doesn’t seem like a very good idea to me. Let’s hope our Democrat senator Bill Nelson can talks some sense into this administration.

A Snitch Website to Go Along With The Snitch Email

Introducing the white house Snitch Website (http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/), which they have hilariously named Reality Check.

They don’t think this is going to endear them to the American people do they?

Hello? Mr. President? Do you ever actually work?

There’s a bunch of people here in Central Florida who are waiting for a disaster declaration so they can get on with being ticked off with FEMA. They spent last week swimming in their living rooms and really, really could use some help. Even our news is reporting that the ball is in your court and the locals can’t do any more until you sign off on this. (Crist has $2 million in state funds released to start helping, but that isn’t even close to enough) We know that the help won’t be instantaneous, but if your teleprompter could at least tell you to mouth some nice words to let those people know that they aren’t forgotten, and give them a roundabout timeline as to when they can expect help.

While we’re at it, is anyone actually doing anything about North Korea? Or is everyone sticking with just words and no action?

N Korea Conducts Underground Nuclear Test

South Korea and Japan detected earthquakes where previous underground tests were done. North Korea claims that it has conducted a successful test. The state department says they have no confirmation.

So what will our president do about it besides mouth the pretty words that TOTUS gives him? Maybe he’ll throw money at them so they can put one on the end of a missile that can reach a populated area.

Is this the test Biden warned us about?

Update: NK has also tested a short range missile. Obama declares NK’s attempt to develop nuclear weapons are a threat to world peace. In the words of my nine year old twins, thank you Captain Obvious.

VP Mouth for Shoes has done it again

Would you believe he has revealed the location of the Super Secret VP Bunker? What idiot lets the world know where he’s hiding when there’s an emergency? Why not stick a neon sign above his house saying “Strike Here!”

30 Year Bonds Do Badly

Well, looky here! As many conservatives, and the ChiComs warned, no one is going to want to finance the out of control liberal spending spree. Reuters reports (last week, how did I miss it? oh none of the MSM really picked it up):

NEW YORK, May 7 (Reuters) – A U.S. government auction of 30-year bonds met a dismal reception on Thursday, driving down bond and stock prices and raising fears the United States may face difficulty financing spending to stimulate the economy.

It will be on to Plan B for those economically ignorant clowns in Washington. They’ll be warming up those printing presses to start printing up the New Worth Less Dollars. Stock up on food, potty paper and other necessities of life. By the time they do this, cap and trade and all the other economy killers they have planned, toilet paper is going to be worth more than dollars. Imagine that.

I bet CNN didn’t expect tea partiers to have their own video

Update: CNN had YouTube remove the video. Weenies. But, as TNJim says below, you can still see it here

After the obnoxious CNN coverage of the Chicago Tea Party, we have coverage from Founding Bloggers of one the protesters taking the obviously biased CNN reporter to task

Orlando Tax Day Tea Party

Once again, thousands turned out for the Orlando Tea Party. Unfortunately for me, I’ve been suffering from lower back pain for the last 3 days, so I couldn’t stay as long as I would have liked. There was no way, agonizing pain or not, that I was going to miss this. Being one of those people who absolutely hates to be late for anything, I arrived at 5:18, which was 42 minutes from the start of the event. There was already several hundred people there and another hundred or so arriving every time the walk light lit up.

We cheered every time a new crowd could cross the street to join us without tempting fatalities. It was, after all, rush hour. There were non-stop beeps of support from passing cars, which isn’t surprising since they were more than likely on their way home from work, and working people don’t want to be taxed to death. By six, we were pretty much elbow to elbow.

Every news truck was there, and I noticed that all the major news organizations were there.
We have our Channel 6 guy

And this guy, who used a lot of hairspray (yes, he’s primping)

Then he climbed on the roof of his van with his camera guy. I was envious. That would have been a great vantage point to take pictures from

There was plenty of wonderful signage. There were a few that I didn’t get. Here are a few of my favorite signs:

Is this a trick question?

And of course you can’t have a tea party without at least one Ron Paul supporter. This time we hit the jackpot. Two of them were running around pointing at the sky and rambling about the contrails and poison. It was breezy out, so I’m sure the tinfoil hats protecting them blew away.

On the way out, I took some final pictures of the wall of people with signs lining the road.

It was a joyous sight. Then my back told me to take my joyous butt back to the car before it quit.

More Orlando Tea Party 2 Pictures

I’m back and ready for the full story and pictures.

When we first arrived, most of the 4200 people that attended were already there. I had aimed to be there an hour earlier to stake out a closer spot, but noooo, my sister had to rattle around the house an extra 15 minutes. We didn’t have to park too far away, as most of the people were filling the garages and didn’t think of street parking a few blocks away. Unfortunately our late arrival meant that we were stuck with obstructed view and obstructed audio. Fortunately, my long arms let me take nice crowd pictures (See last post). You can see video of the event and an overall crowd picture at Channel 13, our local cable news network. The Orlando Sentinel also had an article, which disappeared off the front page by the time I got home at midnight last night. Update: it’s back on the front page of the website If you read the comments, the moonbats are foaming at the mouth trying to minimize it. Our local Fox news network also covered it.

I brought my twins, who were ready to protest, though they had no signs this time around.

The police, they were bored. The protest was completely peaceful and organized. It was a family event, with lots of strollers and dogs. No dirty smelly hippies. No women with armpit hamsters. No disorderliness anywhere.

Attention span has expired. Maybe it’s because they were in a sea of butts and couldn’t see anything.

Update: More Signage and News 13 is actually running the story over and over, complete with video, not a blip and it’s gone like the last one.

Wish I could have got to this one but I had the twinbots with me

Orlando Tea Party 2

Today we attended the Orlando Tea Party organized by Lisa Feroli and promoted by Bud Hedinger, our local conservative talking head. It is our second tea party here in Orlando and I believe that we have the Tax Day Tea Party to look forward to as well.

As we drove around for 20 minutes looking for parking, we saw that it was going to be big. Very big. For a not so big city, parking was a real pain in the butt.
First glimpse of the tea party

It was held at Lake Eola. It was a beautiful breezy day.
lake eola

There were thousands there. I kid you not. I had to walk around the lake to get as much of the crowd as I could in the pictures. This was a VERY good turnout.

I saw a couple of news trucks and reporters interviewing people. Since I have to go out right now, I will continue this later when I get back in.

Sorry Obama, but some Special Olympians bowl better

My son, who has cerebral palsy, walks and runs funny, and can bowl a 170. That beats the president who has obviously been bowling rather than working. Not that we really want him working, since he drives the economy deeper into the dirt every time he picks up a pen. Or opens his mouth.

And the world just LOVES US now!!

Oops. Maybe not. Looks like our president has annoyed our neighbor to the south.

Mexico to impose sanctions on US exports

Are they doing this on purpose or are they really that stupid?

Orlando Tea Party

The day before the First Orlando Tea Party, I learned of it’s impending occurrence from a young lady who worked for the Republican Party. So I said to my self, “Self, you must be there, even if it is only to add one more live body, since most people have to work.” Dead bodies tend to not attend conservative gatherings. The necro-American vote seems to be overwhelmingly Democrat. I’m not sure why death affects the way a person’s brain works… oh wait, the brain ceases to function. That does explain a lot.

I took the advice of my Self and drove my ever-so-gas-efficient American made Toyota to downtown Orlando to join the festivities. I was wondering how the turnout would be, considering that it was last minute, during a work day, and most people who would be protesting the abominable spending actually have jobs which would pay for it. I’m not really good at guesstimating attendance, but I believe there was at least 100 people there. But why guesstimate when you can just show pictures.

Orlando Tea Party

It started off with everyone waving signs at traffic going by. There was a lot of honking and waving from the passing cars.
