Conservative in the primary, Republican in the general.

Way back in 2008, before I got to RS, I was a Fred guy. When McLame ultimately got the nomination, I was "all in" for him.

In this cycle, my criteria was, "Who best can defeat the Marxis?." First Palin, then Cain, then Perry, then Gingrich, now Romney.

I hope that helps.

Thank you.

1) Form a ballot committee, preferably one "for the children". Call it, say, the "Citizens for Kids 2012".

2) Recruit an employee of the city, county, or school district with access to the voter rolls to join your committee. Invite them to come to your next meeting with the updated voter books.

3) Photocopy the voter books.

4) Phone-bank from the conference room of the local bank that underwrites the sale of most of the local revenue bonds, using the names of those found in the voter books.

5) The phone poll question you use in your polling can be "do you support the local millage increase election" when you call everyone who voted in the most recent election.

6) Put a "yea" or a "nay" by each voters name on your previously photo-copied lists.

7) On the day of the election to increase the school millage, only call back those voters that answered in the affirmative to increase the millage. Be very polite to them, reminding them to vote, and even offer to take them to the polls if they don't have a ride, or can't otherwise make it. DO NOT call back the folks who said they were against the millage.

8) Win the local millage increase election. And also, you now have a complete, updated list of folks that tend to vote Democrat, from which you can crib for the next election.

Here in Michigan, the MEA actually conducts courses on how to win local millage elections. This is one of their tactics. Notwithstanding that much of it is illegal (removing voter roll books from the clerks office, making photocopies of them, etc.), it DOES give a road-map on how to create your own, home-grown (and often completely updated) VoterVault-type Get Out The Vote data.

Some jurisdictions will provide copies of the voter rolls, for a fee. And, of course, you can do what I've done: Walk the neighborhoods. Nothing beats shoe-leather...

he should stand his ground and argue the point.

If there is no reason to apologize, then CW shouldn't apologize.

If the apology is sincere, then stop repeating.

Seems clear to me---and I am definitely a CW fan. I just find these periodic episodes to be counter productive for everyone.

and so have many acitivists.

We had issues with antics (that almost got physical) at elections for local republican clubs as the establishment is trying to keep what they consider the tin foil hats among us from getting elected positions--even in local republican clubs.

Many people that ran in the last county caucus aren't running again. They lost to people who have shown up for fewer county republican meetings than the activists they beat to get elected. It will be interesting to see what the county caucus is like, but I am pretty sure that the establishment will get all their buddies to come out to defeat any upstart candidate. They were caught off guard the last caucus, but we fully expect them to be loaded with voters for the status quo for the next caucus.

me, I have cut way back on my GOTV phone efforts, as I have been active in local efforts for my small suburban city and frankly on the road for work a lot. I keep getting invitations to support a popular republican and have yet to contirbute or help.

cold warrior is right, but enthusiasm needs to be renewed with something to keep going. For me, what I was doing in the R party just made me feel like a pawn.

Especially if you two know each other and he knows your efforts? (Great job Aaron, BTW)

I think its more a general calling to RS, (editors being a driving force of RS to set the agenda/direction) in pursuit of activities that give a large bang for the buck, as I think has been proven, no?

I don't get too ruffled on tone and semantics when looking at the big picture. I'm not largely involved yet either, but will get more involved in GOTV this fall.

I have seen a few posts by CW that have highlighted successes in a positive manner as well. They haven't all been teammate ribbing type posts.

While we bicker about petty things such as tone from a valuable teammate, the Paulites are making big inroads in the party, the RINOs don't listen to us and bend over in DC at every turn when spooked by the left, and the radical left gets more brazen, the media more propagandist, openly lying.

Time to circle the wagons folks and quit the circular firing squad.

I'm connecting with them to see how I can get Dad (who died 3 years ago) off of the voter rolls. Defendthevote.com, Truethevote.com, Project Verity...these are ways to get involved to fight voter fraud. If I can find a way to get my dad's name off the rolls, I'll pass on the information to everyone I know to get their own deceased loved ones off the rolls.

It is an uphill battle, CW, but many, many more who were formerly silent are paying attention and many more are doing something about it. I, too, feel despair with every trample to our Constitution. WE, all of us, can push our children to do something also. My stepson is now involved with the San Francisco Young Republicans and all of my kids voted R in 2010. And you (among others) have inspired me to be an election judge.

We all can swing in a circle with our arms and effect those closest to us pushing them to swing in a circle and on and on. Many of us will never give up. I will pass on your post to our PC. Thanks

Thanks
