On Wednesday, April 15, thousands of Americans from around the nation will gather to protest the dangerous direction our nation has recently taken regarding taxes and spending.
This grassroots effort is in the tradition of our original American Patriots, whose initial political goal was tax-based, and it is aptly and creatively named a “TEA Party,” because the word “TEA” is also an acronym for Taxed Enough Already.
While the passion and patriotism we will see expressed is reminiscent of American Patriots of old, it is also important that we employ modern technology to make it as effective as possible. Just as our Founding Fathers helped spread word through pamphlets, modern-day bloggers are helping spread the word about these protests.
It would be a tragically missed opportunity if thousands of never-before-active Americans attended a TEA Party, but were never contacted again and given an opportunity to become more involved in the political process.
To make sure this unfortunate event does not happen, Let Freedom Ring USA is organizing an effort to have local TEA Party leaders encourage the crowd to Text the word “TeaParty” to 74362 on their mobile phones.
This will ensure that local leaders, as well as the national leaders of the conservative movement (we are working with several conservative leaders on this project), will be able to activate and alert TEA Party attendees of future events.
Because these events are spontaneous grassroots events, this logistical effort is challenging. We are hopeful that word will also spread via this blog. Thank you for your help in that regard.

I can't wait until April 15th!
I also enjoy making crude sexual jokes. Monday, April 13th at 1:25PM EDT (link)We are really going to show Obama and the Loony Left what Tea Baggers we really are at the Tea Parties!
Tea Baggers against Taxes!
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt
bs Monday, April 13th at 2:49PM EDT (link)and assuming you don’t understand what “teabagging” means.
So, for your edification, please visit the Urban Dictionary for the definition of what a “tea bagger” is.
And I’d heed Moe’s advice from the other thread regarding the use of the term.
Decorum is fo’ suckas - unless it’s one of the good guys
Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter, Etc.
MelZ Monday, April 13th at 1:42PM EDT (link)I have been utilizing all of the above to invite as many people as possible to our local TEA party. And to just raise general awareness about it.
For young people this is a great opportunity to be involved with what will likely be a small piece of history. I have encouraged youth that this is not a partisan issue (although the loonies are making it out to be).
I am not in charge of our TEA party, but will certainly spread the word to text their attendance in. This is a great idea and I am glad to see some are thinking ahead….though I don’t know that I agree with any type of phrase with the root word being tea bag being used. It may end up not being to our advantage.

So is this why ACORN says they'll be "monitoring" cellphones?
farstar99 Monday, April 13th at 4:59PM EDT (link)Perhaps someone should tell them that monitoring cell phone frequencies is a felony in most states.
It is a violation of the Electronic Privacy Act, that's a federal rap
olsmithie Monday, April 13th at 5:52PM EDT (link)The people who overheard the Newt conversation violated the same law blatantly but didn’t even get a slap on the wrist for it. (See Electronic Privacy Act)
Modifying a scanner built since April 1991 is also a violation, although law enforcement and government agencies are exempted. They are required to have a warrant to monitor cellular phone frequencies. It is the same as an illegal wiretap, although it was really a marketing ploy by lobbiest to make the public think cell phones were more secure than they were. (Back in the analog days monitoring was technically no problem, theoretically speaking, of course.)

3 Things
I like to make crude sexual jokes. Monday, April 13th at 7:23PM EDT (link)1) Your taxes gone up?
2) Why were there no rally’s under Reagan? Even if … and of course they will … the top rates are allowed to sunset, they only be back to where they were under Clinton, and lower than were they were for a good part of Reagan’s Prez.
3) Teabagging is gross. I am sure Larry Craig and Mark Foley will be there though.
Continue the Movement
fstrat76 Monday, April 13th at 10:32PM EDT (link)The movement needs to continue after April 15.
Check out http://teapartyrevolution.com .
I believe they are supporting a continuing grass-roots movement and list tea parties coming up beyond April 15. They have a forum and playform and are looking for strong organizers, volunteers and members also. They are supposedly not tied to any organization or sponsors.
In any case, keep it going folks!
edit....

Will be attending in Delaware. nt

The Spirt of '73
reaganiterepublicanresistance Wednesday, April 15th at 9:09AM EDT (link)It’s not out-of-the-question that the 2009 Tea Party participants could someday be regarded by history as patriots who made a difference- same as 1773. This sort of public outrage might be just what’s needed to break through the media’s manufactured reality.
And you can believe that Obama and the left are plenty scared of the TEA party movement- how else to explain the dubious timing of his “everything is under control” speech on the economy, and (on the same day before the protests) the DHS report warning of “right-wing” radicals and their propensity to violence?
Barack Obama is rapidly liquidating everything that made this country great… and needs to be put back-on-his-heels with a major embarrassment that puts an end to the myth that everybody just loves Barack and his wacked-out agenda… because millions of us DON’T.
