According to Gateway Pundit the lefty blog "AmericaBlog" is on the verge of a real pantytwister:
It's time to replace some conservative Democrats in Washington, DC. I just heard from an impeccable source that there is serious concern on the Hill that conservative Democrats in the House will vote with the Republicans to strip any and all restrictions from the Iraq supplemental tomorrow, effectively giving Bush all the money he wants with no restrictions and no effort to hold either him or the Iraq government accountable for anything. I.e., they will vote to continue this war along the same disastrous course because they're too afraid to challenge George Bush and his failed leadership.
Let me reiterate: This isn't some idle rumor. The concerns are coming from Hill sources themselves.
I don't know if this is true, don't much even care if it is. The fact that the pro-al-Qaeda left is beginning to look askance at its "allies" in its struggle to deliver 25 million humans into a pre-medieval dystopia is encouraging.

So does most of the eating press we call the MSM in this country. Lazy, arrogant and the only thrill they seem to have is using their power to cause the country harm.

Assuming that the weak-kneed Republicans who visited the WH yesterday can be counted on (for now) to hold firm, then I just don't see a whole lot of available options for the Democrats.
Bush has said he'd veto a short-funding bill and anything with a timetable. He's said that he will compromise on establishing a set of benchmarks -- which is something I've been touting for a long time.
I think the Iraqi government has to know precisely what's expected of it. But I think it's a mistake to say "Do this, or we're gone." For one thing, it's no secret that the benchmarks set by the Democrats were unachievable -- by design.
Obviously, the left is going to be apoplectic. But I don't see any way to get the votes necessary in both houses and the president's signature without something along these lines.
And that probably means that the final bill will be voted on unanimously by Republicans (except, of course, for the Ron Paul types) and will have the support of at least the Blue Dog Democrats, if not a significant portion of the Democratic leadership.
Even if the Democrat leaders don't outwardly support the bill, I think they'll give the green light to the Blue Dogs to do so.
It's high time the leftys propose primary challenges to unseat the moderate to conservative Democrats they elected to win a majority with six months ago! You know, take their country back from the people they just hand-picked.

are not and never have been friends or allies of the far left blogs. Just look at Joe Lieberman if you don't believe me. The far left, drunk on power, and with never ending resources from George Soros is ready and willing to go with scorched earth politics and burn anyone and everyone that gets in there way, including non compliant members of their own party. The rest of America must wake up because they are downright dangerous.
