We Do!

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.

BTW, Steve Gutenberg is now on Dancing with the Stars.

I assume the Stonecutters are behind this.

Need reading advice by Elizabeth

A question for some of you better read folks out there -- can you recommend some books, essays, speeches or other sources from some notable classical liberal thinkers / philosophers / writers? I'd like to do some reading to get a better handle on what is meant by a classical liberal as opposed to today's liberal (= leftist). Are there some liberals in the traditional sense writing today that might now be classified as conservative, but who espouse the values that would traditionally have been considered liberal?

Run some searches for things written by (maybe about) Speaker Tip O'Neal (all politics is local, i.e. a federalist arguement), Sen. Patrick Moynihan (welfare state/state's duties), President John F. Kennedy (tax cutter) and Truman (yes I said A-bomb Japan!).

First day of Spring and I sit here on my front porch (yes America, they still exist), off the 2nd shift, sifting through blogs and enjoying some of the season's finest grape-age.
