If McCain vs. Obama, 28% of Clinton Backers Go for McCain

This new Gallup poll is just fantastic. Hilary's coming win in PA will make this fight even more bitter and distasteful, I for one can't wait.

PRINCETON, NJ -- A sizable proportion of Democrats would vote for John McCain next November if he is matched against the candidate they do not support for the Democratic nomination. This is particularly true for Hillary Clinton supporters, more than a quarter of whom currently say they would vote for McCain if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee.

Give now to the John McCain Campaign to help him capitalize on the Democrats infighting!

I doubt that'll stick, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get, say, 10% of Hillary supporters. Let's assume that D's are half the country. Then lets say half the D's are Hillary supporters. That leaves you with 10% of 1/4th of the electorate. 2.5% - Obama + McCain sounds pretty good to me.

maybe not by Pentagon16

It might not be 28% of dems, but we don't need that many. We probably only need 10% to win. And if we are smart we should be able to pull 60% of the Jewish vote when going against Obama and his disgraceful "advisors and mentors"

Obama is Jimmy Carter- only without the sweater.

I mean this as no disrespect to you, Brandozilla. You're hardly the only one exhibiting giddyness over the Democrast' foibles. And I'm not saying that a conservative ought not take some pleasure from troubles on the other side.

But, it's a rather pathetic reflection on the state of our movement, isn't it? That the best we can seem to do is laugh while our political and ideological opponents tear into each other?

There's a reason they're fighting so hard for that nomination -- it's probably a better nomination to have this year than the one John McCain will be getting. I guess there's something to be said for misery loving company.

But I just wish that we'd do a better job discussing why we are where we are and what we need to do get back to winning elections on the foundation of good ideas.

But when the Democratic Party goes to the trouble of creating a grand edifice designed to amusingly rip itself into shreds, then turns it on right in front of me - with musical accompaniment, no less! - and it proceeds to so rip itself, in a truly epic and awe-inspiring manner... well, what am I supposed to do? Golf clap?

The Fuzzy Puppy of the VRWC. I've been usurped!

Politics is like economics. It goes in cycles. It's a bad year for us.

And if they keep this up, the nomination won't be nearly as worth having.

or more. Operation chaos is working. Round two, should be to support Ralph Nader. Go to Votenader.org and do what you can.

Donate $$$ VoteNader.org. But I do agree McCain will get around 10%.
