So, Al, do you want to be Senator?

This is a serious question. Do you want to be Senator?

You're not having any second thoughts about this? It's not suddenly looking like a lot more time and effort than you thought at first? This wasn't some sort of joke that you never thought would get this far?

Are you sure?

Franken's corporation didn't file tax returns in Calif.

ST. PAUL (AP) Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken's personal corporation didn't file corporate income tax returns in California from 2003 to 2007.

A spokesman for the California Franchise Tax Board says the corporation, Alan Franken Inc., owes a minimum of 800 dollars per year as well as penalties and interests to the state of California.

Read on.

Look, I thought that you were funny on Saturday Night Live. Really. The bit with the satellite dish on your head... classic stuff. But this is, like, grown-up stuff that you're doing now. Really grown-up stuff, now. If elected, you'd be one of the top five thousand or so most important people in the world. Maybe the top thousand. That's important. So, just in case no one's told you: you can't say stuff like this...

(Via MDE)

...and then go around and not follow corporate procedures. Yes, we expect you to do a better job. Grown-up stuff, remember? And this isn't the first time, is it? That failure to pay worker's comp: Al, you're a Democrat. You have absolutely no excuse to forget to acquire workers' comp insurance.

Now, I'm not going to tell you that you can't run for Senator. You're old enough to do so. I am going to tell you that you need to start acting old enough. And I don't care what your people are telling you; you need to do a lot of boring things that aren't immediately obvious in their relevance if you want to get this job. If it doesn't seem fair, well, nobody said that life was fair.

So shape up, already.

I posted a question some time ago here at Redstate and do not believe anyone posted a reply. Is this not the same Al Franken who was caught being less than honest about the NY Boys and Girls club scandal?

yes, same guy. by BrianH

Typical dishonest hypocritical Democrat politician. Also author of "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them.". Seems he's following his book's advise....

Socialism doesn't work. It looks nice on paper, but it's been tried and it's failed miserably every time (usually accompanied by widespread death and suffering).
Proud member of the V.R.W.C.

I always wondered why they gave him airtime. The whole Al Franken decade was just annoying.

Of course if you can claim fair use. One of those Me Al Franken sketches would be insanely funny as a campaign commercial.

I always thought it was just me not getting the jokes, turns out he just wasn't funny.

of the "Do as I say, not as I do" liberal. Like Obama, he cries for change, change, change! What they don't tell you, is that they want everyone else to change but they think their views and actions are just fine thank you.

He and Garrison Keillor have only been funny to people who laugh at "thank goodness I'm not as dumb as the people in that story" humor.

Give me a break.... by GordonTaylor

Sen. Al Franken...when pigs fly...

It always kind of amused me that Franken was running for Senate. Half-assumed he would win, too--just because of MN history and all. He has successfully bludgeoned the amusement out of it, though. Now it's just dangerous.
