A glimpse into the future of ObamaScare

N.Y. Health Care Workers Revolt Over H1N1 Vaccine

Saying They Should Be Given A Choice, Employees Rally In Albany, Around State, Chant "No Forced Shots!"

Protesters Hold Signs That Read: "The State Doesn’t Own My Body’"

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (CBS) ?

They’re upset over an ultimatum from the health department.

Workers are being told to either get the swine flu vaccine or lose their jobs.

New York is the first state in the country to mandate flu vaccinations for its health care workers. The first doses of swine flu vaccine will be available beginning next week. Much of it is reserved for state health care workers, but there is growing opposition to required innoculations.

Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed "No forced shots!" as they rallied Tuesday against the state regulation requiring them to roll up their sleeves.

"The state doesn’t own my body"    Oh yes they do, or will, when you are on the government plan.  It’s ironic how that argument is used for abortion supporters but is A-ok among many of the same brain aborted radicals that will be mandating health care to the rest of us people that aren’t smart enough or privileged enough to be able to read proposed health care bills.

I’d like “Dumber Than Sarah Palin” for $500, Alex.

Dumber than Sarah Palin for $500, Alex.  Wolf Blitzer came out of his Situation Room bunker and showed up on Jeopardy.

Wolf Blitzer needs to get out of the situation room and read some books. When he looks out of his mansion I wonder if he sees a LIBRARY? I wonder how many stories Wolf did on how dumb Sarah Palin is? Forget the Bush Doctrine, how about WTF is fettucine?

Wolf got off to a blazing start and did score most of his positive points on hard hitting cutting edge categories like food and celebrities, ahh, The Most Trusted Name in News. (in my best James Earl Jones impression)

Wolf ended up with a NEGATIVE $4600. MINUS $4600. -$4600. Does that mean his charity has to WRITE A CHECK to Jeopardy? How fitting from a hack news organization and indicative of the administration for which he shills. That big bucket of water weighing you down Wolf?

Hey, you can’t ride Wolf too hard because he had some real tough competition. Wolf’s tough educated opponents included Dana Delaney, an actress best known for her inspiring role on Magnum P.I. and also Andy Richter, a comic sidekick to that cerebral informational show Conan O’Brien.

More good news for Wolf, in the land of TV make believe where real private biz advertisers pay actual money, his charity doesn’t have to write a check to Jeopardy, unlike all of us are going to have to write bigger and bigger checks to the US Treasury for Obama’s screwups putting all Americans in financial JEOPARDY. I hope double jeopardy applies to Americans so we don’t get screwed over TWICE.

Warning: This video may be harmful to the eyes of liberals.

IBD survey of 1,376 Physicians, plus Baucus bombshell

Will America ever get the real facts?

How representative is the AMA of physicians as a whole? IBD article reported that AMA only represents 18% of physicians. A shockingly low number if you ask me.

IBD did a recent survey and the revelations are quite shocking:

IBD Poll

Two-thirds, or 65%, of doctors say they oppose the proposed government expansion plan. This contradicts the administration’s claims that doctors are part of an “unprecedented coalition” supporting a medical overhaul.

wow, just wow.

The AMA, in fact, represents approximately 18% of physicians and has been hit with a number of defections by members opposed to the AMA’s support of Democrats’ proposed health care overhaul.

Shocking! That seems very very low from what is being represented in the Lame Stream Media. LSM.

Four of nine doctors, or 45%, said they “would consider leaving their practice or taking an early retirement” if Congress passes the plan the Democratic majority and White House have in mind.

Even if a tiny tiny fraction make good on their consideration, we’d be in huge trouble. Data shows we are already behind in the number of physicians coming online for the growth of health care, not to mention the free for all “all you can eat” buffet of health care demand if there is socialized medicine. I for one, if forced to participate will try to get my money’s worth by going to the doc for everything and anything.

More than seven in 10 doctors, or 71% — the most lopsided response in the poll — answered “no” when asked if they believed “the government can cover 47 million more people and that it will cost less money and the quality of care will be better.”

From 2003 to 2006, the number of active physicians in the U.S. grew by just 0.8% a year, adding a total of 25,700 doctors. Recent population growth has been 1% a year. Patients, in short, are already being added faster than physicians, creating a medical bottleneck.

The study found that, just with current patient demand, the U.S. will have 159,000 fewer doctors than it needs by 2025. Unless corrected, that would make some sort of medical rationing or long waiting lists almost mandatory.

Without a huge demand surge we are looking at a large shortage.

In 2006, Massachusetts passed its medical overhaul — minus a public option — similar to what’s being proposed on a national scale now. It hasn’t worked as expected. Costs are higher, with insurance premiums rising 22% faster than in the U.S. as a whole.

“Health spending in Massachusetts is higher than the United States on average and is growing at a faster rate,” according to a recent report from the Urban Institute.

Other states with government-run or mandated health insurance systems, including Maine, Tennessee and Hawaii, have been forced to cut back services and coverage.

This is why I advocate decentralizing our huge federal government and restoring power and budgets to the state and local level where they can be more responsive, and be held accountable much easier. 50 experiments in innovation, seeing what works, and what doesn’t.

The huge federal government taking over 1/6th of our economy is too huge of a gamble for a few propeller heads to mismanage.

Baucus Proposal

The Baucus proposal would impose, starting in 2013, a 35 percent excise tax on insurance companies for “high-cost plans” — defined as those above $8,000 for individuals and $21,000 for family plans.

Health economists believe a tax on high-priced benefits could help slow the growth of health costs by making consumers more sensitive to prices.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2009/09/dem-senator-warns-of-big-big-tax-on-middle-class-in-baucus-bill.html

So our all knowing government elites will tax us 35% for our own good to keep health care costs DOWN? Is it April fools day? Apparently it is quite often in the ivory towers of our ElectedElite in DC.

The Dems will be crying like schoolyard whining babies, “Well we tried to play nice(meaning REPS would have to agree with nearly everything) but since they don’t want to, its their fault I’m gonna throw a tantrum and screw up everything.”

Maybe we need this outrageous thing passed so we have a 50 million man march on DC to throw the bums out of office. What a disaster. I hope the silent majority continues to wake up and in time to save this country. For the first time in my life, age 42, I am truly worried about this country and my own government. It is shocking.

Conservative Talk Radio List

I thought it would be good to start a talk radio list. I’m sure people have some local gems that would be worthy of sharing.

My local guy in MN is Jason Lewis. 100.3 ktlk. He has filled in for Rush several times and is building a national syndication. Conservative/libertarian. He comes on at 5-8pm Central. Has appeared on CNBC Power Lunch several times as well.

Another drug deal gone bad in DC

or not?

The lone cowboy negotiator in chief, seems to have been outgunned.

Obama strikes a deal with big pharma for $80 billion protection money plus big pharma is kicking in a $150-$200 million pro-Obama HealthScare campaign to educate deceive American’s into thinking this is a great deal. Obama going it alone for all the glory, then gets heat from his side that he sold out too light. Here Obama thought he’d be the hero but wound up being the Zero. I’m sure this is a huge source of stress amongst the Dem Elite.

It’s odd you aren’t hearing more about this. I think this is a big big deal behind the scenes. You know, politicians learn a lot of sleight of hand from magicians, so you must pay attention to what they don’t want you to pay attention to. Hey, look over here!

“In terms of savings for you as a Medicare recipient,” President Obama told a town hall attendee yesterday, “the biggest (change) is on prescription drugs, because the prescription drug companies have already said that they would be willing to put up $80 billion in rebates for prescription drugs as part of a health care reform package.”

Then the president said, “Now, we may be able to get even more than that.”

In true Obama fashion, his words have VERY SHORT expiration dates attached to them. Huh more than that? What about our deal….?

Pelosi chimes in:

“We know we can squeeze more from the system,” Pelosi told the New York Times. “The minute the drug companies settled for $80 billion, we knew it was $160 billion.” Then, in classic doublespeak, she added, “The president made the agreements he made. And maybe we’ll be limited by them. But maybe not!”

So Waxman and clan are pissed they were left out and says it has nothing to do with their agendas. Waxman wants his bite of the apple.

Mr Tauzin also said that he had been assured by the White House that any attempts to introduce not only government drug price negotiating powers for the Medicare programme but also allowing consumers to re-import US-approved prescription drugs from Canada and elsewhere would be blocked, and that the agreement had been “blessed” by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina and Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform.

Congressional Democrats who are working on legislation to increase drug cost savings with just such initiatives responded with fury to the reports of such a deal, saying that it would make their position “untenable.” Long-time industry critic Representative Henry Waxman, who chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has already pointed out that the deal struck between the industry and the Senate Committee has nothing to do with the House.

The row comes ahead of meetings this week in which PhRMA is due to finalise its plans to support the health reform programme with television advertisements costing around $150 million – an Associated Press report has suggested that the figure could be as much as $200 million – amounts which have astounded observers.

What’s the negotiator in chief do now? Besides go back on his word? Umm, probably go back on his word. Is there anyone left that will want to deal with this reckless shifty administration in good faith?

When all else fails, whip out the victim card, with DHS help.

You know when the left wing talking points start whipping out the Obama is a victim of personal attacks and pulling the race card, they are getting desperate. You know Obama isn’t afraid to use them as evidenced in Gates Gate.

Boxer sounded the battle cry, “Leave Britney Barack alone!”

ABC news headline, “Fear for Obama’s Safety Grows as Hate Groups Thrive on Racial Backlash

Los Angeles police officers apprehended a man Thursday after a standoff with him inside a red Volkswagen Bug car in Westwood, CA – the latest disturbing case even though officials said the man had mental problems.

I seem to recall many Presidents have been targeted by mental nutjobs. Gotta love the “even though he was mental” dig.

“I don’t think these are simply people who are mentally ill or off their rocker,” Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, told ABC News of those behind the threats. “In a very real sense they represent a genuine reaction, a genuine backlash against Obama.”

Brilliant analysis by Potok, so we was an anti health care nut job? or just a card carrying conservative nut job? Watch out Mr Potok, the VRWC zombies have finally awoken after decades of sinister brain washing! We come to take you away, ah ha!

Experts who track hate groups across the U.S. are growing increasingly concerned over violent rhetoric targeted at President Obama, especially as the debate over health care intensifies and a pattern of threats emerges.

Experts? what experts? The ones like Napolitano that decided to publish the study that exhaustively scoured the globe, umm well ok world wide web internets, to clip and paste a few articles for their comprehensive research on right wing groups?

Here’s what American’s for Limited Government found about the information and sources used when inquiring about the DHS report on right wing extremism:

As it turns out, Janet Napolitano’s DHS did not conduct even the most rudimentary research or investigation. It did no statistical analysis. It did not even bother to interview those it accused and allow them the opportunity to defend themselves.

Instead, in what should send shockwaves throughout the nation, DHS functionaries simply cruised the Internet (in tin-foil hats, no doubt) and relied entirely upon some of the most disreputable sites on the web to stage its attack upon its “rightwing” targets.

Foremost upon the websites DHS relied upon to launch its ruthless, reckless assault was a site called whatdoesitmean.com. In its response to the ALG FOIA request, DHS reported utilizing the site no less than eleven times – far more than any other site – to substantiate its accusations against veterans and other “rightwing extremists.”

And what is the thrust of whatdoesitmean.com – this site the Obama Administration considers a reliable source for intelligence gathering against the American people?

Whatdoesitmean.com contends that the government of the United States has been in direct contact with extra-terrestrial aliens through sophisticated radio waves. Its masthead contains unicorns, Tarot cards, secret numbers, and hieroglyphics. And it warns against a “manmade swine flu” and “fast-approaching global famine.”

Here is the link for the FOIA response with the list of sources.

http://www.getliberty.org/files/09-502%20Interim%20Response%201.pdf

I predict that these type accusations and inferences of racial and violent backlash will increase and continue to be attempted to be linked to perfectly civil legitimate political opposition. The left will whine over the victimization of the POTUS.

An old tired lefty meme continues, when they run out of any shred of common sense, facts, and reasoning (not really sure they demonstrated any to begin with) to defend policy proposals they resort back to calling names and crying wolf.

A new epidemic infects Sheila Jackson-Lee, CDC not concerned.

There is a new epidemic rapidly sweeping through our Elected Elite faster than Porkulus Flu. It only seems to infect those on the left.

It’s been identified as (OTDAS) Obama’s Trickle Down Arrogance Syndrome or Trickle Down Arrogance.

For all the phrase coinage in politics I’ll throw this one out as a new one. Trickle Down Arrogance. You’ll notice that leaders of organizations (yes, community organizers too) tend to set the tone, attitude, and culture of the organization. The new attitude spreads quickly throughout.

We have witnessed numerous examples of Obama’s arrogance, “I won” mentality so I don’t really need to list them here in this diary.

I have noticed especially in the recent HealthScare town hall meetings that more and more of our elected elite are being infected. From Dingell saying congress won’t/can’t handle tort reform, to Specter saying he isn’t required to visit with his constituents, to Pelosi and Hoyer saying anti socialist medicine folks are un-American, to elected elite requiring ID’s for town halls but not supporting ID in order to vote, to others wussing out and having screened phone in meetings.

The debilitating effects from (OTDAS) Obama’s Trickle Down Arrogance Syndrome are fierce. It makes one defy all reason, common sense, logic, and human decency in order to hold oneself above consequence.

Diagnosis is pretty obvious to the casual observer (no health panel needed here). You’ve probably already seen the citizen video clip of Sheila Jackson Lee’s rude behavior at her town hall ignoring a person asking a question while being on the phone.

Further evidence today from Jackson Lee confirms the OTDAS diagnosis on CNN with the normally sensationalist shill of Rick Sanchez. Sanchez in the pre-interview teases (I was stuck watching CNN it at the gym!) did everything they could to assure the viewers that there was a perfect explanation behind Jackson Lee’s rude call in the middle of her town hall. He led you to believe it would be sorted out in due time with her appearance and explanation and everything would be fine.

But, due to OTDAS, Jackson-Lee couldn’t muster up anything besides a few rambling talking points. Even Sanchez, a most willing accomplice, couldn’t even do anything with it. He was shocked that Jackson Lee didn’t recognize the ‘ol razzle dazzle play call (Ok, I’ll have you on my show and you give the people a half baked answer and you are good to go). Even Sanchez had nowhere to go on this one, all because of Jackson Lee’s OTDAS.

CDC is reporting there is nothing they can do for OTDAS but added there are cures available to the public in very few windows of opportunity, each several hours in length, occurring every 2, 4, or 6 years.

Dingell-berry left out tort reform “Only so much congress can do”

Another feather in the cap for citizen journalism.

I have written a couple diaries on citizen journalism and the most important liberation left in the world is liberating the American people from the biased media. We think we have been so free when we actually haven’t. Our biased media has caused tremendous damage here and around the globe. If Obama was smart he’d ban all cell phones(that have video cameras) as well as video cameras in some sort of “security” measure.

Technology is finally reaching the masses and will continue to erode the biased regurgitated spin of the media. People are waking up to the hopey changey Obama hangover and reality is setting in. It’s that drunk hopey changey college kid wondering how he (thought) he went to bed w/ a hot slim cheerleader but somehow woke up with a coyote ugly “big beautiful woman” .

Dingell-berry’s town hall shows that hopey changey, no-details vague crap is starting to wake up the silent majority.

No wonder the mob is getting peeved.

Only so much congress can do? Like thousands of unread pages of disaster? To be fair to Dingell he probably has a point. How much more damage can Obama thugs and his congressional useful idiots expect to really do in one bill? It’s gotta be some record.

Al Franken, 60th vote and useful idiot.

First of all, I am from Minnesota and apologize for the MN idiots who elected Al Franken. I don’t know what is in the water here, but I’m drinkin bottled water from now on.

Franken feuds with T. Boone Pickens
By: Eamon Javers
July 31, 2009 02:40 PM EST

Five years after he put his money behind the Swift Boat ads that helped tank John Kerry’s presidential campaign, Senate Democrats gave T. Boone Pickens a warm welcome at their weekly policy lunch Thursday.

Or at least most of them did.

Kerry skipped the regularly scheduled lunch; his staff said the Massachusetts Democrat “was unable to attend because he had a long scheduled lunch with his interns and pages.”

Sen. Al Franken managed to make time for the lunch – but then let Pickens have it afterward.

According to a source, the wealthy oil and gas magnate and author of “The First Billion is the Hardest” stepped up to introduce himself to Franken in a room just off the Senate Floor after the lunch ended
Franken, who was seated talking to someone else, did not stand when Pickens said hello. Instead, Franken began to berate him about the billionaire’s financing of the Swift Boat ads in 2004.
According to a source, the confrontation grew heated.

Gee, the first words out of Franken’s mouth upon being recognized as Senator was, “I am not the 60th vote but merely one of two Senate votes for the state of MN.”

Can you say “projection”? I knew you could. Right out of Obama’s playbook. Whatever he says he is “NOT” part of, that is what he is really doing. “I do not want to run banks, insurance, auto companies…”

Likewise Franken, “I will not be the village idiot attack dog…”

Franken will take his marching orders from the Dem Elected Elite and be an attack dog(swiftboat??, are you kidding me?). If he goes out of bounds too many times he will be an expendable patsy. Actually, consistent with Dem tactics, Franken will probably be closer to nearly untouchable. Why? He is already known to be a whackjob so nothing will really stick to him, other than idiocy. You know, the “hypocrisy” thing. Hypocrisy is the game du jour in Washington. You can come in a complete idiot and accomplish nothing, but if you already have a track record of nothing you cannot be hypocritical and free of judgement. Something along the lines of affirmative action meets the peter principle.

I think it is high time for an end to idiocy affirmative action, don’t we have plenty in Washington?

Organized Crime on the Upswing in the U.S.

There are reports of a large and growing upswing of organized crime going on in the US. More and more industries are being invaded by crime bosses of the highest order, free choice shut down, and pay protection implemented.

Some excerpts from Wikipedia (good enough for our purposes here).

Organized crime or criminal organizations can be defined as a transnational grouping of highly centralized enterprises run by criminals for the purpose of engaging in illegal activity, most commonly for the purpose of generating a monetary profit. The Organized Crime Control Act (U.S., 1970) defines organized crime as “The unlawful activities of [...] a highly organized, disciplined association [...]“.[1]

Organized crime dynamics

In order for a criminal organization to prosper, some degree of support is required from the society in which it lives. Thus, it is often necessary to corrupt some of its respected members, most commonly achieved through bribery, blackmail, and the establishment of symbiotic relationships with legitimate businesses. Judicial and police officers and legislators are especially targeted for control by organized crime via bribes.

Organized crime most typically flourishes when a central government and civil society is disorganized, weak, absent or untrusted. This may occur in a society facing periods of political, economic or social turmoil or transition, such as a change of government or a period of rapid economic development, particularly if the society lacks strong and established institutions and the rule of law. ..

Under these circumstances, criminal organizations can operate with less fear of interference from law enforcement and may serve to provide their “customers” with a semblance of order and predictability that would otherwise be unavailable. For similar reasons, organized crime also often takes root in many countries among ethnic minority communities or other socially marginalized groups whose members may not trust local governments or their agents. This lack of trust serves both to insulate the criminal organization from the risk that law enforcement will find cooperative witnesses, as well as to encourage community members to trust the criminal organizations rather than the police to handle disputes and protect the community.

Racket (crime)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

A racket is an illegal business, usually run as part of organized crime. Engaging in a racket is called racketeering.

Several forms of racket exist. The best-known is the protection racket, in which criminals demand money from businesses in exchange for the service of “protection” against crimes that the racketeers themselves instigate if unpaid (see extortion).

Traditionally, the word racket to describe a business is based on the example of the “protection racket” and indicates that the speaker believes that the business is making money by selling a solution to a problem that it created (or that it intentionally allows to continue to exist), specifically so that continuous purchases of the solution are always needed. Example: in a protection racket, a representative from the racket informs a storeowner that a fee of X dollars will be required every month for protection money, though the “protection” that is provided comes in the form of the racket itself not causing damage to the store or its employees.

Ok, enough about the government and its grand plans to extort more tax money out of us for worthless rackets.

Wow, Please re-read the above excerpts with the context of the Obama Admin.

-substitute un-constitutional for criminal
-substitute taxes/fines for payoffs
-Scouring every industry in which to impose regulation and taxation (cap/trade, healthcare)
-reducing free market choice (health care, Employee no choice act)
-centralizing power (Obama czars overlapping congress, Fed Govt treading on states)
-making society weaker and taking advantage (never let a crisis go to waste)
-”organized crime dynamics section” is eerily similar to what we have going on now
-rackets describe cap and trade, global warming
-highly organized (ACORN etc..)

Obama takin notes in 04

I know, I know, if you can stand listening to Randi Rhodes(i prefer nails on a chalkboard), Obama is talking about that dastardly BUSH RUSHING the Patriot Act through congress after 911! Like national security is just some unnecessary luxury. The Patriot Act was a foot tall! and weighed 14 pounds! How eeeevil. How dare we rush anything, especially national security.

So Obama comes in with “change” and a new era of transparency!??

Rushing the stimulus.
Rushing cap/trade.
Rushing socialized health care.

Stars are aligned? hopefully The Prez will need a new Astrology Czar. Or maybe his Astrology Czar is right on that Obama’s time is running out.

Venezuela newspapers need…..Paper

Geez, that’s one clever way of controlling the media. Ration paper.

I guess things are working out well for Chavez.

Just a perusal of headlines about Venezuela these days:

GM de Venezuela said it owed suppliers some $1.2 billion and that upwards of 80% of the total debt is more than 290 days overdue, and Cadivi wasn’t delivering the dollars. “Due to these delays, suppliers have suspended provision of production materials since four months ago,” the company said in a statement. This had forced the two plants to shut down.

The company employed about 4,000 people at the two Valencia plants, and is estimated to account for another 74,000 jobs at supplier companies and dealers. Until the closure, GM de Venezuela had been the automotive sales leader in the country for 29 years.

Chavez is imposing much tighter currency controls as Venezuela’s exports fall. Venezuelan companies have a hard time securing $USD to import raw materials and parts. Individuals have a very tough time getting $USD as well. Providing for a nice black market for $USD at nearly triple the official government exchange rate. Gee, wonder if Chavez and his cronies are skimming this gap off for themselves in overseas bank accounts on all the oil sales?

I bet Obama is jealous of the ambition all Chavez has accomplished in a short period of time.

Citizen Journalism vs. Media bias-can technology help turn the tide?

Conservatives spend much time here and elsewhere one-upping each other on media bias stories. We gotta keep doing it but at some point, we have to get more strategic. We cannot just let the media bias be the elephant in the room and start out every race dragging an anchor, or playing ball with 8 men on the field.

Technology is a great thing and can be a game changer allowing leveling of the playing field. Twitter has made a nice impact on getting the word out as we have seen. There is new technology just blossoming that will be a real help to conservatives if we embrace it quickly.

It’s live mobile video streaming and automatic capture online.

Many smart phones these days now have the capability to shoot decent video and companies have applications where you can actually stream your mobile video “live” to a site, watch it live or later, and even twitter video feeds where mobile users can watch it as well. Think of all the roving reporters putting pressure on our Elected Elite. Capturing their ‘off the cuff’ statements where you really get to see the real person instead of scripted infomercials, oops press conferences.

Yeah, many phones have had video recording capability already but now with applications from qik, ustream, livecast (a simple search will reveal many more rolling out) it makes it real easy to broadcast live and automatically record your broadcast online. No more capture video, wait until you get home, upload to your pc, and then upload somewhere online.

There are twitter extensions (twitvid and I’m sure many more soon) out that twitter your mobile video. What a great way to get a breaking story out tremendously fast. I am reminded of the video of the thugs with weapons intimidating voters outside a precinct. That would have spread even faster than it did with live mobile streaming and fast dissemination.

We can continue to point out the bias(which we should) and deal with biased stories after the fact(like treating symptoms) but now we can really do something to attack the problem at its source (a cure). An ounce of prevention….. Seeing citizen reports side by side w/ media reports will provide a direct refutation (is that even a word?) to canned media bias and will enlighten many to the stealth brainwashing millions receive daily over the airwaves.

I’d would’ve loved to have a citizen capture the video of the GatesGate to see how his story stacked up with the officer’s story. We need some real transparency and sunshine in this country!

It’s all about the money.

In every presidential race since 1908, in which consistent, real (inflation-adjusted) annual disposable income growth was above 3.3%, the incumbent party holding the White House won every time. When income growth was below 3.3%, the incumbent party lost every time. Again, with redefinitions to the national income accounts in the last two decades, a consistent measure of disposable income as reported by the government has disappeared. Yet, even with official reporting, the current annual growth in real disposable income is at 2.2%, well below the traditional 3.3% limit.

Accordingly, odds are quite high that the numbers for 2008 will favor an incumbent party loss, i.e. a victory for the Democrats. Where I always endeavor to keep my political persuasions separate from my analyses, for purposes of full disclosure, my background is as a conservative Republican with a libertarian bent.

What follows or coincides politically with a hyperinflationary depression offers a wide variety of possibilities, but the political status quo likely would not continue. Times would be financially painful enough to encourage the development of a third party that could move the Republicans or Democrats to third-party status in the 2010 mid-term or 2012 presidential elections.

http://www.shadowstats.com/article/hyperinflation

Interesting fact that is reported here as a consistent factor in every election. It tells me people can be seduced by sweet whispers in campaigns but wake up to the hangover of reality a few years later to realize things aren’t going so well.

I am reminded how Perot got 19% of the vote with some simple common sense charts. If Reps don’t get their act together and hang this disaster around the head of Obama and the entire left, there is risk/opportunity (depending how you look at it) of a third party in the next few years. It can happen as fast as a pointer stick, a few charts, and a little TV time.

“Billy Mays here for the new political party, OxyClean! Guaranteed to clean up government or your money back!”

New Meaning of Taxation without Representation

The new meaning of Taxation without Representation may allow the IRS to tax you if YOU don’t represent that you don’t owe the taxes!

Congress passed a law requiring the value of employer-issued cellphones to be included in workers’ gross income, unless an employee kept detailed records showing the phone was used only for work.

But now that so many workers tote BlackBerrys and other cellphones issued by their employer, and so many companies don’t enforce the tedious record-keeping rule, the Internal Revenue Service is weighing whether a portion of a work-related cellphone bill should be taxed as income.

This week the IRS put forward several proposals intended to simplify the law. There have also been efforts to repeal the law altogether.

Since it is so difficult for the IRS to enforce their law(gee shouldn’t that tell you something?) they are going to make it “simple” for us ;) and entertain the idea of automatically assuming that 25% of your work cell phone usage is personal and taxable unless you provide details to the contrary. That is signaling a departure from the burden being placed on government to justify their existence and privilege to collect and spend our money.

Under a second option, employees would provide proof that they have a personal cellphone to use during work hours. A third would let employers use a statistical sampling to determine the average workers’ use of the cellphones for personal calls.

The IRS is seeking comment on the proposals until Sept. 4.

Are you kidding me? I owe taxes until I prove I don’t owe taxes? Hello? anyone home?

Statistical sampling? Are you really freakin kidding me? Isn’t the tax code already several thousand pages? Everyone needs a CPA or two these days or should have one if they don’t, but now you need a stats geek to crunch numbers to determine some average? Who the heck is going to do that? How in the world would the IRS even want to enforce it?

With all of today’s nifty technology the work world and personal world has melded a significant amount. Many people are on duty 24/7 as long as they are tethered to their VM and email. What’s next? An official government taxation gps chip for us all to “simplify” things for us? (oops shouldn’t give them any ideas.)

BREAKING: Shooting at DC Holocaust Museum

[UPDATE]: The shooter is apparently James W Von Brunn (safe link), and if you Google his name, use the caches; he’s a seriously twisted white supremacist who hates everybody sane, or even mildly mad.  Give you an idea: he thinks that the Holocaust was faked - but shouldn’t have been.

I recommend prayers and good wishes for the security guard that was shot, and his family.- Moe Lane

Lockdown. 2 or 3 people reported to be shot.

The Five Most Dangerous Words in the English Language

To update Reagan’s Nine Most Dangerous Words, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

I have been noticing these 5 most dangerous words spread like wildfire DEM talking points throughout the left wing in peddling their latest programs to bankrupt us and spread the taxpayer wealth to their major campaign contributors.

These words aren’t even exclusive to the left, as some Republicans have used them as well.

The five most dangerous words these days:

“IF WE DON’T DO ANYTHING…..”

Fear mongering at its finest, is now a standard arrow in an ElectedElite’s quiver in fleecing the taxpayer.

bank bailouts
auto bailouts
bank takeovers
TARP
TALF
BARF
government auto takeovers
I’ve probably left out a few more.

and now health care.

A trillion dollar plus health care program is now being peddled to us as a money saver. “If we don’t do anything…..” health care will skyrocket. I’d call a trillion or trillion and a half government health care program “skyrocketing”.

Will anyone look around and have a Dr. Phil moment, “How’s that workin for ya?” For all the damage that is being done to this country by reacting in fear to “If we don’t do anything…” maybe it’s time to try the alternative of having the federal government do little or nothing.

I’m tired, desensitized, and no longer afraid of the “Do Nothing” boogeyman.

Obama chooses Sonia Sotomayor for Supreme Court

Just announced, Obama chooses Sonia Sotomayor for Supreme Court Nominee.

Does anyone know who Norma McCorvey is? I didn’t.

Norma McCorvey was arrested while protesting President Zero at Notre Dame. It was little mentioned in the media and if so, buried in an article. Why it isn’t headline news is beyond me, well not really, since much of the MSM are openly disciples of The One. So what, just another citizen arrested while exercising her right to free speech over abortion.

I did not know that Norma McCorvey is the “Jane Roe” of the landmark Roe v. Wade abortion case.

Quick summary from wikipedia:

Background

The Roe v. Wade case took three years of trials to reach the United States Supreme Court. In the meantime, McCorvey had not aborted, but had given birth to the baby in question. In the case, she claimed that her pregnancy was the result of rape. She now claims that to have been untrue.[2]

In the 1980s, McCorvey revealed herself to be the “Jane Roe” of the famous case, and that she had been the “pawn” of two young and ambitious lawyers (Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee) who were looking for a plaintiff with whom they could challenge the Texas state law prohibiting abortion.[3] In her 1994 autobiography, I Am Roe (her first book), she wrote of her sexuality. For many years she had lived quietly in Dallas, Texas with her long-time partner, Connie Gonzales. “We’re not like other lesbians, going to bars,” she said in a New York Times interview. “We’re lesbians by ourselves. We’re homers.”

Wow, I never knew. Roe was a lesbian. Roe claimed she was raped, later claiming that was not true. She even gave birth to the baby!(and gave it up for adoption). She claims to have been a pawn to ambitious lawyers. (Probably the type John Edwards patterned his career after.)

Those were the circumstances of such a huge case as Roe v. Wade? Wow, that has surely cheapened the merit of the landmark case for me. Sounds like flimsy cheap left wing circumstances, detached from reality. Nothing new here. Here I thought it was a hard fought case with some sort of solid claims. What was I thinking?

More importantly, Roe(McCorvey) at some point realized how precious life is and has become a pro life advocate(isn’t it silly we even have to point out someone who may prefer life?).

Even more shocking(but then again it isn’t) is that this isn’t all over the news. If it were reverse, where some “conservative” in a landmark case “saw the light” and switched to a left wing view, they’d be plastered all over the news. (Kinda like Ronald Reagan Jr used and abused ooster boy for a time by the left as the “gotcha” to Reagan Sr and conservatism, but shame on them, Jr was probably never even close to being a conservative in the first place).

She wrote in her book, Won by Love,

“I was sitting in O.R.’s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. ‘Norma,’ I said to myself, ‘They’re right.’ I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that’s a baby! It’s as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth–that’s a baby!
“I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality. Abortion wasn’t about ‘products of conception.’ It wasn’t about ‘missed periods.’ It was about children being killed in their mother’s wombs. All those years I was wrong. Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion–at any point–was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear.”[4]

This reminded me of something. Did anyone go to the “Bodyworlds” exhibition? Where the human anatomy was preserved and displayed in great detail. Well, they had a human development display with fetuses in jars in chronological order of development. I was amazed at how early on in the process an infant looks and functions as a little human. I then thought, wow!, every woman’s choice abortionist or anyone contemplating abortion should have to step up to a long line of these jars and point to the one where they believe life begins and deserves the same opportunity of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that we all enjoy. Since we should all err on the side of life, every abortionist should have to at least make a case that the fetus isn’t human at whatever point in development they believe in abortion, instead of claiming some fuzzy woman’s choice propaganda.

They stole the power from pro life people and transformed the argument into a woman’s right to choose without having to be accountable and answer the hard question of when life actually begins! I have been in discussions with abortionists and when I ask them to point to a jar and tell me when life begins they say that does not matter! It’s comical but very sad. They usually spout off the brainwashed talking points like, well you never have to know how a woman’s health may be in danger or rape or blah blah. Yes, real life sucks sometimes but those EXCEPTIONS(did you notice liberals best arguments are always exceptions to the “rule”?) are nothing but RATIONALIZATIONS for the taking of life, not a valid argument of whether it is life or not. When I point that out, it’s silence and then “Well Bush…..!”

This is amazing and a WTF! Duh! moment all at the same time. This confirms my belief that many peoples politics are separate from their real life. The left spouts off these talking points like good conformists. Ironic that they think they are such individualists. (I laughed at a cartoon where liberals are bragging how different and unique they are, just like everyone else.)

When confronted with real choices and real facts such as a poster, many people would make different decisions if they attempted to comtemplate the reality of their political beliefs.

It tells me that liberalism is pretty much a result of brain washing cult. Brainwashed people automatically reciting the repeated talking points without even thinking, manchurian like. No real life, factual basis, just repeating what has been drummed into their heads.

It’s a good lesson for a 42yr old like me, to do some research for the information I never get from the MSM and it’s most important to focus on the things they and our liberal left elected elite DON’T talk aobut, rather than the smokescreen propaganda they DO talk about.

How the heck did killing unborn humans be allowed to morph into a euphemistic argument over a woman’s right to choose anyway?

Next time you get some brainwashed ‘right to choose’ robot, make them point to a jar and tell you why.

Anti-tax? That’s like being for change. Change what?

We need some new PR and marketing people in the Republican and conservative organizations. We are framing things incorrectly. Anti-tax? It pigeon holes us saying no taxes are good and everyone is to fend for themselves. You’ve just alienated about half of the voters.

Taxes are good.

Before you ban me as a troll we need to frame our conservative positions correctly. The LEVEL of taxes is bad for the government product/service we get.

Taxes can do good. When appropriately levied and applied to deserving expenditures.

Taxes are neutral, just like change. What kind of idiot runs on change? It could be good change or change for the worse. For me, I kinda like positive change. Same with taxes. Taxes at an appropriate level are good, over taxation is bad.

Our message should focus on smarter, leaner, more efficient and productive government that delivers great results at a good price. Being anti taxes is a pretty lame message. We have tons of waste and all our taxes could be much lower but we have to clean up and reduce government.

I am tired of conservatives being marketed as “It tastes bad, but is good for you.” It is the furthest thing from the truth. We all know true conservatism delivers much better results for everyone. We need to get out and sell the benefits of conservatism, not beat people up for not doing the hard work cuz its good for ‘em.
