Ernst Vom Raft, a German diplomat in pre-war Paris was allegedly assassinated by  Herschel Grynzpan in the late afternoon hours of November 9, 1938. When word reached Adolf Hilter, who was carousing with his filthy thugs celebrating the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, he suspended his anniversary remarks, and urged Germany to exact revenge on the Jewry of greater Germany. The ensuing horrific, nauseating, horrendous violence against one of the oldest, most refined, most educated class of people in Europe became known as "Kristallnacht", or "Night of the Broken Glass". It was thus named for all of the thousands and thousands of broken windows and destroyed assets in Jewish-owned shops, synagogues, schools and even cemeteries.

In many ways, this was the night that ignited the systematic genocide against  European Jewry, and later led to the extermination of some 6,000,000 innocent, loving, human beings.

On May 2nd, 2011, Barack Obama ordered the assassination of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. In his obsequiousness to appear prostrate before his Muslim and Palestinian supporters here and abroad, Barack Obama today ordered the nation of Israel to retreat to their 1967 borders. Notwithstanding for the moment that Israel only exists today as a direct response to the horrors of Kristallnacht (where many of the violent Nazi thugs were shouting "Jews Back to Palestine!"), and ignoring all the other relevant historical narrative, Barack Obama has set the stage for the destruction of Israel.

Unless we elect a new President, and reverse this course, I don’t believe this is arguable.

Few people would have thought in 1938, by late 1945, the entire world would be shocked at the breadth and scope of the state-run German genocide against European Jewry. Harry Truman himself was physically sickened, by what he saw and learned, and insisted on commencing the Nuremberg Trials to officially read into the record the films and tapes and documents of the Holocaust so the world "would never, ever forget".

The world HAS forgotten. And, after his deplorable, nauseating speech at the State Department today, President Obama clearly has some of the worst amnesia.

Let us hope that May 19th, 2011 doesn’t become known as Kristalltag.

    Israel and the Jews have not forgotten. They took care of the problem in the early 70′s, and their neighbors know it. Sadam Hussein knew it. that is why he didn’t put chem warheads on scuds he was sending to Tel Aviv in the first Gulf War.

    As Rush says, “Don’t doubt me on this.” In 1981, after taking out Iraq’s reactor, the then prime minister, Menachem Begin said, ‘There will be no more Holocosts.”

      He needed the whole war-weary Western world to fawn and bow prostrate before that happened. And don’t forget, Hitler’s state-run genocide machine didn’t happen in a vacuum. All of Europe was rife with anti-Jewish hatred (especially post Dreyfus France). And Germany was seen as the shining pinnacle of modern living in 1938.

      Is Barack Obama Hitler? No, and I didn’t say he was. The milieu is completely different. BUT, if America abandons Israel, or makes outrageous demands of her, the only end is horrible bloodshed in the Middle East, and death and destruction to hundreds of thousands of Jew, without regard to her defensive capabilities. Give Iran another year, give the death cultists in Jordan, Syria, Egypt and so on enough backhanded US support, and all bets are off. Just like November 9th, 1938.

    Nothing that Barack Obama has said about his policy on Israel can compare to what Adolf Hitler initiated on Kristallnacht. Throwing our most important mideast ally under the bus? Absolutely! Guaranteeing the destruction of Israel? Even if that were Obama’s intention (which it isn’t), Israel has a defense capable of overcoming any American intransigence. It is extremely regrettable that we may be forcing Israel to rely solely on herself. That is what he may have set the stage for, not her complete destruction.

    Now if you want to make a diary entry discussing how Obama’s executive orders and czar appointments and health care plan have advanced the murder of unborn children, which has been going on at a scope even larger than the Holocaust since 1973, I’d be very open to reading and recommending it.

      And history shows that everything has consequences.

      With the blood of over 50 million innocents on our heads, I’m eminded of the words of Thomas Jefferson:

      “I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just.”

      It is the most endurable. It ebbs and flows, it takes on new coloration for ensuing generations. It molds to the times, takes on certain patinas of acceptance. First the, Jews are hated for having their own land. Then they are hated for being driven out into the greater world into the diaspora. They were then hated for building wealth in foreign cultures where the natives couldn’t, or wouldn’t, do the same. Then they were hated for NOT having their own land. Now they are hated FOR having their own land. Anti-Semitism

      Barack Obama clearly has a thinly disguised, and clearly generally accepted antipathy towards Jews in general (palling around with Jeremiah Wright and Jesse Jackson’s Chicago crowd almost demands it) and Israel in particular. This isn’t deniable.

      And, in a nod toward Burke, all it takes is for evil to flourish is for (powerful) “friends” to do nothing when these friends are threatened.. with death.

      Yes, abortion is the reason that, in Mother Teresa’s observation, the United States is under judgement. This too, is unquestionable. It is our national horrific shame. But, this is separate and apart from our President clear, unambiguous antipathy towards Jews, and how this will very likely culminate in events that he neither forsees, nor particularly cares about. And the blood will be on his hands.
