Why I Follow Freedom, Why I Follow Governor Perry.

COMMENTS

There is a lot at stake for our country if we don’t get this election right. Perry is a true fiscal and social conservative who LOVES this country. You can feel his love of this country when he speaks. He has got my vote. I hope many IA caucus goers take the time to listen to him b/c if they do they will feel the same way I do. Perry the right one in 2012!

He was attacked by the Republican establishment for being a kook. Reagan would talk about the Trilateral Commission, and come off as a Bircher. People accused him of being a racist, and pandering to Southern whites.

It was only after he accepted Bush Sr, as his running mate that the establishment got off his back.

I think people tend to look at Reagan the candidate through the lens of Reagan the President. Before Reagan was President, he was a very radical candidate, with a very quick wit, and an incredible knowledge of philosophy.

He also had an enormous grassroots campaign behind him, a leftover from the Goldwater days.

Tomorrow night we find out if Perry’s ground game is good enough to compete.

Btw, Reagan changed a lot after being shot. The man most people remember as President was a shadow of who he was as a candidate.

I’ve often said that that is indeed true, but I quite frankly think he was a real conservative candidate and a real conservative before that. Perhaps that’s to be debate, but nonetheless.

that you’re only seventeen. That excites me! You and I are part of a new generation of Americans ready to carry on our country’s legacy.

*GASP* I must be mortally ill, considering how deeply afflicted I am with that delightfully delicious disease. I got the biggest kick out of that phrase. Thanks for the following clarification, too–pitch perfect and precisely what we female fans have been thinking all along!

Great diary and keep up the good work!

probably not 17, but has lived in America for 17 years. But I could be wrong on that. Either way it goes, this diary is absolutely beautiful and dead on right!

I had kinda gotten the impression that he/she was that young from his/her previous diary, “Cancer and Rick Perry.” Anyway, whatever it is, constitutional, it’s a great diary!

one of a kind amongst millions! You are amazingly articulate for such a young age. Bravo to you – and my apologies to la’patriette – guess this old gal can’t read after all. ;-)
