Obama’s Plan to Punish Success and Penalize Capital

Soaking it to the rich may be a way to win votes, but how will it affect the economy?

Underlying the soaring rhetoric of Hopey Ochangester, is a profoundly pessimistic view that America’s only “hope” is for a government-driven economy where opportunity is regulated and growth is stagnated.

Despite Barack Obama’s claims that he’s merely returning tax rates to their Clinton era levels, his plan to penalize capital and punish success goes far deeper than anything President Clinton ever imagined.

According to Stephen Moore at The Wall Street Journal, Obama’s tax plan will add up to a 39.6% personal income tax (increased from 35%), a 52.2% combined income and payroll tax (increased from 37.4%), a 28% capital-gains tax (increased from 15%), a 39.6% dividends tax (increased from 15%) and a 55% estate tax (increased from 0%).

Back in February 2008, Larry Kudlow saw the same dangers that only began to resonate with Obama’s unscripted and fleeting moment of honesty with Joe the Plumber:

Take from the rich and give to the non-rich. Redistribute income and wealth. It’s an age-old recipe for economic disaster. It completely ignores incentives for entrepreneurs, small family-owned businesses and investors.

Like most liberal thinking, good intentions based on what emotionally “feels good” inevitably results in bad public policy with far-reaching destructive implications - not just for the “rich”, but for anyone who dreams of being rewarded for putting their sweat equity to work, taking risks, daring to innovate, and climbing the ladder of success.

Barack Obama promises to drive a stake through the heart of incentive and build a new America based on cynical, hopeless dependence.

“Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine”

If the LA Times is concealing anything this devastating, Barry better hope they don't change their minds.

Doug Ross @ Journal claims that some juicy quotes from the Khalidi tape are leaking out:

Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can’t release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying “Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine” plus there’s been “genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis.”

I realize that using Barry’s own words against him has been deemed racist and negative, but it would be tough for Hopey Ochange to eat those words and recycle them as presidential. Especially since Khalidi apparently has ties to a couple of Barry’s other “guys from the neighborhood” – William Ayers and Tony Rezko.

The latest email circulating re: Obama’s “superior” qualifications…

Barry can type! And he has college degrees!

After Team Obama mused that Barry’s superior typing and emailing skills make him more qualified to be POTUS than John McCain, it seems that lefty email trolls are now hoping that college degrees might bolster Barry’s paper thin resume. Here’s an email message with the subject line of “VOTE!!!” that I recently received from several colleagues:

Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with specialization international relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Biden:
University of Delaware - B.A. in history and B.A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J.D.)

vs.

McCain:United States Naval Academy - ranked 894 out of 899 (like George Bush, McCain was at the bottom of his class)

Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general study
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Barry feeds at the trough of Fannie and Freddie…then blames Johnny.

Now *that* is putting lipstick on a pig.

In 2003, the Bush administration recommended the creation of a new agency within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Representative Barney Frank, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, replied “These two entities – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis.”

In 2006, Senator John McCain cosponsored the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, which would have created an independent agency with oversight authority over Fannie and Freddie. At that time, McCain said, “If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.” This bill never made it out of the Banking Committee. Democrat Senator Chris Dodd, then the ranking member of the Banking Committee and now its chair, has received the most political payola from lobbyists who were paid to keep regulators off the backs of Fannie and Freddie. Barack Obama has received the second most $$$ from these same lobbyists.

Barack Obama has repeatedly fed at the trough of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lobbyists who had a vested interest in aggressively resisting oversight. Now he thinks he can blame John McCain for the resulting crisis. What was Obama saying about putting lipstick on a pig?

You Sweeties look like pigs and smell like fish. Vote for me!

Barack Obama tries out his new appeal to female voters.

Poor Barry just can’t let go of his inner misogynist:

“You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said as the crowd cheered. “It’s still a pig.”

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

For the first time in his political life, Barack Obama is facing adversity. His campaign is floundering, the polls have demoted him from messiah to a lesser god, and McCain/Palin have taken away his shiny new hopeychange by pointing out that Obama has never stood up to his own party or taken a personal political risk to actually effect change and reform.

What does Barack Obama do in the face of adversity? He throws daily temper tantrums - once again proving that Barry lacks the right temperament to be POTUS.

A Tale of Two Conventions: The Coronation Versus the Celebration

Or, "How the Moose Punk'd the Messiah"

The DNC offered bitterness and anger. The RNC offered humor and hope.

The DNC offered a solemn vision of hopeless Americans whose only salvation is more government. The RNC offered faith in citizens to make better decisions than bureaucrats.

The DNC offered class warfare. The RNC offered upward mobility.

The DNC offered a tax code based on “fairness”. The RNC offered a tax code based on growth and investment.

The DNC offered change from George W. Bush (who isn’t running in ‘08). The RNC offered change from the past 20 years of the Washington establishment’s embedded special interests.

The DNC offered wind. The RNC offered energy.

The DNC offered the coronation of a messiah with positions. The RNC introduced an authentic candidate with principles.
