The Real Dirt on Barack Obama

It's All There If You Want To See It

A man with Barack Obama’s record has no business being President of the United States. Can Obama be trusted to administer the vast (and, in recent weeks, rapidly expanding) federal power to distribute jobs, favors and resources with restraint and honesty and respect for the taxpayer? Or will he deliver money, jobs and power into the hands of left-wing radicals, panhandling “community organizers” and sleazy machine politicians? If you want the answer to that question, look at his record. Indeed, if I was advising John McCain about tonight’s debate, my single-minded mantra would be to focus on Obama’s record. And follow the money.

I don’t generally write posts here just to promote posts I have written before, but as you gear up for tonight’s debate, and you consider what America really needs to know about Barack Obama, I’d refer you one more time to my posts yesterday covering the waterfront of Obama’s shady associations and the favors he’s traded with them over the years. Here is the bottom line conclusion:

Nearly all of Obama’s appeal requires his supporters to take on faith that he will do things he has never done. But on the question of whether Obama will ever take a meaningful stand against corruption or waste in his own party or stand up to vested interests and ideological extremists on his own side, we already know the answer: Obama is so thoroughly marinated in extremism and corruption that it would be nearly impossibe to extricate himself and still have a meaningful identity left.

You will often hear Obama’s defenders argue that his ties to this or that extremist or corrupt figure is an isolated aberration, an example of “guilt by association”; that the various favors he dispensed with public money and private charitable foundation funds are nothing unusual in politics. But when you look at Obama’s record and biography taken together, what you see is that the favors, the extremists and the machine ties are all inextricably intertwined, and that far from being isolated incidents, Obama’s modus operandi of mutual back-scratching with radicals and crooks extends to nearly every aspect of his life and career – his family, his faith, his home, his jobs and education, his significant election victories and legislative “accomplishments,” his closest advisors and most important mentors, the money and organization that made up his campaigns.

So to catch yourself up on the real dirt that makes up nearly all of Obama’s record, take a walk with me through the following installments:

Obama’s Rootless Ambition looks at the influences that shaped Obama before he ran for office.

Obama and the Extremists looks at his relationships with left-wing radicals and how they were an integral part of his rise in politics.

Obama and ACORN looks at his intimate relationship with a network of community organizers with a pervasive record of voter fraud and deep involvement in the subprime housing crisis.

Obama and the Machine looks at Obama’s long, deep and multifacted partnership with machine politicians in Chicago and Springfield. (Obama’s thrall to the Chicago machine is the single most scandalously under-reported story of this election…really none of this stuff is significantly disputed or hard to discover if you follow the Chicago papers.)

Obama and the Favor Factory looks at Obama’s routine practice of trading favors with his political benefactors.

Obama, “New Politics” and Principles looks at the illusory nature of Obama’s “new politics,” his absence of a record of fighting tough battles on principle, and wraps up and concludes the series.

Since that’s all he was convicted of doing, isn’t it reasonable to assume that Capone had nothing to do with all the murders, money laundering, bootlegging, bribery, and other illegal activity that his friends and acquaintances carried out? I mean, Capone was a good-hearted man with the right intention and would have done the right thing, if only the feds hadn’t come down on him for evading taxes — peccadillo that it is. If only his friends hadn’t been such bad people to make the G-men think poor little Al was himself a bad man, which he clearly wasn’t…

    • Crowe

Darn those corrupt Chicagoans: they ruined poor, innocent Capone and now they’ve made Obama look like a corrupt Marxist radical.

Thanks for putting this all together, and more importantly, for documenting it copiously. If anything, this election has shown me the importance of going back to primary sources whenever possible.

in my opinion, to ask Barack Obama is not what he saw in Bill Ayers, it is what did Bill Ayers see in you, to select you to run the CAC, kick-start your career in his living room, and serve on other boards and the like?

Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times wrote:

“Obama’s formal kick-off to announce his run for state senate was at the Hyde Park Ramada Inn on Sept. 19, 1995. Obama was introduced by Palmer in a room filled with supporters at the Ramada, fronting Lake Michigan on South Lake Shore Drive, a stroll from the Museum of Science and Industry.”

      More:

“Obama’s campaign really was launched when he got the backing of then state Sen. Alice Palmer (D-Chicago), who wanted him to replace her as she was planning a run for Congress. Palmer’s backing gave him entr?e into local influential political circles.”

      Sweet’s blog:

If our candidate can’t make that case effectively, what are we supposed to do?

    • Dan_McLaughlin

You might consider reading the part where I discuss the event at Ayers’ house…and also who Alice Palmer is. Hint: also not somebody you want to associate with.

Sweet’s account doesn’t gibe with Palmer’s recollection, but it doesn’t significantly conflict with the overall account of the Ayers event.

but try posting this where it would do the most good. we all agree

She introduced BHO as her heir apparent when she tried to win the Congressional seat vacated by Mel Reynolds (another fine chicago dem). Seems ol’ Mel liked underage girls. So off he went to prison and Palmer tried to win his vacated congressional seat. She lost. She then decided she was going to run for another term as an Illinois state senator. She asked BHO to please wait for the next opportunity to run for office. Well BHO decided the hell with that and told her he was running and that’s too bad for her (nice friend!) Well she decided she was going to run and managed to get enough signatures to get on the ballot. Well Obama being the snaky lawyer he is, challenged her signatures and got her booted off the ballot. That worked so well that he decided to challenge the other candidate’s signature as well. And what do you know! He got him booted off the ballot too. Guess who won running unopposed? That is typical Democratic politics in Illinois. That is the character of Barack Obama (Or lack thereof).

people or places this stuff should be aired at, go ahead and forward or link. We’re all in this.

…is the common thread that should be the all-consuming message for these last three weeks.

“You’ll hear a lot of talk and a lot of promises from Senator Obama. He says he’s going to stand-up to special interests – but he never stood up to William Ayers, let alone his own party. He says he warned about the subprime crisis – but he wrote a letter rather than initiating or backing meaningful legislation. He says he’ll cut taxes for 95% of Americans – but he has never voted to cut anyone’s taxes. He says he’d increase forces in Afghanistan – but he opposed the same strategy in Iraq.”

  • joe6pack

good point, I’ll do my best but I dont know about you. but trying to post on some of those lib sites is almost impossible. they got it locked up so just the loyal few can post anything, I was hope-n you would have better luck:)

  • zsmvf6

I think that the Obama fest in general is slightly exaggerated. Videos like these give me hope that Americans are not brainwashed sheep and will see through this pretender’s facade.

  • TxCon

to see through this facade. Is “white guilt” so deep that people will elect a socialist to be President?

    • sbartow

much oblige. I would have liked to seen sources other than this own site outed but you guys make great points about rep heresy and contradictons
