You Want A Reason To Vote McCain/Palin? How About The New York Yankees?

Having A Little Fun Here

The Hated Yankees haven’t won a World Series with a Republican in the White House since 1958. Counting since 1921 (their first pennant), the Yankees are 19-3 in the World Series (with just three playoff losses) in 40 years of Democratic Administrations, but just 7-10 in the World Series (with five playoff losses) in 48 years of Republican Administrations. They’ve gone 0 for the last five GOP Administrations while failing to bring home a championship on the watch of only one Democratic president in that period, Lyndon Johnson.

The breakout, by World Series W/L/No Pennant:

Harding/Collidge/Hoover (R): 4-3-5

FDR/Truman (D): 11-1-8

Eisenhower (R): 3-3-2

JFK/LBJ (D): 2-2-4

Nixon/Ford (R): 0-1-7

Carter (D): 2-0-2 (one loss in playoffs)

Reagan/Bush (R): 0-1-11

Clinton (D): 4-0-4 (two losses in playoffs, one strike)

Bush (R): 0-2-6 (five losses in playoffs)

So, you know, if you’re not a Yankees fan…

I would not care if the Yankees ever won the World Series ever again if it means we have a Republican President in return.

Also, that reminds me, I hope we’re all Redskins fans tonight.

The last 16 of 17 times the Redskins have won before an election, the incumbent party has won the election.

My second favorite team is whoever is playing the Redskins. I am also so huge into Western Civilization, I would be stoned in Berkely or Manhattan.

The Redskins Rule says that if the Redskins win their last home game prior to a presidential election, the incumbent party will remain in power. So, with the fate of Western Civilization, and our Grand Experiment on the line, well, I still will be rooting against the Redskins :)

If that is what it takes to keep the Yankees out of the World Series, i hope we have Republicans for the rest of my life

      This means fisticuffs, sir! ;)

Do not make me break out into the Redskins cheer song!

      I’m a terrible singer.

And now we know the REAL reason why the State of New York consistently goes blue every presidential election.

nothing but a guaranteed wild-card birth could allow me to root for the Redskins. As far as my health goes, I’m in my prime.

Tomorrow the Redskins Rule will be buried in Boot Hill. McCain will win and Dan Snyder will breathe a sigh of relief on the 15th of April.

    so I won’t.

Since this game was setup as an analogy/metaphor of the Election…. let me continue that line of thought….

Referees = ACORN. Likewise the Steelers needed help (bad calls in 2nd and 3rd Qtrs) in stealing the Game.
WARNING: SARCASM/SATIRE (I thought the Ref’s did a PERFECT job, unlike ACORN)

likewise… Since Redskins were representing a potential Republican win, the Steelers were the Democrats. Notice how the Primary Quarters went?!?! The leading Party/Team member White was replaced before more than halfway through the game with a Black, which ultimately then went on to win. (Play on the Pitt. Quarterback situation) Silly, yes, but yet still a weird/strange coincidence. (Roethlisberger = Hillary, Leftwich = Barack, analogy falls apart here with Campbell having played all the parts of the 8 Republican Primary players – lol) BTW, it was the Detroit Lion jinx that ultimately doomed the ‘skins, Zorn called Offense for Lions 1 game ;->
Relax, Lib’s, relax, relax…. it was just bad non-PC joke/humor

Remember, for every Rule there is an exception – this is that time!
