CBO: New House Health Bill Spending Estimate, $3 Trillion over 10 Years

The totals below, I am told by the Heritage Foundation, do NOT include the $250 billion extra spending on Medicare to buy off the American Medical Association for their support of the U.S. House bill.

The Democratic House Leadership has completely lost touch with fiscal reality.

The following is a cut and paste of a media statement by the ranking Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, Senator Gregg (R-NH):

Senator Gregg: Updated CBO Estimate of House Bill Pulls Back the Curtain on Majority’s Intent to Grow Government by $3 Trillion

Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH), ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee today commented on the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) more detailed cost estimate of the manager’s amendment to the House health reform bill.

Senator Gregg stated, “The CBO estimate released last night finally sheds light on the smoke and mirrors game the majority has been playing with the cost of their health care reform proposal. Over the first 10 years, this legislation builds in gross new spending of $1.7 trillion – and most of the new spending doesn’t even start until 2014. Once that spending is fully phased in, the House Democratic bill rings up at more than $3 trillion over ten years.

“Additionally, this bill cuts critical Medicare and Medicaid funding by $628 billion, accounts for nearly $1.2 trillion in tax and fee increases and will explode the scope of government by putting the nation’s health care system in the hands of Washington bureaucrats. The $3 trillion price tag defies common sense – we simply cannot add all this new spending to the government rolls and claim to control the deficit.

“If we continue to pile more and more debt on the next generation, they will never be able to get out from under it. The health care system needs reform, but this massive expansion of government, financed by our children and grandchildren, is the wrong way to proceed.”

… of HR3200 you see that in year ten the costs are $260 billion a year and still climbing. Using that as a baseline for the next ten years gets you into the $3-4 trillion ballpark.

And who exactly is going to pay for this?

And who is going to challenge the Constitutionality? Remember the fight over Bush spying on people’s library card — Well this crap says you just turn over all you health records for who know who to look over, and for what purpose.

Costs to the Internal Revenue Service of implementing the eligibility
determination, documentation, and verification processes for subsidies. Those
costs would probably be between $5 billion and $10 billion over 10 years.

In the new updated whip count, the “no or leaning no” has gotten a lot longer in comparison to yesterday’s list.

Also important is the “undecided/reviewing the bill” section. This list has been added, and I was shocked to see Loretta Sanchez’s name. Being from California myself, I know her to be a big, big lib no matter that she says she’s a Blue Dog (BGINO). She probably will vote yes, but she must be getting major heat from her constituents.

Keep calling, e-mailing and faxing, everyone! Get this list and target the wobblers. If we can’t be in Washington today, let’s help our brothers and sisters who will be.

These trivial arguments and logic will never deter the original, ever continuing and main objective of political control over the populous. The Democrats are so close to winning this final battle that the leftist political Pavlovian reaction in them (resorting to outright lies) is overtaking any semblance of level headedness. Losing is not an option for them, for if this is not imposed on the people, their ruinous rampage will be exposed in the aftermath, and they will not prevail to control for a generation.

so it is along those lines that we have to appeal to their moronic (misused/misconceived) notions of ‘The Greater Good’ and ask how it is served? When they stumble for any response, whatever they come up with will be easily refuted. Bankrupting a Nation, does not serve that “Greater Good” Destroying the HC coverage of the Majority, and dragging all down to the usual Liberal ‘lowest common denominator,’ also does not serve that supposed “Greater Good.” Putting more and more people out of work as the Economy is further degraded by onerous taxation, does not serve that Greater Good…. and down the line….

        themselves.

And the scary thing is that some of them understand it, but cannot help themselves or their leadership.

Even for the Dems that’s pretty good. At this rate we’ll all be in chains by the end of next week.

I wonder if this will get the attention of Daily Kos, the media, and various others of the Insane Left ? Nah, most of them will welcome it.
And when do we start getting jail sentences for opposing these people?

I’ve been watching Fox all morning and haven’t heard a single mention of this new CBO analysis. Considering they are trying to vote on this monstrosity today, wouldn’t it make sense for the Republicans to try and get this info out there and make Dem’s answer for that???

      waste.

      Read your news.

it would be funnier if not true!

This is why w/e’s are picked for the info drop – so that it can/will be mostly ignored as pre-taped programs tend to air. Also why they are working to ram through the votes on a Saturday today, and we are getting only a few Breaking-News breaks for that and the lame (lack of) reasoning of Democrats speaking on the subject at their Press-drop (so their Liberal MSM cohorts can pick up a few quotes for tomorrows Pravda releases). It also gives them time to pile through the transcripts and SPIN (The “Pretend you’re a Liberal MSM reporter (and Spin the story)” Challenge) Conservatives/Republicans comments OUT OF CONTEXT!!!

On Fox this afternoon, they had their usual investment discussion. At one point, someone in the discussion said “Well, if it’s so good at $1 Trillion, why not make it $2 Trillion?”

    And lo, the Congress answers…

THE REALITY OF PELOSI HC BILL
    Passed democrat-controlled House?NOV 7.2009
There is NOTHING in either demo-socialist Party bill addressing portability job-to-job or buying (shopping for) insurance across state lines or addressing tort reform which is a huge medical cost passed along or assures voters that illegal aliens will not be eligible or spends less than a trillion dollars for an already broke nation.
There ARE over a hundred unelected gov-meant Boards, Panels and such in the 1,990 pages hidden from the voters.
There ARE numerous taxes to be passed along to YOU, ?triggers? and ways the gov-meant will force you into ?their? national Program and
ARE huge costs?remember Medicare was 9x what Congress told us it would cost.
Obama, Reid and Pelosi are serial lying cowards that refused to let America even see the Bill?what does that tell you?
    =====
CBO Puts House Health Bill Total Cost At $1.055 Trillion??Death Panel? Measure Survives?
?A triumphant Speaker Nancy Pelosi compared the legislation to the passage of Social Security in 1935 and Medicare 30 years later.??
(both of which the congress mismanaged to bankrupt status and cost many times more than we were told? as their fraud remains unchecked)
