Snowe’s Yes Vote and ObamaCare’s Future
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | October 14th at 01:17 PM |
While Senator Snowe’s yes vote in the Senate Finance Committee was a shock to liberals and conservatives, it is neither a defeat for conservatives nor a victory for liberals. The bill would have passed Committee regardless of how Sen. Snowe voted. Senator Snowe, in her own words, said her vote was a maybe on the Senate floor. Smart political observers like Carrie Budoff Brown at | Read More »

California Medical Association Criticizes Senate Bill
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | October 13th at 12:45 PM |
Perhaps this is the first sign that the nation’s doctors will have the courage to stand up and oppose the latest version of ObamaCare. I mean, if even the deep-blue California Medical Association is criticizing it, then it really has to be bad for the Democrats. MedicalNewsToday reports: “Health care reform being drafted by the U.S. Senate Finance Committee fails to fix fundamental funding problems | Read More »
Where’s Waldo’s Vapor Bill?
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | October 10th at 10:37 AM |
The unsatisfied quenching of the Dem thirst for health care reform continued as the Senate Finance Committee received their vapor score for their vapor bill which had the net effect of discrediting the Congressional Budget Office. U.S. Rep. Shadegg renamed CBO the Cooked Books Office with a stinging post (as in, that’s gotta hurt): Could you make your family budget look good in a ten-year | Read More »

Vapor Bill Gets a Vapor Score from CBO
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | October 8th at 11:32 AM |
The MSM would like the American public to believe that the Senate Finance Committee bill was scored by the Congressional Budget Office. After all, WaPo, the NYT and the WSJ reported: WaPo: “The bill would cost $829 billion over the next decade.” NYT: “The budget office analyzed the bill … its newly projected cost — $829 billion over 10 years.” WSJ: “The latest Senate health | Read More »

Vapor Bill — What it Means, Why it Matters, How You Can Stop It
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | October 5th at 09:03 PM |
What it Means: Vapor bill: A bill which moves through the legislative process in one or more houses of the U.S. Congress without legislative language. The best example of a Vapor Bill is the Senate Health Care Reform bill, which has no legislative language, but has been amended in the Senate Finance Committee. The term Vapor Bill was derived from the word Vaporware, a term | Read More »
Public Option Vote Forces “the Reveal” of the War Going on Inside the Democratic Party
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | September 30th at 04:42 PM |
Slate’s John Dickerson has finally said what has been so glaringly obvious for so many months, but has been ignored, not discussed and generally denied by the MSM and the supporters of ObamaCare with great discipline: the internal divisions inside the Democratic Party over specific policy issues contained inside ObamaCare could cause it to collapse: “With nearly all Republicans opposed to the president’s plan, the | Read More »

The Secret Medicare Cuts
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | September 29th at 09:25 PM |
Republicans are in possession of a letter which asks: Where are the secret Medicare cuts going to come from? Given that both Rasmussen and the AP polls have come up with the same answer: 59% of seniors are opposed to ObamaCare, the draft letter below has greater significance for Seniors than just the political implications for the Democrats.
Rockefeller Amendment for a Public Option Fails 15-8
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | September 29th at 04:01 PM |
Senator Rockefeller’s public option amendment offered in the U.S. Senate Finance Committee went down in flames today. The implications for Speaker Pelosi are profound. Her insistence on a public option in the House bill will force even more Democrats to vote no, and the chances that it will become law are small. Rockefeller is threatening to offer the same amendment on the Senate floor, but | Read More »

By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | September 24th at 09:18 AM |
Daily Kos is reporting that Organizing for America is sending emails to Democrats in Washington State to pressure Senator Cantwell to change her pledge to vote no on health care reform unless the Senate includes a public option. Senators Cantwell and Rockefeller have both pledged to vote No if the bill does not include a public option. The Organizing for American email reads in part: | Read More »

Sen. Baucus, without Senators Rockefeller, Wyden and Snowe Now does not Have the Votes to Pass the Bill Out of Committee
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | September 16th at 03:30 PM |
The words tax/taxes and fine/fines appear in the Senator Baucus bill 243 times. There are Not Enough Votes for the Baucus Bill to be Voted Out of the Finance Committee Without Senators Wyden, Rockefeller and Snowe, Chairman Baucus does not have the votes to pass the bill out of the Senate Finance Committee. This means there will be horse trading a-go-go and the results will | Read More »
