Israel Might Be Striking Iran Right About……Now!

This could be breaking news, or just another internet scam, but according to chatter on twitter at least two KC-130 tankers and an undetermined number of F-16 (possibly eight) have taken off from the Israeli Ramat David Airbase southeast of Haifa.

According to the twitter source, communications from that airbase has been cut off.

While there is unrest in the streets of Tehran over the stolen Iranian election, this might well be Israel’s best opportunity to strike the nuclear facilities that Iran is building throughout their country, and to remove the immediate threat from an Iranian nuclear arms program.

The twitter account named KeeperOfTruth began tweeting about four hours ago with the information that the Ramat David Airbase was on high alert, and pilots were in their planes on the ground.

First posts suggested that the Iranians might be using the cover of civilian unrest to launch a strike at Israel, in unlikely scenario.

# Two KC-130H tankers are out of the hangers at Ramat David airbase in Israel. Sufas are also lining the runways. #iranelection #Mousaviabout 3 hours ago from web

#iranelection Increasing civil unrest in Iran makes the liklihood of an Israeli airstrike on nuclear facilities there almost certain.about 4 hours ago from web

The latest post, at this time, suggests that at least ten planes, eight fighters and the two tankers, have taken off — destination unknown.

Quote:

# Nothing from Ramat David but a txt that said “back in a bit”. 8 planes had taken off, 2 tankers confirmed. #iranelection #Tehran1 minute ago from web

# Depending on the route distance from Ramat David to Iran is 900-1400 miles. F-16s cruise 500-600 mph. #iranelection #Tehran24 minutes ago from web

If this is an Israeli strike on Iran, God be with them.

or it could be just precautionary.

    The latest tweet reads:

4 the record, I think activity at Ramat David may just be a precaution against a strike by Iran. Im just passing info. #iranelection #Tehran6 minutes ago from web

I’m not sure why you would scramble tankers just as a precautionary measure.

Perhaps its to shake up Tehran… without actually attacking…

    Michael Totten’s blog.

He has nothing about the Israelis launching aircraft FWIW.

We don?t know whether the policeman and the man on the edge of the crowd already realize what has happened. The man has stopped being afraid ? and this is precisely the beginning of the revolution. Here it starts. Until now, whenever these two men approached each other, a third figure instantly intervened between them. That third figure was fear. Fear was the policeman?s ally and the man in the crowd?s foe. Fear interposed its rules and decided everything.

      superb writing…

Totten’s stuff is so good I get lost trying to find a quote. It’s akin to picking an entree in a really good Thai restaurant, the last thing you look at is the most appealing and yet you know if you venture on you’ll find something better. (Sorry about the “food” analogy to true genius, never blog hungry)

Totten has original sources in Iran – lots of them – and he’s trusted. He’s also forgotten more about Iran that everybody else ever knew.

for the next few weeks. Israel will mix it up as they watch what is going on. I am sure the Mossad has agents on the ground in Iran looking for an opportunity to assassinate Ahmadinejad during the turmoil.

There are a few Imams that could also use their attention….

Israel steps into the dark and bombs it.

I know, the Iranian military has to have some separate communications. But I’d bet they would be limited in some unexpected ways. Just sayin’

an EMP (Electro magnetic Pulse )bomb that would take out all of Iran’s electronics…

It’s called a “nuclear weapon”. And just needs to be triggered at a very high altitude.

demonstrate to Iran that they can reach their nuclear reactor facility real easily!

Someday real soon I believe Israel will act!

    …………didn’t occur.

……Walks to the podium ; Looks at his wristwatch…….

“Good evening, people of Israel and the world.” ; Looks at his wristwatch.

“I stand before you humbled as the elected leader of the only true Democracy left on our planet.” ; Looks at his wristwatch.

“Suffice it to say, these are quite interesting times for our homeland, but ‘change’ has come…. I ‘hope’ you will understand.”

Looks at his wristwatch one more time and says, “…..3…..2…..1 President Im-a-dinner-jacket, Premier Abbas, President Asaad, look up in the sky – all of you. It’s not a bird. It is a plane though……. allot of them actually and we are ascending to the role of Superman. Bye-bye….. Who’s got ‘next’, because we’ve got more.”

The “message” was directed at the Obama Adminstration…

Prime Minister Netanyahu clearly articulated Israel’s position regarding the required framework for a two-state solution in his foreign policy speech at the Begin-Sadat Center. His insistence on a nuclear free Iran is very well known.

Absent a viable two-state solution and a nuclear free Iran, Prime Minister Netanyahu also made it very clear through the aforementioned military exercise that Israel considers the military option to be a viable and necessary option.

I believe what we are seeing is both a message from Israel to Iran and to the U.S. that they will conduct a military strike if necessary, and a precautionary measure of readiness. You put tankers in the air if you want to be able to have aircraft in flight, holding near the target, ready to strike on few minutes notice. I think that’s the position Israel wants to be in at the present time given the potentially chaotic situation in the ground in Iran.
