Sarah Palin is the future of the Republican Party. She accomplished in one week, by herself, with sincerity and integrity what it took Barack Obama two years of scheming, dissembling and fraud with the help of a legion of minions financed by rich power brokers to achieve. The week before the convention she was eating a corn dog at the Alaska State Fair chatting with the locals.The Palins. The week after the convention she had won the hearts and minds of millions with an honest description of how she saw the world.

But there was a reaction. The appearance of this totally (well, almost totally) unknown woman from, “Where? Alaska?! Alaska?” was anathema to every professional politician on both sides not to mention the sanctimonious MSM. Squadrons of reporters and lawyers were dispatched to Wasilla to find anything and everything that could be used against her. Meanwhile Wright, Alinski, Ayers et.al. remained virgin territory for investigation by the MSM. Finding nothing, since necessity is the mother of invention, they either embellished trivialities or they made it up out of whole cloth. They even resorted to relelentless scurrilous personal attacks on her and her family with a ferocity I haven’t seen in my lifetime.

I recount all this to establish the magnitude of the threat the establishment in general and the left in particular perceive her to be. By her very existance she threatens the foundation of the liberal Weltanschauung that has been so carefully nurtured for 71 years. And the fact that their salvos of vitriol had no perceived effect drove them into a frenzy. Blind with rage they revealed the face behind the mask. They were desperately putting forth a candidate about which virtually nothing was known.
