The “Emperor” has no Clothes!

Dr. Jim Gschwind

The Despondent Correspondent

A wild and crazy night? Who would’ve guessed the Master manipulator and our “ruler” (according to Valerie Jared) would fold at such a crucial time to hold on to power? Finally we see “fearless leader” without his royal attire stumbling like a high school debater on his first competition.

Part of this was that Romney came out in the debate as a “pro” and a “businessman” who knew what he was talking about. The other part of the scene was devoted to a stumbling Obama who probably didn’t even practice as he has said he has a “gift”. What a “gift”! I’ve told you all along that he had no experience in anything and is totally lost without a puppeteers’ hand up his behind as he has no concept of what he is doing. He is just more totally enthralled with the power he has and thinks nobody would dare oppose his great oratory skills which were poorly lacking last night as even Democratic pundits admitted. Without his teleprompter and a “script” he is totally lost.

Now don’t get me wrong he is a smart man, but cannot think “deep” as he has spouted the same lines that he was raised with so often that he actually believes the false statistics he has been saying for years to the point where he expects everyone else to believe them also. He still expects “Chicago style” that if you tell a lie enough times that some will believe it. Only this time he deceived himself to the point where when confronted with “real” facts and figures by a professional at facts and figures, he was totally lost. Romney obviously studied and Obama obviously didn’t even know the real truth of the economy. Lets also understand that he is so “cocky” that he probably said to himself two weeks ago “I can handle this lightweight” and went about his business of NOT running the country, being out of touch with fellow Americans in the land of “Camelot”, as well as running motorcades down Pennsylvania avenue to his favorite hamburger places, and basically just having fun enjoying the office of president and the power that comes with it. Michelle will probably dump you after the Election Barry because then she won’t have that extravagant government entourage to take her taxpayer paid $6 million dollar foreign visits. I always said that instead of Marie Antoinette who stated let the unwashed masses “eat cake” when they were out of bread, she would probably say “NO DON’T let them eat cake!”

When I say he is a “smart” man I mean it but the problem exists is that he is an ideologue and cannot see past what he has convinced himself he believes totally. What does he believe? He believes in class warfare where the middle class only “gets in the way”. He has done more to destroy the middle class than any other president in history and has great disdain for it. In four years our prosperous middle class has shrunk 12% and the black middle class which had been blossoming shrank almost 20% so he hurt the black middle class more than anyone and yet they will still vote for him. Why do you think the unemployment and food stamp roles have risen so sharply? It is because the former middle class individuals and families are now in POVERTY! Your President, (not mine) is devoid and showed it of any empathy towards those he considers beneath him and there was no way to hide it. Why do you think there has been a rise in a number of talented black conservative individuals at this time? They have common sense to break away from the crowd and do their own thinking. Lets not forget MLK was a “republican” and that during the Civil War DEMOCRATS were the “pro” slavery party. They also were responsible for those famous “carpetbaggers” suppressing black voting in the south with Jim Crow laws. That’s HISTORY and it’s FACT, so don’t come back with any of your liberal emotional “nonsense” about “social justice”. Social Justice is merely a nice term for stealing from someone to give to someone else like we think Robin Hood did.

What does Obama stand for? He stands for and has stated it in his OWN BOOK that he believes America is a despicable evil “colonial” power that oppresses all nations of the world. He and Michelle (she stated so remember?), believe the USA doesn’t deserve the position of number one power in the world and he set about correcting that wrong with our military and with his foreign affairs fiascos. He apologized after inauguration to all the Muslim nations of the world. His first national address was not to US it was to the Moslem world. He hates Christians, Jews and fellow blacks who are poor (uses them) and anyone who can sit in Jeremiah Writes church for 20 years and love the United States is indeed the best actor around. He cannot stand the existence of Israel no matter what he says publicly, he has spurned all of our allies and made new “false” friends abroad much to our dismay. He has taxed us without representation by going around a lazy congress too involved with its own problems to call him to task and an irresponsible Supreme Court afraid to challenge him and with his proliferation of Czars to avoid senate confirmation hearings. As a retired military man of the Marines, Army SF and Navy Intel, I still cannot stand that notorious “crotch salute” he displays when the national anthem is played or colors pass? Is that where his heart is? God help us all!

He was totally and unabashedly exposed for what he was last night. He showed he was a stumbling incompetent who had never had a job experience in his life (except for the one in his book where he said he was “behind enemy lines”) and completely despises America and its success story of “individual achievement” and progress. He showed he lacked any understanding of economics and capitalism and how it worked because his cause was always “emotional” as it is with many far left individuals (socialists, communists) who cannot comprehend “common sense” or “facts and figures” because they never argue or debate with them. Their call is ALWAYS emotional and when they are confronted with REAL facts and figures from someone trained in our own economy successfully, they always FOLD and resort to name calling such as “racist” which now stands for anyone opposing him and his Chicago “mob”. Fold is exactly what he did. Some blame it on lack of a teleprompter, but I ALWAYS knew what he was and what he did and didn’t stand for. It was apparent also that he is very “thin skinned” as he “endured” the debate instead of participating in it.

Hasn’t ANYONE read this guys own autobiography? Warning flags are fluttering all through that fish wrapping. At least some are paying attention….thank God (politically incorrect? You betcha!). One local caller this morning to a local radio station stated that Obama “looked like the candidate instead of the President and Romney looked more knowledgeable and Presidential”….good for you. Fran Lutzs panel following the debate and he screens tightly his focus group to get a good cross-section had 13 Obama voters and after the debate 10 of them had switched! Let’s not forget the Hollywood ultra liberals who finally gave up in exasperation and tweeted all sorts of disparaging words? Of course don’t expect some of these kooks like Maher and the normal “suspects” of changing their votes.

Am I being to tough on him? Probably but then I’m DEDICATED to the proposition that if he gets re-elected, that this country is doomed and it will no longer exist as we knew and loved it and we will have a new civil war (which was predicted by one of those mystics we keep hearing about) and the Flag we knew and the values and standards we have). Who do we have to thank? Obama of course who went against the will of the American public too many times like George III and PURPOSELY divided this nation between the haves and have-nots and “gimmes”. I cannot and refuse to believe that almost half of this population of fellow Americans are “suckers” enough to fall for his tripe and are willing to lose everything in the process. I just CANNOT believe we have come to that. I have nothing to lose as an old man except to do this for my Children and grandchildren since I’m already on the “enemies list”.

Kudos to Romney finally (it’s about time) for coming out swinging and finally showing everyone that our glorious “emperor” really has no clothes…..!

FEARLESS LEADER?

The Despondent Correspondent

Dr. Jim Gschwind

Remember “Fearless Leader” from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon? (Yes I know I just dated myself or I could say I couldn’t avoid watching it because my kids were watching it like most of you would argue). We have “fearless Leader” today of course and we could substitute “Boris” as our Vice President and “Natasha” would be white house “boss of bosses” Valerie Jared with her hand up “Fearless Leaders’” back like the puppet he is.

Joking aside, never had we had a president without such a spine and without any knowledge of leadership except what he’s read in college and hasn’t applied. What we have in the Oval Office is an “empty suit” devoid of any caring for the constitution, this republic which he is single handedly destroying and everyday people everywhere that he has stripped of individual dignity. Don’t even pull the race card on me….I have children and grandchildren of color who I love dearly. Especially don’t pull it if you were one of the previously burgeoning black middle class that’s been expanding since the 70s and now you are back where you started. Statistics show the black middle class was hit hardest by Obama policies, so WAKE UP. Statistics also show minorities such as blacks and Latinos suffered more unemployment than whites so why are you still so enthralled with this figure of ineptitude?

Never mind that Obama has far surpassed any other president in history including FDR with his “rule” by decree (940 executive orders and counting, three times higher than any other president) which are highly illegal especially if they have anything to do with raising revenue which is the sole purview of congress. That’s a constitutional matter so it is no wonder why our current “fearless leader” practically laughs at the constitution as a meaningless rag? Do not and NEVER forget that it was this year March 23rd that “fearless leader” signed the emergency Executive Order which would allow him to control what you eat, drink, where you live, ration food, where you could travel and what you could think if he thought there was a crisis enough to warrant it. Can you imagine (John Lennons words not mine) a country like ours where you would need “travel papers” to visit other states or counties? Can you imagine all the taxpayers money is being used by this administration to sue other states and local governments to prevent them from carrying out their own local voters will? It was Valerie Jared who stated in 2008 after the election that they “would be ready to RULE on day one”. Do any of you steadfast American’s want to be “RULED”?

I thought we got rid of “rulers” over 200 years ago. If we were to look at the Declaration of Independence with the charges against King George III each and every one of those charges actually fit in today’s administration politics and policies. Dan Zimmerle in his pamphlet “Unfit to Rule” lays out this case item by item and it would astonish you the matchups from 200 years ago. I would encourage all to google this and get a copy before it is outlawed.

The litany of campaign lies continues and will continue because truth has died a quick and violent death under the onslaught of the Chicago political mob that “rules” us today. Their motto is obviously “if you repeat a lie long enough and hard enough, they will believe it and it will then become truth”.

Do any of you actually believe that with Michelle’s’ costly “vacations” things will get better if he is re-elected. Most in DC know and most CAN know just by the open files (Breitbart released these but they are open to the public) of the White House Schedule and daily briefing schedule how many briefings he has missed. He has missed over 50% of his National Security Council Briefings in favor of fundraisers. The week prior to the attack on the Council in Bengasi he was not briefed at all. He was however “informed” on 9/11 that the Cairo American Embassy and the Benghazi Counsulate were under attack. The White House log shows him then logged out to “bed”. I sincerely hope he was “sleeping on it” again. He is hardly ever at work in the Oval Office or even at his desk in the residential quarters. He is either on “vacation”, golfing, taking expensive trips with or without Michelle and her extravagance (Almost like Marie Antoinette…except. DON’T “let them eat cake”). His stewards and lower staff and some higher ones have admitted that he does seem more entranced by the “perks” of his office rather than fulfilling his oath of office and actually doing something. Do you think he wrote any of the bills he proposed? Try the largest congressional liaison staff the White House has ever seen. He makes the speech and then his ONLY follow through as a leader is “handle it guys”. He did not WILLINGLY kill Osama Bin Laden. He had to be “forced” obviously without Valerie Jared around who was “blocking” Paneta and Clinton when they continually asked him for the “green light”. They finally tricked him into giving the “go” when he had no other choice and he didn’t have the puppet master around controlling him.

If you don’t want a “ruler” or maybe someday a “monarch” (dare I say it?) get out and VOTE, and if you are a Democrat who isn’t voting for Obama, then vote again, like you normally would, “Chicago style”. Such are my comments about our current “royal family” and their disdain for the ordinary individual and the constitution.

We don’t need “fearless leader”, “Boris” and “Natasha” in for another four or we will no longer be able to be called the “United States of America”. Where is “Moose and Squirrel” when we need them to save us?

Global Warming News? To Whom?

The Despondent Correspondent

Dr. Jim Gschwind

I’ll make this short and sweet. The same quasi-scientists who warned us of an ice age in the 70s keep trying to make things “fit” their scheme of things. Only because political correctness, grants and offers of big money dictate that they do so.

I’ve been saying for at least two years now that the deep earthquakes have tilted the earths axis to the point where the North Pole is now 40 miles closer to Moscow. Many have wondered why their local weather has changed so much…not many Florida hurricanes since 2005 after the deep Indian Ocean earthquake and resulting deadly tsunami is there? The ocean and air currents that continuously encircle the earth develop all our weather and when something interferes along the route…guess what! Weather changes! More evidence of this is that the port of Nome Alaska had to be “rescued” by a convoy of gas and food tankers with icebreakers leading the way as they had become isolated by the Bering Sea Ice this year.

It has been reported by earth scientists much to their horror (how do we cover this up?) that the earths oceans have actually dropped ¼ inch in the last decade, meaning “ice is being formed SOMEWHERE”. I love that statistic because it is the only thing Obama predicted that would come true…when he said that the oceans would recede during his 2008 campaign. I hope he really doesn’t take credit for this one. I guess the scientists that continue to measure and test Ice in the Greenland area haven’t caught on to this one yet and can’t quite comprehend that Greenland is actually now 40 miles closer to the equator….so they keep reporting that “ice is receding and melting in the North Atlantic”….a high School kid could point out the error of their ways.

NEW NEWS: A new statistic was just reported today stating that the Artic Ice Shield is “thicker” than it has been in a decade. How are they going to make this stat fit their doomsday model while batting around their hockey stick? Are you hearing anything from the media about this “incredible” new finding? That’s why I posed the question “to whom” is this news…Keep looking.

Even Al Gore had to publicly admit that proposing more ethanol was wrong when he did so. I give him credit for being so public about it. This is after scientists actually found that burning bio fuels such as corn and soy as ethanol actually contributes more harm to our atmosphere than regular fuels. But has that stopped the politicians from polluting our media airwaves and congress with more and more corn, sugar and soy subsidies to produce fuel rather than using those products to feed starving third world people who depend on corn even more than we do? Don’t forget your bread and meat prices have been driven up because there is less and less grain for “human” consumption and for livestock “feed”. Cattle farmers in Texas are folding up due to the high cost of grain as well as dairy farmers elsewhere. Do you think Ben Nelson in Nebraska or Grassley in Iowa care about this….I don’t need to give you the answer do I? This is all due to “political expediency” and “correctness”. “Green” is the magic word in government circles and don’t forget it.

But remember this…there is big money behind the alternative fuel and green movements now dominated by various left wing causes and they cannot admit defeat despite the fact that recent polls show more and more Americans are skeptical of their cries of alarm.

Humans aren’t polluting the earth……Politicians and government drones are.

What Have we done!!! WAKE UP!
Dr Jim Gschwind
The Despondent Correspondent

I’m not going to try to politicize a tragedy. The ambassador was a good man with good intentions and his loss is a great one as well as his aids that were gunned down. But we should take note that here was a good and well intentioned man who gave all for not only our nation but for the very people that murdered him. He survived going into the warzone during our support for the splinter groups including the Moslem Brotherhood while undergoing and trying to avoid “live fire” which is more than many diplomats would endure. He was in the “thick” of it before Ghadafi was finally hunted down. Granted this dictator our ambassador helped the Libyans bring down was one of the most loathsome “butchers” the world has seen and he deserved the ill end he met. Our ambassador was there to hear the cheers of victory and “we love you US” chants when the dictator met his end. So where was that loyalty from the Moslem Brotherhood government of Libya when all our ambassador was seeking was the safety of his own embassy in Bengazi? I might add, that international law states that the soil of a foreign embassy is considered that nations’ soil and it is the host governments’ responsibility for it’s protection. Where were they? We’ve given them billions to support the Moslem Brotherhood, where is that loyalty. I feel for the small band of Marines that were expected to do the job of the host government. As a former Marine, I know embassy Marine guards are only there primarily “for show” and shouldn’t be expected to defend against a hoard of unruly mobs which I’m sure they did and were prepared to do as good Marines. These Americans we just lost should be mourned as “brave” americans. AND…..we should consider this an “act of war” which under international agreements IT IS and act accordingly. Israel has survived with the attitude of an “eye for an eye”, etc and done so successfully, lets take a page out of their book of “survival”. I WANT my pound of retributional flesh from Libya and Egypt and I want my government to do SOMETHING more than words about it. Don’t give them more money for one! Abandon them and let them kill each other as they are historically prone to do rather than taking their frustrations out on good honest Americans!

A few hundred miles away in Cairo, our embassy came under the same attack. In both places one can only notice the black Al Queida flags in both crowds and yet the US sends “relief” money to those who got trampled by their own mobs? Why?

Make no mistake as a former Intelligence Analyst, and a God fearing man, I know in my heart there is no such thing as “coincidence”….it’s ALL either by the hand of God or the hand of MAN. Yes, MAN….men to whom nothing is honorable and promises and false praise mean nothing and will turn on you in a heartbeat. That’s the Muslim Brotherhood in both countries. A brotherhood, this administration helped put in power in both countries! When will we learn that you CANNOT buy loyalty from people who instinctively want to kill you and hate you just because you are Americans. They are trying to tell you it’s about some independent movie producer in LA doing a story on Mohammed. Don’t believe it…if it was so they would’ve sent “hit men” after him alone and a cleric would’ve called for it. Coincidence that both countries attacks were well coordinated chanting “we are Osama Bin Laden” daring us to fly a drone over them? Coincidence it was on the anniversary of 9/11 attacks.

What does our state department do? Apologize for our American value of free speech instead of condemning these despicable acts? At least they had the common sense to pull that statement back. But what does that say to other countries in the Middle East? Where was fearless leader the “killer of Bin Laden”? Probably “sleeping on it” as he is prone to do when under stress. What are we doing and what will we do? Probably give them another Billion to rebuild the buildings destroyed in the mob scenes or for mob protesters accidentally crushed to death by their own compatriots. WHY did it take him so long to make a public announcement? What was he doing, calling for a vote by the cabinet? Is this leadership? My GUT says NO.

I was criticized recently by no less than my own family because I described the DNC convention as “pure craziness” and “circus”. I don’t back down. The love of my own family is at stake with me but I will NOT shirk my sworn love of country and belief in what I’m doing is right. I know I’m already on the enemy list for the administration (under Nixon you would’ve never stood for this now would you?,…but it’s okay for the new “chosen one”).

This is too insane that we actually expected people that hate us to suddenly love us because we sponsored their revolution. Is it any wonder that the Syrians want the “same deal” against their horrible despot?

I still worry and will until after the election that this administration will halt elections if they look like they are in jeopardy by declaring martial law, all the signs are there that we see in other 3rd world countries. See…..we have already been demoted to 3rd world status. Doesn’t that bother anyone one bit? I have thousands of readers and get a lot of positive feedback, but the ones I really worry about are the ones I don’t reach. If these things don’t bother others like me I begin to wonder if I’m just the voice “crying in the wilderness” but God gives me strength to carry on and I pray deeply every morning for the strength to do so.

We have our own “vacant seat” despot to worry about (all the grievances against King George the III absolutely “fit” this dictator even today). We are leaderless, helpless and without a proper course of action being led by a “community activist” who is in over his head but “has a plan” which we’ll never know. If you re-elect him and regret it later, I will turn my back on you and just don’t want to hear it but will never say “I told you so”. Isn’t the “evidence” piling up enough.

What does it take America!!! You can’t BUY LOVE….WAKE UP!!!!

DNC Almost Godless in Charlotte?……TV off anyone?

Dr. Jim Gschwind

The Despondent Correspondent

Like many good decent individuals I came away from the TV experience called the Democratic National Convention with turning the TV off so hard it almost broke, before I went outside and wanted to scream to vent.

Historians tell us that our first constitutional convention contained the most extraordinary assembly of talented individuals at that time that could be imagined. Kind of the political “dream team” of the 18th century would best describe these founding fathers. Now here we are almost two and a half centuries later and where has all the “talent” gone? Never before has there been such a gathering of Kooks, nut jobs, anti-americans, atheists, socialists, communists and just plain jerks as had gathered in the fine city of Charlotte. We could call this the “scary team” not “dream team”.

The DNC embarrassed itself immensely and it was obvious even the nut job Debbie Wasserman Schultz was running her mouth trying to do damage control but instead only made things worse as she is prone to do.

The vote on whether to allow God on the platform was absolutely insane. It was obvious to even the most disinterested observer that at least half of those in the audience voted against God and were the same ones booing when the bogus result was announced. So we know this much….at least half the delegates didn’t want God around. Charlotte is a good God-fearing town….I wonder how those folks felt. Oh yes and I do have friends who are good people and are Democratic and I feel sorry for their embarrassment at this horrible behavior.

Shouldn’t be so surprised though because the Democratic Party has been an “umbrella” or more aptly a “circus tent” for so many off the wall groups and causes since the turmoil of the 60s that is it any wonder when they all begin to speak, it is a chorus of insanity?

I’m not going to deal with ALL the speakers….just pick on two because they all lie, even the convicted felon (perjury) Clinton. The fact checkers probably gave up by now and went on vacation.

First of all dear, dear Joe (Biden) who gives us republicans so much fodder……get your facts straight and all of you for God’s sake (ooops you don’t like that word do you?). You CAN’T quote job figures unless you go straight to the site that gives you the info….(Bureau of Labor Statistics) and please remember that quoting how many jobs have been created is useless unless you SUBTRACT the ones lost which remains in the MINUS column when one considers “net” jobs. Secondly and finally, as I have said on too many occasions from my sources when I was working up in DC….Obama does NOT have a SPINE or he wouldn’t be bending it so often in front of foreign leaders and between Oct and May when Obama was finally killed….he had to be TRICKED into giving the green light as the helos had already been launched (Panetta and Clinton started them out) and were almost at the point of no return when he reluctantly gave the green light and that was ONLY because Valerie Jared wasn’t there blocking their audience with his majesty and he couldn’t tell them this time his favorite come back….”I’ll sleep on it”. According to many close to the White House, we’ve been leading from behind because he’s either on vacation, the golf course, or “sleeping on it” as he has done repeatedly. I know others know this and have picked up on it, especially Brietbart if you want to double check but I’ve been writing this story from white house (staff, servants etc.) for over a year and at least five times in my column. Those close to the White House says he rarely goes to work in the Oval Office and seems to just like the “perks” of being “Prez”.

Now to pick on the “Prez”…..First do not lecture us on God when we don’t know which God you hail to this day, or even if you are faking it when you go to church publicly there in DC……you are a master of deception and most Americans are no longer fooled. Secondly when you mentioned the illegal immigrants children in schools for instance in LA you just had to mention that they do the Pledge of Allegiance when they are constantly fighting in LA about running the Mexican Flag in front of some schools and replacing the American Flag? Does that sound like individuals who WANT to become American?

Save your praise please Mr. “big shot” for those proud Latin Americans who want a better life for their children as Americans…The majority of Latinos I know….no, ALL of them are decent “Americans” who work hard and have a work and family ethic this country desperately needs. This praise goes out to many of my “SA” friends and even relatives especially my daughter and her beautiful family, who I Know respect America better than YOU do with that notorious “crotch salute” you display whenever then national Anthem is played or America the Beautiful is sung at a game. Every vet I know gets so disgusted when you do that, you are becoming more used in Urinals now because of it than Hanoi Jane (surprised we didn’t see her up there also at the convention). We all know by now what you actually think of America and all your high-faluting praise of America in your speech was a lie wrapped in a pretty ribbon.

I feel sorry for my friends who are Dems, for the proud beautiful and “God” fearing city of Charlotte, for my Latino friends and relatives for this obscene display the past few days that is finally “over”, thank God.

In a way I must as a republican say “thank you” DNC for all the political ammunition you just dumped in Romney and Ryans laps if they have the courage to take advantage of it.

There….Vent over….but many of my friends now say we must really pray because if actually half of the population might be thinking of backing this power- mad, man and his henchmen from Chicago then this country is heading for more than just a financial crisis. Pray and if this doesn’t scare you to vote nothing else will. Till next time my dear readers from an “old-man” getting sooo very tired of being the voice crying in the wilderness……..

Too Bad we weren’t GREEN in the Fifties! Yes we ruined it for You…?

Dr. Jim Gschwind

The Despondent Correspondent

Not going anywhere….took me 15 minutes to prepare, tied the garbage cans to the telephone pole tied the deck umbrella down and collected small deck table items into a box and put it in storage. Got so much done today, but had to grocery shop, and tired of these people that “panic shop”, two gas stations out of gas. Been through four without evacuation on land and three at sea on Naval Ships, so it is almost automatic with me. I try and convince people the NOAA and National Weather Service HAVE to sound alarmist as they need to get that attention for “funding” and that NOBODY (even this know it all) knows where a hurricane will go until it’s well into the Gulf. Time for “distraction” and a part from the usual “norm”. Just wanted to prove I have more interests than just political.

Being Green in the 50s?
Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to me, that I should bring my own grocery bags because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment.

I apologized and explained, “We didn’t have this green thing back in my earlier days.”

The young clerk responded, “That’s our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations.”

She was right — our generation didn’t have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.

Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things, most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks. This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.

But too bad we didn’t do the green thing back then.

We walked up stairs, because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.

But she was right. We didn’t have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throwaway kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts — wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that young lady is right; we didn’t have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana . In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she’s right; we didn’t have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But we didn’t have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.

I’ve had many come-back comments regarding this piece and I remember I had to remember my first phone number (Redwood 57393) in DC for lst Grade (all the phones were one color…black, just like model T’s) and in El Paso remember getting off school bus and staring at a little screen with an indian test pattern with 10 strange kids I didn’t know waiting for Howdy Doody. I just came across my original post card of the original Mousketeer gang including Annette and Jimmy Dodd (close to my Goldwater bumper stickers and buttons). I remember smoking early because we could hit a machine just inside an establishment and throw a quarter in and get our pack and two packs of matches and run like the dickens as they yelled at us. I remember school buses didn’t stop at every corner and riding a bike to school sometimes meant walking it up a steep hill despite the playing cards in the spokes that made it cooler. I remember my first 45 rpm records (vinyl?); Young Love, Ricky Nelson; Cathy’s Clown, Everly Brothers (the girls at camp broke that record I played it so much); Cupid by Sam Cooke as well as the first transistor radio I owned (4 transister Toshiba) and my only Dick Clark summer concert in my little strip mall around DC in the country in 59. I remember my coonskin cap from Davy Crockett, the Robin Hood series cardboard snap together “fort” I almost spent a whole night in. I remember my Gene Autry plastic guitar and blanket; the saddle tripod kids TV seat; summer camp that was fun and taught you something; chemistry sets to blow the house up; rock fights which required a drug store employee to patch you up; my Roy Rogers Nellie Belle action vehicle and greenie stick-um caps for playing cowboys and Indians (so politically incorrect today); being a bully until the other kids outgrew me and my parents not even knowing today that it was usually about something someone said about my family; being an Altar Boy and sneaking a hit of Christian Brothers Altar Wine; being a paper boy and being afraid of the huge rottweiller that would chase me on my bike (I don’t think I ever had the nerve to “collect” from them either); learning to fly; learning to sail; learning the Foxtrot and the Twist and my first date where a parent had to drive you . This generation will never know the thrill of hearing the “shadow” on radio and masterpiece theater, The Lone Ranger and Captain Kangaroo nor the thrill of constant piano lessons. They won’t be thrilled with the idea that your family could only afford either a baloney sandwich or a plain grape jelly sandwich in your lunchbag in elementary school making “untradeable”.

This current generation has no idea how we entertained ourselves (or got into trouble) before the eternal babysitter (the TV and digital games). Kids I’m not that much of an old “foggie”, I can still beat all the Super Mario levels. That has made me the Grandpa that I have become and my daughter says I’m good at picking toys for the kids….of course I am, because I’m thrilled at all the neat toys they have now when we used to be content with a cardboard box slidding down a grassy slope, or catching fireflies at night. I buy toys for my seven grandkids with the idea that I’ll play with them and sometimes it causes them frustration waiting for “their turn”.

All that has become a fuzzy haze as I get older but a lot sticks out in my mind and I smile. Boy was I spoiled for the oldest in a rather poor family but we always found a way.

We didn’t know we were “green”, but because we were not high on the income ladder we “conserved” and made best out of what we had.

Too bad were weren’t “green”.

But isn’t it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the green thing back then?

Us “selfish” old people don’t really need a lesson in conservation from a smart-ass young person…

We don’t like being old in the first place, so it doesn’t take much to piss us off!

GENTLEMEN!!!! Shut your traps!!

Jim Gschwind PHD

The Despondent Correspondent

Thank you Todd Aiken!! Thanks for giving the Democrats a chance to keep Harry Reid as Senate Majority leader so we can have four more years of grid-lock and no budget even if the Romney/Ryan change ticket takes the White House and conservatives looking to return to our basic roots take the majority in the House. Once Again THANK YOU! With you now, we really need Bidens’ inane remarks helping conservatives and scuttling Obamas race more than ever now that you’ve evened the score…

He (Aiken) had until 5pm Monday to withdraw from the race after his moronic statements to allow the Republican Party in Missouri to name a replacement. Now that is not possible. He had led by 11% until that fateful remark and I’m sure every sane red blooded American woman (and probably a good portion of men) especially independents will surely vote against him and put a Democrat in the Senate. This puts in jeopardy the hopes that conservatives can regain their country by sweeping both houses and the White House. Pelosi, Reid and the hapless Obama couldn’t be happier, much to the chagrin of many.

This brings to mind something that I don’t normally talk about. Abortion!!!! I have my views but that’s personal and ARE NOT supposed to be in the middle of the most important POLITICAL battle of our country (i.e. whether to become a European socialist state, or remain a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC). I will only state this once and never bring it up again.

I believe the abortion issue is a MORAL issue between a woman, her own morals and her God and NOBODY ELSE, not even the government and especially you guys out there that want to look cool by voicing the female opinion and showing your “tender” side to score brownie points with the ladies. GUYS SHUT YOUR PIE HOLES…..!!! Unless you are able to carry and then pass something the size and sometimes weight of a bowling ball through your body….then you have NO RIGHT to even have an opinion. I will never judge a woman for her decision….it is HERS, not yours guys. Oh you might voice your opinion if you think it’s yours and that’s the end of it! Final decision is HERS!

This discussion has no place in POLITICS for as we all know you cannot “Legislate morality” and we all have our own morals and make our decisions based upon that and we learned those morals from our families and our friends and most importantly from the pulpit. We should ban any talk of abortion from the political scene and keep it where it belongs (i.e. in the families and in church). There should be NO LAWS supporting either side of this issue as it is strictly a MORAL issue and a private one at that.

Now that I’ve berated ALL GUYS for mouthing off about something they know nothing about and cannot experience (thank God, my sympathy pains stopped at the delivery room door…..). Time to lay it on thick to that idiot that made all us men and especially conservatives look like the twit he is. I’d like this numbskull to explain to me what an “illegitimate rape” is and what for Gods sake is a “legitimate” one? And where is the scientific proof that he believes the female body’s reproductive system “shuts down” during rape? I don’t care where he came from; he couldn’t have learned that in any school in the United States I know and love. Todd, you even eclipsed and silenced all of Bidens critics this week that statement was so stupid and moreover “memorable” (nobody will ever forget it) and probably from this day on….anyone who says something that insane (except perhaps for the Minnesota congressman who thought putting more Marines on Guam might make it “tip over” in the ocean) will now probably be referred to as “pulling a Todd” instead of “pulling a Biden”.

Now ladies your turn and only this once. I will never judge your decisions but I implore you to think wisely. Pregnancy is not an “illness” as some would have you believe. It has been going on since Adam and Eve. Yes there have been complications in the past that have threatened the life of the baby as well as the mother. But in this day and age of medical advances, those occurrences are very RARE. But, alas, yes, although we say RARE, that rarity just might happy to you but I pray it does not. My loving daughter (who is philippino and American) was told if she had one more that she might not make it so had tubal ligation. She had her six children choosing to continue until she had a precious girl (I’m so proud of all of them). Then she felt sorry for all those barren couples that try and try and cannot have children, so she surrogated three times (one was miscarriage) to give a couple a boy first and then a sister and she shipped them mothers milk after birth. I was so proud of her. The lesson of this story is that there are sooooo…many barren parent want-to-bees out there that there is a thriving black market in baby adoption worth billions as well as overburdened legal agencies that cannot find enough babies (of ANY color or ethnic group) for all the couples that want them. My only request to the fine young ladies out there that find themselves in trouble or in an unwanted/unexpected pregnancy is that you give adoption a serious consideration. Once again, it is not my place to judge your final decision and you will receive no judgment from me……it has to be YOURS and only YOUR decision. Don’t even let the government with rules and regulations tell you what is naturally and properly between you, your own moral code, and your own God.

I certainly hope and pray even though I have my own Moral thoughts and issues that this eventually disappears from POLITICS. I support groups that oppose the government interference in this issue and that is the only reason I’m active in that capacity. The churches and families should be the ultimate “teaching” authority on the question of morality. Never in History has morality been “regulated” or “legislated” about successfully because individuals will follow their own individual morals codes that they were raised with regardless of what the government has to say about it. For that reason……Government agencies and political aspirants……Shut your Pie-holes!!…….and discuss POLITICAL issues not MORAL ones.

Well the news is settling in and at least Mitt picked someone who actually thinks and is pragmatic about problem solving….not to mention being “brave” just because he tells people “the way it really is”. And being from Wisconsin I’m sure the mentor of the “progressive” movement the late Senator Kefauver is turning over in his grave that a conservative tea-party member is carrying the tea-party banner and has excited the grassroots.

All the Democratic pundits are all trying to convince everyone that this is what they had hoped for because it gives them someone more controversial to attack and have already revised their old ad showing the lady in the wheelchair being thrown off the cliff. In this case however, I think they’ve underestimated the American public that has had versions of Ryans’ budget and SAVING of Medicare plan available for many to study for a while now and many smart individuals now understand it actually makes some sense and have come to understand that now a person over 55 will be affected in any way by it. It is common knowledge that Medicare will be totally bankrupt prior to 2024 and something has to be done now to “save” it (not abolish it as many were led to believe). How amazing that the attacks on conservatives for trying to save Medicare are coming from the same cabal of thugs that cut 300 million from Medicare in the Obama-care bill.

Romney could have actually done better but not by much. I believe that the Democracts/i.e. progressives are actually more concerned about the race for the white house now than ever before. Part of that reason is before this they could easily attack straight-laced but “unexciting” Mitt without him fighting back very hard and Mitt didn’t really put forth a written plan. With Ryan on the Ticket who is considered a real tea-party reformer especially on the budget (which the Senate under Reid haven’t had during Obama’s entire administration) now at least Mitt and his team-mate have an actual plan that has been put in front of the voters already and are doing well presenting it. It’s had the effect of firing up Romney also. Now I think Mitt Romney is a nice and intelligent and clean cut guy, but he tends to come off a little bit boring and about as exciting as a mouthful of mashed potatoes. He can’t seem to get audiences “fired up” as we needed in this vital election. The public has already responded to larger crowds when both of them are on stage as well as a proliferation of campaign donations (which Romney already had a lead in). Now the Obama thugs I’m sure will not dump their lying personal attack ads against Romney (Obama is silent while his committee defends their ads in interviews and has refused to take questions from the press on the negative ads) and now at least they will have to respond to the major economic problems we face that they have failed to respond to only due to the fact that their opposition has a real plan when they don’t except continue to “spend themselves out of a depression” and try to fix the economy by doing nothing but printing more money, which didn’t even work for Roosevelt. I think the American Public and voters

Add the fact that Ryan is an excellent debater (I would’ve loved to see West or Cain in a debate actually on the “issues” but that ship has sailed) and I look forward to him giving Biden a good trouncing next month in the only VP debate coming up. I know the tea-party is excited and it was probably wise for Romney to select someone also close to the tea-party as Romney himself was way down the list for tea-party support, that’s why they chose to concentrate their efforts at local levels fighting for congressional candidates they supported and state legislatures. Just some proof that not all intelligent people think the tea-party has “gone away” because it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Bottom line, .a very intelligent and wise decision by Romney and it has brought excitement back to the grassroots conservative supporters everywhere. We finally have a winning team for America.

GROUP-THINK and POLITICS

Dr. Jim Gschwind

The Despondent Correspondent

We conservatives (actually I consider myself more of a tea-party libertarian) get called a lot of names, but whooo unto us if we should actually call our political opposites anything other than “brother”. I am exaggerating here of course to make my point. I have many friends who are liberal and in fact I’m at odds with my own family (who I love but also who have also used those same epitaphs at me) and I respect those of opposite opinion, especially when I’m sure they are merely misguided and uninformed of facts that are readily available to all of us if we take the time to research them. Any time we make broad generalizations there will always be exceptions to the rule.

When I say that the ranks of the tea-party within the republican ranks are swelling with renegade independent thinkers of many ethnic groups, yes there are exceptions that continue to hold to their old fashioned, “traditional” thinking and mindset. I applaud those tenacious individuals on both sides (yes even some blue dog dems who do not consider themselves “progressive” (code for Wilsons, then Roosevelts and now Obamas anti-constitutionalists at the turn of the century to present) or just plain liberals. I’ll even admit and have written before that Obama would not have gotten OBL if it wasn’t for the tenaciousness of Leon Paneta and Hillary Clinton (someone I positively can’t stand, did something good?) who really orchestrated this event and didn’t get the green light from Obama (Valerie Jared was performing her usual “blocking” action) until helos were already launched and he had no choice really.

As a tea-party member I am against any, and I mean ANY politicians who want to tax us to death and increase an already bloated US Government and I want certain powers and authority RETURNED to the States where the Constitution says they belong.

Here in the South it is sometimes hard to tell who a Democrat/Liberal is and who a Republican/Conservative is and the voters push them hard for answers without mercy. It has been usual practice down here in local elections that a republican will switch to the democratic side just because his/her path in the primaries appears easier to election day. This happened en-masse during the Reagan years when it became “cool” in the south to be a Reagan republican, especially when his programs began to bear fruit in the second term. They were called Dixie-crats prior to that since many “straddled the line” between conservative and liberal and those lines were hard to discern. This still goes on today to a certain extent. In fact during the last election I voted for a local Democrat only because in a discussion I asked him certain questions and then turned to him and asked “Are you sure you are a Democrat?”.

All this aside we have all heard and seen polls produced saying that all Blacks will vote Democratic and all Hispanics will vote Democratic. Besides being pretty racist, these polls do not show the whole picture. The real picture is that despite being called traitors and other unflattering names many brave, intelligent, sharp blacks and Hispanics have joined the tea-party ranks. I have two publishers and friends I met at CPAC, Ron and William who are not only black but are both very intelligent and politically savvy individuals whom I respect quite a bit. One (Ron) in fact publishes the Tea-party Review nationally. Of course in past elections we had that feisty and irrepressible Alan Keyes who I loved to watch in debates and wished he had gone further in the process. Another activist who was with Glenn Beck on the mall when I was there was Dr. Aveda King, Tea-party supporter and niece of MLK (who was also a republican). Herman Cain was introduced at CPAC 2010 as a prospective candidate for President was a very smart and sharp individual from Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) Niger Innis. Let’s not forget Col Alan West who many want as VP on Romney’s ticket and who is constantly at odds with the congressional black caucus who continually belittle him and his intellect and courage. I read many black conservative authors and my favorite is Dr Thomas Sowell who constantly amazes me with his intelligent grasp of the whole situation. I also enjoy reading and listening to Charles Pain (no ….no….NOT from the “House of Payne” get away from that idiot tube/TV). Lets also not forget Condalezza Rice our former Secretary of State and academic. Does this sound like the tea-party or republican party at least is the “white boys” club liberals try and make it out to be?

What I admire is each of these individuals has broken away from “group” or “ethnic” traditional thinking and thought out problems on their own. I was horrified at the “dirty tricks” employed to get my candidate (Herman) out of the race. The unsubstantiated accusations were the same thing Rom Emmanuel did to Obama’s Senate opponent that also backed out at the last minute to save his family from embarrassment. Papers did not report that Cains secretary of decades said if something was going on she’d know about it and when he was on the Radio 760 AM out of Atlanta, he insisted on broadcasting from his house to care for an ailing wife. He wouldn’t have had time for such insanity. Sounds like sour grapes, perhaps it is…….my column and I’m entitled. A good man wasted, but he is still out there campaigning, that’s how brave he is. My point being that each of these individuals have recounted how difficult it was for them to become conservative when their “eyes were opened” to reality instead of false dreams and the names and insults they were subjected to. But the Black voting block is showing signs of crumbling and more and more brave individuals are giving “independent” thought to the political process for the good of the country instead of doing what they’ve been told is right throughout many generations. It is however still considered “traitorous” in many black communities for an individual to have “independent” thought and not go along with the group.

Seeing these brave honorable individuals and what they’ve put up with, who am I to run from namecalling? I think they have shown me the way more than others in my life.

Hispanics can really fool pollsters. Many political pundits think all Hispanics are liberal and want “open borders”. Talk to a few and I think you’ll be surprised, especially the Cubans in Miami and many Mexican Hispanics that I know. They are a hard working people with pride and they quite frankly don’t like “line cutters” or people that may come over and take “their jobs” that they have worked so hard for. I think many of you will be surprised on really how many middle class (and that is a BIG group that worked hard to get there) Hispanics are quite conservative. Rubio in Florida and Cruz in Texas are new tea-party darlings for example.

We have many other ethnic groups also finding their place in conservative ranks that “rebel” against what I call “group-thinK”. We have Bobby Gindle in Louisiana as well as a host of others joining our ranks. I have studied the Group-Think phenonema in my doctoral dissertation in crisis decision-making. My study found that the longer someone thinks about a decision, the less “altruistic” (empathy for others) we are and the longer we wait the more prone we are to “group think” or worry about what others would do or what they would think of our decision. Bottom line is I cannot stand individuals who “parrot” others template issued opinions without thinking like so many “lemmings” headed toward the cliff of national disaster.

I and others in the Tea-party are behind ousting Jeff Miller (R-Fl), but that is what the Tea-party is all about, we will go after and try to defeat a worthless Republican as well as a Democrat depending upon their ability to represent the voters wishes.

This is perhaps the most dangerous turning point in the history of this great country and the voters want the government to shrink and become more responsive to the real needs of its citizens and not autocratic and despotic as it has become. This has been the most “oppressive” regime/administration in our History and it must stop before it becomes too late to reverse our course toward this cliff of oppression. To use a “Bortz” term… “Ceasar” Obamus has issued over 900 executive orders with most having to do with going “around” congress. We need people up there to really defend the constitution and put a stop to this.

I do not and have never advocated violence. The violent nature of the Union “mobs” we’ve seen lately in Wisconsin and backing the “occupy” movement tells me as well as the Chicago Mob Political tactics being used that we must defeat Ceasar Obamus (Yes I know someone else used it and I don’t claim it, but I love it….) and his henchmen this November or we will not recognize this country in 2016 if I’m still alive. I’ve heard rumors of martial law and his March 2012 Executive order giving him total power to even ration food and collect arms and ammunition and tax, scares me. The government seems to be preparing for martial law for any excuse. I can’t be convinced that the purchase of 22 million rounds of “hollow point” are meant for training for all homeland defense is innocent. (for those of you who don’t know guns and ammunition…..every veteran will tell you “hollow point” rounds are for strictly anti-personnel and cause major damage to the intended target).

I’ve been called racist, while I’ve backed Keyes and then Cain for President and have children of mixed ethnicity as well as wonderful grandchildren and attended school in SW DC as only one of two or three white children in the entire school and got along. I’ve been accused of advocating violence when the opposite is true. I have however taken the oath as a military man and leader and a government worker many times in my lifetime and I DO take my oath seriously “to defend and protect the constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC”, something many of our leaders take litely (too litely!). I have only asked individuals to “keep their head on a swivel” and stay “alert” as I will and my military training taught me Americans never fire first and I refuse to believe that our honorable military would back any politician of either left or right wing in any “trumped up” Martial Law takeover bid , but I of course would honor my oath and join any and all on the barricades to be ready to defend my land and family and RETURN FIRE…only if that dreadful day ever occurred.

Our only hope is coming this November, please no matter who you vote for VOTE, for then at least you will be able to say you tried your best. The Tea-Party is Marching in the millions at the grass roots level this November….Join us.

I love my country, my family and I thank God every day that I was born in a land BLESSED BY GOD.

Dr. Jim Gschwind
The Despondent Corresponde

For those of you who were offended by my what libs think post: Understand what your parents told

you many years ago…”you are known by those you hang around with”……so if you believe in God,

understand that while it is a “broad” generalization (which means there is a MINORITY that don’t
think that way…..you are identified by conservatives due to the fact that the MAJORITY of your
fellow libs believe “in God we trust” should not be on our money, believe there should be no public

prayer in schools or anywhere (unless you are Moslem then Alla must have given you an exception),

We can’t call Christmas by it’s proper name and kids go on “holiday vacation” now and there must
not be any roadside crosses nor nativity scenes in town scare. MOST of your fellow libs believe
pregnancy is a “Disease” and promote the killing of unborn……..these are the people you are “identifying with”,
if you are a lib and don’t believe these things then you “might not be a lib”, unless you voted for a
“self avowed” (in his own words and in his auto-biography published before last election) communist then
you are what HE IS and his minions.
Remember (the bible) you are known by your friends…..so understand that while most liberals act this way, and you may not, by identifying with lliberals, you are inheriting what most people think of liberals. It means you are throwing yourself into their whole agenda. If you do not believe what liberals believe then you shouldn’t be offended and I will apologize to those people INDIVIDUALLY, but not as a GROUP. I stand by the definitions of “MOST” liberals.
