for being nervous. Look at the Republicans in Wisconsin. They stuck their necks out and they are getting slaughtered. Millions are flowing in against them, they are facing recalls and they are about to lose the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, they are left swinging in the wind.

When they do the right thing, they get abandoned with very few giving support.

They were not elected to worry about the media or the leftist screed. They were elected to do a certain job.

‘You can make your bed, but you have to lay in it.’ The way the GOP handles things leads to a lot of their misery. Take for instance the union thugs interfering with recall attempts by grassroots republicans in WI. They could have used law enforcement to quell that. They didn’t. They could have dealt with the LEOs who didn’t do their job during the union astroturf show at the capital. They didn’t. They could have repassed the law to get around that idiot judge’s ruling. They didn’t. They could have had an attack machine read (composed of tea party groups, PACs, etc) to smear the teacher’s union thugs and their associates. They didn’t. Politico had a great article ( I know!) this morning about the right trying to put together a mudslinging outfit on par with the left. Several conservatives quoted mentioned how on the right, from top to bottom, from House to grassroots, there is an unwillingness to fight dirty. Next time you get into a barroom tussle, try fighting by the queen’s rules. I’ll come visit you in the hospital or morgue. This wimpy approach to fighting is why the GOP is ‘swinging in the wind’; they are doing so at the end of a rope of their own fashioning.

They could have handled things better. But they were rather busy trying to deal with the situations while getting harassed and receiving death threats. So the fact that they didn’t handle the situation and pressure well justifies abandoning them? These people took a great political risk, were attacked from all sides, faced physical and death threats against themselves and their families and they are wimpy?

Maybe they would have more courage if they got some support rather than endless criticism.

I don’t see them backing down. A teacher was arrested for making those death threats. She is going down. They do have plenty of support – the left biased media is only showing one side of the story.

The left’s desperation is showing – they are like a wounded animal being backed into a cage – time to put them out of their misery.

        • avgjo

As far as death threats etc. yeah, you’re right. But it is incongruous with the rest of their action; we’ll face down union thugs, but we’re not going to deal in a very public and very strong way with smear ads or threats to our grassroots supporters like the folks who tried to get petitions for dim recalls and were assaulted by union thugs. This iron and clay mixture is brittle and it won’t hold.

    • izoneguy

That is what the left biased media would have you believe.

The reality is far different. Remember the spin the left put on the last elections in November. They were very wrong.

It’s the taxpayers against the takers. The takers will lose this time.

Let’s see what happens with the Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

      • clacourr

According to GOP internal polls, the Supreme Court election has pulled even in what should have been an easy win. A loss would be a big blow in the state and have effects nationwide. GOP office holders around the country will watch to see what happens to people who stick their necks out.

I have seen no evidence that reality is far different from what the media is saying.

We need to unite against the union thug tactics! Take our country back from these Marxist groups.

The media is seeing the handwriting on the wall:

The Hill Poll: GOP seen as more reasonable in spending-cut debate

    http://thehill.com/polls/153517-the-hill-poll-public-sees-gop-more-reasonable-in-budget-debate

A plurality of likely voters believes Republicans have been more reasonable than Democrats in the negotiations over spending cuts.

A new poll conducted for The Hill showed 41 percent polled said the GOP had been ?more reasonable,? while 29 percent said Democrats had been more sensible. Twenty-two percent said neither party was more reasonable than the other, and 7 percent were not sure.

Well something had to replace God, tradition, self respect, and thinking. But did it have to be government?

Did President Obama steal his 2012 re-election campaign slogan from a rival? http://t.co/pau3Yqu

  • veritaseequitas

a lot of the time. However, I believe the Dems are scared like little girls about the blowback being on them for a government shut down. The propaganda nonsense that is being repeated by the likes Howard “The Screamer” Dean and the media, is sheer horse manure. They remind me of little kids who think if they keep repeating things enough times, they will get what they want. The Republicans need to learn to fight down and dirty just like the Liberals do. They should start now, the 2012 election is going to be super ugly.

  • leftylurker

I like the idea. Critters shouldn’t get paid if they can’t pass a budget.

    • Aaron Gardner

After all, this isn’t their budget they’re working on.

      • leftylurker

Then all but the freshmen. I’m sick of pol’s expecting us to play by a worse set of rules than they do.

That elephant , or at least the look on his face, could very well be me each time I think of the geniuses in both parties, especially the timid fence sitters in the GOP.

If only they could grow a set.

I saw a picture of Paul Ryan (who I do like), concerning the proposed 2012 budget, with Robert Gates standing next to him. This tells me, without reading the story, that defense is getting a whack. Isn’t that usually what the Liberals his first, second and third?

    • http://www.liberallyconservative.com Liberally Conservative

No sooner did I post the comment that Rush Limbaugh announced he spoke to Mr. Ryan and declared the $4 trillion budget is fantastic.

Ryan, green eye shade and all is the man!

“You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”

The press can’t keep up the lie forever and knows it. A lot of people are turning away from the traditional media outlets when they find out how badly they are being propagandized and in the long run the truth will come out about everything.

Buck up and quit caving in. Make the argument for what’s right and call out the lies for what they are.

Fix the problem before the economy collapses or both sides will be held to blame after the fact.
