It appears that the grandfather of Obamacare is slated to become the Republican nominee for president. There’s not much we can do in the realm of presidential politics except hope that the new page on the Etch A Sketch will be better than the old one. At present, the most consequential thing we can do as conservatives is to follow the congressional elections in every | Read More »

Around election time, conservatives are always confronted with the arduous task of sifting through candidates who propagate meretricious right wing talking points in an effort to conceal their faux conservative record. Thankfully, this election cycle, to a certain extent, has given rise to an anomalous level of veracity. Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are unambiguously communicating to conservatives that they are not ‘one of the | Read More »

Farm subsidies are the most popular form of corporate cronyism among many Republicans. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, this regressive form of ‘progressive’ market intervention garners enthusiastic support from Republican presidential contenders, especially preceding the Iowa Caucuses. Haley Barbour is the latest potential presidential candidate to prostrate on the altar of the farm lobby and support the $20 billion fleecing of the taxpayer. Even with the | Read More »

Thankfully, the Republican controlled House just passed the repeal of Obamacare by a 245-189 margin. Three Democrats; Mike Ross (AR), Dan Boren (OK), and Mike McIntyre (NC), joined every Republican in support of repeal. This means that 10 of the remaining 13 Democrats who voted against Obama Care to win reelection last year, showed their true colors by opposing repeal. Here are the ten Democrat | Read More »

By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | December 29th at 06:57 PM |
Back in 2005, when Republicans controlled the House, Senate, and presidency, they were contemplating a “nuclear option” to end the filibuster on judicial nominees. We were all aghast at the unprecedented number of filibusters that were mounted by Democrats to block highly qualified nominees to Federal Appellate courts. At the time, the ever perspicacious George Will warned conservatives of the counter-intuitive consequences of squelching the | Read More »

According to Roll Call, the GOP holds 61 seats won by Obama, | Read More »
