The First Likely Voter Poll from Fox News Portends Mostly Good News

Earlier this afternoon Fox News posted their first likely voter poll of the campaign, which shows Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama 45%-44%.  Many of us were wondering how the polling would look once the pollsters switch to a likely voter screen – a model which is almost always more favorable to Republicans than a poll of registered voters.  This poll of 1,007 likely voters is | Read More »

The Poor Aren’t Buying Obama’s Class Warfare

Obama is forcing our troops to fight a politically correct war in Afghanistan; however, he is prosecuting his class warfare with no holds barred.  Obama and the Democrats are the Navy SEALS of class warfare.  Fortunately, his target audience, the poor, are not impressed with his ferocity.  Obama’s support among the poorest Americans has dropped to an all time low, according to the latest Gallup | Read More »

Gallup: Obama Under 50% among ‘Adults’ in 38 States

Gallup has collected the data from their daily tracking polls throughout 2010 and contrasted the results to the same information from 2009.  Not surprisingly, their findings show that Obama has suffered a decline in every state since 2009.  His unpopularity is now ubiquitous.  Overall, Obama’s national approval rating has dropped 11% from 58% to 47%.  Furthermore, the polling data collected from nearly 180,000 interviews shows | Read More »

It’s Official: Maryland is the Most Democrat State

Gallup just released their latest polling data on party strength in each of the fifty states.  They polled the respondents based on their party identification, not political ideology.  As it turns out, the most Democrat state (excluding DC, of course) is not Vermont, New York, or Massachusetts.  It is… Maryland!  That’s right.  Maryland is the state with the largest Democrat party advantage, at 22% over | Read More »

Republicans Poised to Pick Up state Attorney General Offices

A lot of ink has been spilled trying to handicap the House, Senate, and Gubernatorial elections. One of the important things about a wave election is that it usually has a down the ticket affect in boosting the victorious party in state legislature and other statewide elections. I figured that I would begin today by researching where things stand in the race to control the | Read More »

What Other Sleeper House Races are Lurking in the Background?

ost of the professional pundits laughed at us last year when we declared there to be 70-80 seats that are easily in play.  Now, it has become yesterday’s news.  The real news is that there are sleeper races that are emerging that weren’t even factored into the top 100 list of endangered Democrats.  Much of the excitement has been surrounding the race in AZ-7 in | Read More »

District by District House Polls and the Impending GOP Wave

Below the fold, I have compiled a comprehensive list of all the recent polls of competitive house races.  Statewide Senate and Gubernatorial polling data are readily available but resources on House race polling are quite scarce.  So here is the list for you political junkies out there (let me know if there is anything missing). The striking thing about these polls is that they foreshadow | Read More »

John Raese Surging In West Virginia

According to a new Rasmussen poll, conservative Republican John Raese has pulled within 6 points of Democrat Governor Joe Manchin in West Virginia.  Manchin now leads Raese 48%-42%, sharply lower than his 51%-35% lead just one month ago. Also, this poll provides us with even better news.  Obama has a 70% disapproval rating in the Mountain State!  This is very significant because Manchin is trying | Read More »
