I haven’t moved since 85 except slightly toward left. And they went full tilt left and call me intolerant.

Frankly I’ve never believed Colin Powell was actually a Republican and he has proved that during this last election.

He’s attempting to explain his participation and support of the Iraq War to Move on.org.

No one should take him seriously – - if we want a winning Republican party in the next elections, his advice should not only be ignored but the reverse of what he recommends should be considered.

not all RINOs are as openly “Conservative” in their campaign (CCINOs – Conservatives Campaigners In Name Only / aka: Liar) rhetoric as a Blue-Dog, but both usually do abandon the “Conservative” position to vote for the more Liberal/Left/Progressive/Socialist side in Legislation – which is why the concept of a Blue-Dog is a Myth. to many Republicans who defended their distaste for Obama after being accused of “racism” by saying they might have voted for Collin Powell, had he run. I wondered why Powell came out so publically for Obama towards the end of the campaign. It was a foil, as in, “Well, if you would have voted for Powell and he is now endorsing the O man, you logically can vote for the O and remain idealogically pure.”

Of course, I believe it’s all disingenuous anyway. Collin Powell, even though he advised Bush I to stop pursuing the Republican Guard on the road to Damascus, used to be much farther to the right than he is today. Thus, the cartoon’s very accurate depiction of him.

I believe those are BO supporters who were taking the joy rides over NY in AF2.

Insert any moderate republican into that picture and it still applies. A great example of what the media is trying to say about the Republican party and what is actually happening.

Powell – although unwittingly – has made himself part of the conservative resurgence.

Along with Arlen Specter, Powell has criticized conservatives for being…well… conservative. If Republicans are to regain any standing on the national stage, they must return to being a conservative party.

Obama will show the folly of liberalism by creating inflation, high interest rates and very high unemployment. People will only take so much of this before conservatives will find an audience at least willing to listen. Conservatives should then bounce back – at least some by 2010.

Does this all sound familiar? It should! Jimmy Carter started the Reagan Revolution with his own domestic and foreign ineptitude. Obama – although a great speaker – will achieve the same economic results as Carter.

Conservatives should be optimistic. For a top ten list of reasons, you can hit:
