Pardon me if this has been asked elsewhere, but I’m still having “issues” getting into non-FP diaries (Reco-code) that hasn’t been isolated yet. Anyway….

If Romney is even “supposedly” remotely electable to consider a Presidential run, he ought to be able to have “a shot” at this!?!?!

Since they didn’t get the Law changed back to allow the Gov. to appoint… and those antics (with Romney being the Gov. they insisted on changing to prevent making a pick if Kerry had won) would/could/should be an issue of the Democrats shenanigans. Or will the Democrats try and ram through the change in law and try to make it retroactive and relevant to this now vacant seat? A part of me would love to see them try to pull that! If Romney couldn’t get this seat he sure wouldn’t have the chance to get Presidency in ’12 and if he does it positions him better for 16/20.

Curt Schilling was was mentioned before and I heard him mentioned again today as a potential run at Kennedy’s seat… all the more reason I heard again today that the Democrats may be trying to still go ahead ex-post-facto and retroactively change the Law to allow the MASS (D) Gov. make an appointment DESPITE the current law REQUIRING a Special Election that Ted Kennedy himself INSISTED be passed when Romney was Gov. PATHETIC!!! They must be called on it… It is a CLEAR ADMISSION that they know the mood of the country and that it IS NOT with them and that they could lose a Special Election to someone like the popular Schilling (or potentially Romney)!!! We must not let this drop, there MUST BE A SPECIAL ELECTION!!!

goes back to the heart of the Obama seat Burris fiasco and potential of Ditka providing a challenge: Blago and all the other related hijinks regarding IL Democrats

        • JadedByPolitics

stand up and be heard and not allow this travesty of Democracy occur to them. It is up to them, it will be interesting to see if they care.

(All States should amend laws to require some form of Special Elections) this should prove as example again that it appears CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS in every State is needed to STOP their Politicians (from both sides, we have to have this declared “fairness” for us all). Whether it be a vote by the people or at least require nominations be put into consideration into a States’ Legislature and THEY hold the Special Election (there is more direct pressure to State Officials that way and it is not in 1 persons hands).

All that, again has been discussed before and will be again (Special Elections – All States should amend laws to require some form of Special Elections / Blago & IL fiasco – Blago) and we should keep the pressure on.

Be buried in Arlington (where I’m sorry as the son of a veteran he does not belong). Before you try and start using him as a political football. Maybe a picture of Kennedy’s head being kicked by some Donkey’s on a football field would be more apt.

      Sorry, no class.

I personally was too young for the whole Chappaquidick thing (Probably didn’t even spell it right), but from what I read, he deserved some jailtime at the least, and some electrodes attached to his scrotum and set to high at the most.

Water polo… I had to laugh at that….

And while Rush only hinted at it, I’ll say it:
Kennedy has provided the Democrats a Shovel Ready project – which should be to bury the HC Bill.

… we now return to our serious discussion….

  • http://www.ssce.net/Web-Articles/Web-articles-indexed-authors.html#authors-l JLenardDetroit

Republicans should immediately upon return place into consideration a HC Bill in Kennedy’s name that can IMMEDIATELY be passed with 100% unanimous support… The Bill can/should be brief/short and deal with the one issue EVERYONE will agree on: COMPLETE ELIMINATION OF PRE-EXISTING CONDITION EXCLUSIONS – PERIOD!!!!

Again, Republicans should submit it as it’s very own stand-alone piece of legislation in both the House and Senate simultaneously!!!! Democrats will, of course, really want to OPPOSE it but will find it difficult (which is why it must be immediately done) as that is the number 1 issue (supposedly) regarding HC jitters. Democrats really won’t want it because fixing that number 1 concern will give even greater/further rise to the fact that THERE IS NO NEED TO RUSH ANY OTHER HC REFORM – ESPECIALLY THEIR REAL AGENDA OF A COMPLETE HC TAKEOVER!!!

    • izoneguy

and they won’t be at the funeral. JLD is right, the Republicans in the House & Senate should work on dozens of one page bills plastered with Teddy’s name on them……

      • theBlur

be at Dead Ted’s funeral. Part of the “congeniality” of the legislative body, as it were. There may be a few Republican’s with the spherical fortitude to point out that, despite the fawning media attention, ol’ Dead Ted had not a chance to get cool before the D’s were invoking his (in their mind) saintly moniker in order to advance the health care fiasco.

Let ‘em (both the D’s and the media) go for it. I know that here in my home state, Dead Ted only gets what sympathy he will from ultra-liberals and institutionalized DC types. Everyone else is going “meh?” In fact, at my favorite bar, the most popular bumper sticker on the wall is “Teddy for President – A Blond in Every Pond.”

I’d love to have a modicum of respect for ol’ Dead Ted, but I just cannot. He represented all that was bad about the power structure in DC, despite what the beltway pundits (even ours) say.

if you think this is about healthcare then you are sadly mistaken! Obama and his handlers are in the process of destroying our constitution and our dual party system.. He is trying to create a Hugo Chavez reenactment with him as the Dear Leader . He is a master of deceit and misdirection and so far he has been ahead of most of our elected officials. He has us looking over here(health care) while he is happily working in the background turning America into a Marxist third world country. Also he is busily destroying our intelligence capabilities and creating a new military that would only answer to him.. He is definitely coming for our guns.
Never in the history of this nation have we been under such a covert attack by of all people the president of the United states. Wake up America! This is unbelievable but it’s true. It’s time for real patriots to stand once again.

Mr. Obama……you ain’t above the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.suvstrategery.blogspot.com SoFiMil

I think the Obama Administration is more than pleased to have the bill named after Ted Kennedy — even if it won’t help with the bill’s passage. If and when the bill goes down it flames it, the failure of health care won’t reflect as negatively on Obama. For that reason, I’ll continue to call it ObamaCare.

5! — Well done, TobyToons! Cartooning about someone’s death in an appropriate manner has to be incredibly difficult, but you pulled it off.
