Carry (Nation) Bloomberg Rides Again

Carry Nation Bloomberg

It is a good thing that elected officials know so much about how to run our lives. First trans-fats, then salt, then sugary drinks, then Alcohol (well, almost). NY City Mayor Bloomberg may as well pick up the hatchet used by Carry Nation on her crusades in the 1920′s.

For more information on the topic, see Caleb Howe’s article here: The Great Bloomberg Booze Backlash of 2012.

…about people that makes them think that being elected to public office suddenly gives them the ability to direct our lives for us and causes them to think the rest of us are less intelligent or capable then they? I’m sick of all the darn nanny state legislation spewing forth from all levels f government.

What this gels me is that we don’t need any more laws and all legislative bodies should be part time.

Our AR legislature meets only a few months every other year and we are largely spared the intrusive nannyism of full time legislatures.

Nice poll though – has Perry ahead of Santorum and Huntsman combined.

Hmm, wonder if that will count for the second debate which I understand requires 7%?

American Research Group is not an approved polling outfit.

CNN fudged the rules a little to make sure he made it –

“When CBS published the results of its poll on January 9, it listed Rick Perry at 6 percent. However, the full release shows that Perry received 6 percent when those surveyed had an option to choose “Someone Else,” and received 7 percent when those surveyed did not have that option. Because Perry received 7 percent in the latter poll, he qualifies for the CNN debate in South Carolina”

Under the standard polling method Perry made the cut, you can not like that result, but CNN isn’t to blame for letting him in.

Once I found a Gallup poll that pegged him at 7%, I knew there’d be two more out there to confirm it.
