What should be Congressman Allen West’s next career move after this breaking news from Politico:
GOP Rep. Allen West has conceded the election in Florida’s 18th District to Democrat Patrick Murphy, he said in a statement to POLITICO. The Republican had been challenging the vote-counting process in St. Lucie County.
“For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly,” West said in the statement. “We have made progress toward that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process. While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.”
Since Congressman Allen West has been a favorite of RedState and PJ Media readers (and in the past I have been fortunate to have conducted two exclusive interviews with him) let’s help him out now with some career counseling and suggest his next move.
“The future is so bright I gotta wear shades,” sums up my view of all the opportunities that will be crossing his desk. But here is my official suggestion (and one that I actually mentioned to West’s Chief of Staff, Jonathan Blyth months ago just in case the election turned out the way it turned out) and that suggestion is for Allen West to join Al Sharpton as co-host on Sharpton’s MSNBC show.
The renamed “Al and Allen Show” would be a point – counterpoint between two high profile African American “leaders” whose world views are 180 degrees apart and that would make fascinating television.
All the liberals who watch MSNBC might actually learn something from Congressman West and thus our national decline could be delayed just a tad.
If you have a better idea (and I know you do) just offer it here and I will forward them all to the Congressman’s staff.
