Peter Rodman, the former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, has died of complications from leukemia.
Rodman was a man of vision and practicality who gave his life to public service. You can know a person by the company he keeps, and Peter was a valued associate of Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld--a group that might not always agree with each other but whom were united in their respect for Peter Rodman.
On a personal note, I was fortunate enough to benefit from his friendship and wisdom over the course of the last year. I am grateful for the opportunity, and deeply saddened we will not be able to work together going forward. God speed, Peter.
