Peter Rodman, RIP
Peter Rodman, the former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, has died of complications from leukemia.
Rodman was a man of vision and practicality who gave his life to public service. You can know a person by the company he keeps, and Peter was a valued associate of Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld–a group that might not always agree with each other but whom were united in their respect for Peter Rodman.
Among many other things, Rodman served as an editor of National Review. There are some moving tributes to him up on the Corner (again).
On a personal note, I was fortunate enough to benefit from his friendship and wisdom over the course of the last year. I am grateful for the opportunity, and deeply saddened we will not be able to work together going forward. God speed, Peter.
