(Via Hot Air) Who knew?
"Still I am a Marxist," the exiled Tibetan Buddhist leader said in New York, where he arrived today with an entourage of robed monks and a heavy security detail to give a series of paid public lectures.
"(Marxism has) moral ethics, whereas capitalism is only how to make profits," the Dalai Lama, 74, said.
However, he credited China’s embrace of market economics for breaking communism's grip over the world's most populous country and forcing the ruling Communist Party to "represent all sorts of classes".
"(Capitalism) brought a lot of positive to China. Millions of people’s living standards improved," he said.
Crom's Hammer, I think I'm going to sneeze*!
You know what, I can care less about the Capitalism vs Communism aspect of this story. What I would like to go into the fact that the Dalai Lama, a religious leader of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, believes in Marxism, in which ATHEISM IS A CORNERSTONE!!
How can you believe in Marxism without being an Atheist? I will not go into details, but even Marx said that Communism cannot work unless there is an absence of religion. How is it that a religious man, came to view Marxism? As the man said: "Morals"
My head hurts, because Communism/Marxism doesn't have any "morals". Pol Pot, Joseph Stalin, Chairman Mao, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara... Yeah, pillars of society!
With all due respect, the Dalai Lama doesn't know what he is talking about. The human right record of any Communist nation is appalling. Anyone with a bloody eye can understand that when you put the collective above the individual, human life becomes meaningless. Morals and ethics go out the window when individuals mean nothing to the whole of society. Who cares if a few million people died, as long as their deaths pave the way to the future!
And let me tell you something about Atheism. There are no "morals" or "ethics" in Atheism. They make it up as they go along. I should know, I'M AN ATHEIST**!
But I digress. Here is a guy who was fighting the ChiComs and here we find out that he is one of them. If he is able to free his people, he would just go back and brutalize them himself. That right there upsets me more than anything else. The people of Tibet deserve more than to find themselves threaten by yet another dictator to impose Collectivism on them once more. Clearly, Shangri-La will have to wait another day.
*I'm censoring myself here.
**The majority of Atheists and Atheist Groups, piss me off.
