For almost a year of my life when I was a young man I had to recite something called “the Days” upon demand by any upperclassman. Maybe there was a purpose to it.
Regardless, here are some of our “Days.” Followed by a question.
5: Days until the June 8 Arkansas run-off election and the California, Iowa, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota and Virginia primary elections.
19: Days until the June 22 Mississippi primary run-off election, the North Carolina second primary election, and the Utah primary election.
26: Days until the June 29 South Dakota secondary election.
40: Days until the July 13 Alabama run-off election.
47: Days until the July 20 Georgia primary election.
54: Days until the July 27 Oklahoma primary election.
82: Days until the August 24 Alaska, Arizona and Florida primary elections.
103: Days until the September 14 District of Columbia, Delaware, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin primary elections.
The question: What are YOU doing NOW, today, to make sure the Republican and independent voters in your precinct actually vote (either by mail or in person)?
Suggestions: find your local GOP committee (legislative district, county, whatever works where you live). Find out as soon as possible what they are doing to get out the vote and volunteer to help make that happen. Contact your “tea party” type organizations to see if THEY are doing anything akin to “get out the vote.” Help them.
