Thought #1: The Democratic convention hall is set up with the Illinois and Delaware delegations front and center. Which - especially if they go ahead with a full roll call of the states - would be rather embarrassing if Biden's own delegation was voting for Hillary. Fortunately for Biden, Obama won Delaware; I wonder, though, if the fear of a similar scene was a motivating factor in Obama choosing Biden over Evan Bayh.
Thought #2: John McCain has promised to unveil his running mate Friday at a rally in the crucial swing state of Ohio. The announcement of the running mate should be expected to dominate the news that day...the timing is largely dictated by the fact that it's the only weekday between the two parties' conventions, but I wonder if it's also in part an effort to distract from Friday being McCain's 72nd birthday.
