The One Loses his Street Cred
The Associated Press reported the following on Friday:
WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama told voters repeatedly during the health care debate that the overhaul legislation would bring down fast-rising health care costs and save them money. Now, he’s hemming and hawing on that.
So far, the law he signed earlier this year hasn’t had the desired effect. An analysis from Medicare’s Office of the Actuary this week said that the nation’s health care tab will go up – not down – through 2019 as a result of Obama’s sweeping law, though the increase is modest.
Obama offered some caveats when asked in his news conference Friday about the apparent discrepancy between what he promised and what’s actually happening so far. On several other topics, too, his rhetoric fell short of a full accounting.
The One’s new found honesty has nothing to do with his desire to suddenly tell the truth.
It does however, have everything to do with the fact that the public does not believe him (at all) about ObamaCare saving money.
Even Dem liberal groups are telling Dem House members, do not say ObamaCare saves money, no one believes it.
So, again, what comes out of The One’s mouth has nothing to do with truth, but everything to do with politics.
It is pretty clear, The One lies easier than Bill Clinton. However, unlike Bill Clinton, The One’s credibility has suffered immeasurable and I believe irreversible harm with the American public — mainly because he used his lies to stuff really unpopular legislation down America’s throat, in the face of their consistent and strong opposition.
The One has lost his street cred.
