The State Department is taking cyber attacks on Google and other US firms very seriously and is seeking an explanation from Beijing but it is not the "foreign policy arm of Google," a US official said.
Alec Ross, the senior adviser for innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, also said that a speech Clinton is due to give on Thursday on internet freedom would not focus solely on China.
"This is primarily an issue between Google and 30-plus other private entities and the Chinese government," he said at the start of a panel discussion sponsored by the New America Foundation and Slate magazine.
Let's see if this makes sense..................
The current administration's 'Technology Czar' is the CEO of the world's largest and most privacy-violating search engine. Apparently China has a problem with that search engine's policies and practices, so they're initiating online 'investigations' of the search engine.
The current administration's 'Technology Czar' who (to repeat) is the CEO of the world's largest and most privacy-violating search engine which happens to be being cyber-attacked by China.
The current administration's 'Technology Czar' who (to reiterate one more time) is the CEO of the world's largest and most privacy-violating search engine which happens to be getting it's head handed to it by The Communist Chinese Government (to which I thought this search engine's entire staff and management compliment agreed with in policy) runs home to The Bad Golfer In Chief and asks him to do something.
That leads to 'someone' at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue having an epiphany....... 'Whoever' decided this thinks it would be an absolutely fantastic idea if the current administration would dictate policy to a to a nation that The United States owes about 1,500 gazillion dollars in debt and that the nation holding the debt is VERY close to the inevitable "margin called" moment.
I can honestly see this getting VERY ugly VERY quickly......... and Her Royal Rodhamness is involved as 'point'.
.....and all that without any mention of 'Net Neutrality' which happens to be the exact opposite of whatever Marxist-Totalitarian grab-'em-stomp-'em insanity the current administration considers 'internet freedom'.
