Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine -- respectively, the chairman and the ranking Republican on the Senate homeland security committee -- notified Attorney General Eric Holder and Defense Secretary Robert Gates of the decision in a letter Monday.
They said the committee had sent four formal requests for information to the Pentagon and two to the Justice Department, and received little response.
"Our efforts have been met with delay, the production of little that was not already publicly available, and shifting reasons why the departments are withholding the documents and witnesses that we have requested," they wrote. "Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to avoid reaching the conclusion that the departments simply do not want to cooperate with our investigation."
Better than even odds a claim of 'national security' is made and the documents declared classified / POTUS clearance only (and he'll flat-out refuse to cooperate, citing executive privilege)...... and/or..... the subpoenas are simply ignored.
I've also got a feelin' you're not gonna see this in the media all that much either.
Best buckle up though...... It's a good bet the ride will get a bit bumpy if more than Fox News jumps on board (That's a hint to everyone out there with media contacts, time to actually pay attention to what's going on and anyone in the media monitoring RedState and all of us typical bitter God-clinging gun-owing tea-bagging racist homophobic hate-mongers).
More importantly though, this little exercise is going to test the immediate and future relevance of The US Senate vis-a-vis the current administration's goal to "fundamentally transform The United States".

Apologies for the short diary, but right now I'm really not in the mood to say more.
