Ecclesiastes 3:1 is right. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”And the season of the tea party is sunsetting. It is now time for greater activity in the political process. Again, show up if you want. Go protest. It is healthy for us to have our voices heard. But don’t think that is all you must do.We have reached a point where the tea party movement will either go forward in greater organization or it will not. As we head into the Indiana Senate primary in a few weeks, it is a good time to review a key fact.Dan Coats, during the confirmation fight of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, said:“There was a centuries-old tradition of respecting national electoral results bygranting the President latitude in selecting nominees for the bench.”Only now that he is in his primary fight is Dan Coats walking that back, calling his vote for Ginsberg a mistake.
