A report has circulated regarding my proposed, one-word amendment to Rule 16c(2). Supposedly, “the issue has been dealt with, with the participation of, and to the satisfaction of Morton Blackwell.”
That is a false report.
No one has even proposed any Rules “deal” to me, perhaps because it’s pretty clear that restoring the prohibition of winner-take-all presidential primaries in March is necessary to prevent a race toward early March which would amount to a national presidential primary.
Conservatives who support my proposal should reject any new Rules amendments which would impose on state parties further national restrictions on each state’s right to decide the method and timing of its selection and binding of its national convention delegates.
