SCOTUS appointment imminent?

Elections have consequences: The SCOTUS Chronicles. Today "Liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 75, had surgery on Thursday for pancreatic cancer" a court spokesman said.
Spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said in a statement that Ginsburg showed no symptoms of pancreatic cancer before the initial discovery of a lesion during a routine annual check-up in late January.
Arberg said Ginsburg had surgery for "apparently early-stage" pancreatic cancer at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Pancreatic cancer is deadly. The 5-year survival rate is only 40% and from a personal perspective having watched my grandmother succumb to this abomination, it is not pleasant. I wish Justice Ginsburg luck in fighting it off.
This of course brings us to the potential justice nominees that Obama will pick. According to SCOTUSblog, the "three obvious candidates are Elena Kagan (SG), Sonia Sotomayor (CA2), and Diane Wood (CA7). The sleeper candidate is Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm". I would bet on Sotomayor being that she would be the first Hispanic nominee to the Court; and we all know how Obama is indebted to the Hispanic vote.
However, I would think that given Obama’s Harvard education and the literal proliferation of Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe, this might turn out to be a dark horse possibility. If you are not familiar with Professor Tribe, he is considered one of the foremost experts on constitutional law today. And, he is a big liberal. So given Obama’s now defined inability to lead, it may just be that he picks a father figure for reassurance.
