When Chicago voters returned Pat Quinn to his job as Governor of Chicago, they knew he wanted to increase their income taxes from 3% to 4%. That's not much for most of his supporters, who accept a government check of one sort or another.
But shortly after winning reelection, he let it be known that a 33% increase was not enough, if his public sector union campaign contributions were to be honored. So he conspired with fellow Chicago Boss House Speaker Mike Madigan. Americans for Tax Reform obtained shocking video of their negotiation.
