“I’ve Got Your Back,” Obama Tells Military
Just not in harm's way
On Tuesday of this week, President Barack H. Obama told members of the American military forces that he’s got their back.
Was he speaking about soldiers posted to the most dangerous areas?
No, forget that.
On Tuesday, Obama told reporters that he spoke to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel earlier in the day to reiterate that the administration has “to not just step up our game, but exponentially step up our game, to go at this thing hard.”
“I have no tolerance for this,” Obama said. “I expect consequences — I don’t want just more speeches or awareness programs or training …”
He added that he wants victims of sexual assault in the military to know “I’ve got their backs.”
No, it’s military victims of sexual assault that he’s concerned about.
Find yourself in a firefight with Islamic jihadists, stuck in a remote area like Libya, and he might just go off to sleep in the White House before an important day of campaigning.
